one member charged for a program he made. one modder charged for his mods. not the whole site. all the other mods and all the other utilities are still free. everyone was so quick to judge them, and yet now this whole site has to do it and everyone's suddenly on board. people do what they have to do. i'm fully supportive of this if this is what needs to be done. do i like it? absolutely not, but who in their right mind likes it? i think everyone can now take a slice of that humble pie. and an apology to those other two wouldn't kill either.

then you don't understand business, because that would be a helluva business plan. i wonder how microsoft would do if their goal was to break even.

the ad for the mvpmods toolbar seems too big. it pushes the content on the right side of the page off the screen. if i minimize the box, i can view the whole front page as normal.

i really need to fix that hobbs face. goes to show how much differently i mod compared to when i released that one.

it's possible that an empty slot has them. the only thing is no one's tested all 15 slots for all teams. so the only way to know is to try. just remember that it's hard coded. so you can only get them if the slot allows it. if it doesn't, then you can't add them. as for Tit, installation of uniforms are easy. take the two uniform files and rename them to your slot. you also need a bmp of the portrait named to the slot. say the tigers for example: u006n.fsh, f006n.fsh, and 006n.bmp. zip the three files up with winrar, winzip, 7z... and install it with Tit.

each team has 15 slots. for now, i've confirmed every team can use all 15. but i haven't been able to identify a consistent way to use all 15 slots without it crashing at the uniform select screen, besides using 08. for now, i would recommend using 13 per team. or if you go to eamods, checkout spungo's thread and use the uniforms.big i posted to use all 15. as for the numbers, as redsox said, it depends on what slot you use. you cannot add them. you can however remove them if you wish as he stated. for all the empty slots, no one has actually gone through every team's slots to verify, so you will only know when you try it. as far as i have seen, i've only seen the standard names and numbers on the back in the empty slots. if someone were to go through and catalog this, it would be a great addition to our information pool.

well i have all the time in the world i've still got many teams to create before i'm at the point of doing attributes. though i do have enough done to play some games, which is too tempting for me to resist sometimes.

i don't even know what a macro is but i've thought about something like that. i would prefer a method that allows me to copy lines from baseball-reference.com into a spreadsheet and generate ratings that way. it's the least amount of steps i could think of. i have to take into consideration that i am doing this for 3250 different guys, so anything that can save me even a microsecond adds up quickly. plus it would be one way to make it consistent. the only issue i've come across (besides not know what a macro is) is that i was hoping to generate attributes from the two best seasons each guy has had. the issue is that i don't have splits for anyone before 1954. i tried copy and paste from that site the other day, but the stats get all entered into one box. i know it can be done, but i just haven't had the time to figure out how to make it work yet. by the time i'm done making the rosters and what not, i hope to have something figured out. if not, then worst case scenario i just base them off of lahman's database from their best season.
-
same here. in fact, i'm stuck at doing attributes altogether, so i don't know how i will do them. i would prefer one consistent method so that i can have objective way to create attributes that will not take me three years. at the pace i was going, i decided to put off doing attributes in hopes that someone will have a better method when i'm ready to go back and add them. for now, my concentration is going into making the roster, faces, portraits and audios. i had no idea how pain staking a process it was. this alone will take forever.
-
i'm all for progress. i honestly don't care how attributes are determined, but i do wish that there was a universal method we could all have consensus on.

you guys are too quick for me.

you'll need to edit the loc files. there are two of them in the data folder. you will need to use a program called loclook. look in markb's faq list or xiberger's mvp for dummies threads to read more about them, or just search. it should be in the downloads. this will change the in game text. you will then also need to edit the config.txt file in the mvpedit folder. this will edit the text in the roster. you will also need to edit the logo in the logos.big folder. finally you will also need to edit the team and stadium audios. this will be the fun part. i think that might cover it all.

modders have expressed permission to use the cyberfaces in my classic packs for total conversion mods. all i ask is that the mod is uploaded here or eamods, and also gives due credit. so feel free to use them. but i feel for you too. the rosters take forever.
-
so make sure to click his sig regularly to support him!
-
sounds good. so when will you be releasing your first pack of 300 cyberfaces :)
-
yeah markB's faq list and xiberger's mvp for dummies thread are great places to start. but for cyberfaces, don't forget to read the text file that came with my tutorial. it explains alot more about cyberfaces, especially the issue you ran into. but glad you were able to find it in the forums. i never could find it when i needed it, so i decided to put it all in my tutorial.

yes, you will have trouble with oedit and vista. just how it is. it's pretty much the single one reason i've stuck with xp. the only way to fix it is to get the author of it to update it. but he hasn't done so. i don't know about install faces through mvpedit, but yes you can simply assign the number you want there. from there, i would just zip up the cyberface files and install them with Tit. it's as easy as it gets.
-
it means you need to install the fonts his templates use on your computer.
-
i'm still getting this. seems to be happening more and more frequently. and when it does this, i have no way to view any new posts.
-
yes, someone who understands me oops.
-
you're kidding me right?. if not, you got some playing to do.
-
back for more eh? looking good.

if you're replacing the stadium files and it's still crashing, then it's probably not the stadium. if memory serves me correct, you might be having a problem with the mike heath cyberface. http://www.mvpmods.com/index.php?showtopic...p;hl=mike+heath

it sounds like you didn't create the slot files for the uniforms.big. i'm assuming you created the textures for the uniforms.big, but you also need to create the place holders. look at the uniforms.big and look at any team. you will see the texture file and a whole bunch of other files that go with them. those are the place holders.
