i would highly advise you not use biggui to install faces. it's good for looking at the files, but it will eventually corrupt the models.big if you use it to install or compress. use TIT or the installer thingy to install faces.

i think prince can be off the list. he's a one dimensional player and really isn't ever in the mvp discussion. if we're looking at one player that has been the face of the game for the past 10 years, to be quite honest there isn't one. there's really no one in the last ten years that really defines this generation of players like most generations have. it should've been a-rod, but we all know how it turned out. if you're looking at just the numbers alone, it's either pujols or cabrera. pujols put up demigod like numbers 6 of the last ten years. cabrera though not as good, has done the best for the longest amount of time in the past ten years. if you're not going for that, then it's clearly bo jackson. no one has a baseball card like him. clearly he's the best of the best. no argument even need to be made there. but if there's one guy that had the biggest impact in the game, i'd argue canseco did. i don't know anyone who's single handedly changed the game as he did these last ten years. his book was a major kick in the groin.

if you go that route, then it's clear who it's gotta be: Bo Jackson. otherwise if Kraw gets back in the game for this mod, i say he chooses who it is.

those are the uniform files. the a and f files are the font files that go with those uniforms.

for now you can get it to work by extracting all the files from the models.big. then delete all of the files that start in an a, f, or u. replace your models.big with the original and then install the remaining files into that. if you want newer uniforms, install ones you know work, such as the ones from the 08 mod. that's the best way to get it to work for now until a fix is made.

so it's the uniforms. i went through and tried repacking them and there were a lot of errors, which tells me some of them were not packed right when they were modded. after i was finished repacking them and installed them, it crashed the game again. so the next daunting task is to figure out which ones are crashing the game and repacking the texture files correctly.

there's nothing wrong with the romantic view of him. a lot of people have that view on him, but a lot of it has to do with the fact that he's been in the spotlight. he gets more national attention because he played for the yankees. the things olbermann brings up pertains to the fact that people let that romantic view of the guy cloud what he actually did. they seem to make his accomplishments much greater than they really are. no one's saying he didn't have a great career, but so many have this view of him being such a great shortstop of his time when he really wasn't even a great shortstop. what he was great at was being a hitter, with consistency and longevity. and i don't think biggio is getting screwed. i think he gets in eventually. there is a very elite group of guys that i would consider first ballot hall of famers based on how these guys have been voted in.

i've actually narrowed it down to an issue with the uniforms. it crashed for everyone but worked fine when i swapped out the models.big. i've installed each part of the models.big into a fresh one and it starts crashing every time i install the uniforms. i'm going through them as we speak to make sure the uniforms have all been packed correctly. if it ends up working we'll know the culprit. if you don't hear from me, avenge my death.

i don't really have anything disparaging to say about jeter. i talked a lot of smack about him through his career only because he played for the opponent, but that is expected. but at the end of the day, he was an excellent player and i feel privileged to have seen him play. the game needs more people like him, so I can understand the adoration he gets. i just happen to agree with the idea of all the overhype of how good he was compared to his peers.

you're just making more points for olbermann. it's exactly what he's saying. he's been hyped a lot more during his career than anyone we've ever seen. he was a great player but you wouldn't be jumping off the couch for him if he spent his career with the astros. he was a really good hitter, but he also had the luxury of spending his career during a very successful run for the yankees. his hype is so great that people actually have to discuss if he's a first ballot HOF'er when guys like biggio put up essentially the same numbers and are borderline even getting in. kudos to him for all his success, but he's not the greatest thing since sliced bread. there have been far greater players to wear that uniform.

just right click the link you use to the game and hit Properties. it should tell you the path of where the exe is that it's loading. it can't read from files that are gone--that's assuming you've uninstalled it all correctly.
