  1. Several different opinions here but looks like Roberto Clemente is the consensus winner. http://bleacherreport.com/articles/1153952-mlb-the-40-best-outfield-arms-in-baseball-history http://bleacherreport.com/articles/590862-mlb-power-rankings-the-25-best-outfield-arms-in-mlb-history http://www.ranker.com/crowdranked-list/greatest-throwing-arms-of-all-time
  2. ***Below are my MVPEdit formula notes: Lahman Import SPEED formula 3B / AB * 4 = T# SB + CS / AB = S# T# + S# * 1000 + 10.5 = SPEED Rating (3B = Triples; AB = At Bats; SB = Stolen Bases; CS = Caught Stealing) ***NOTE*** Speed rating is heavily impacted by playing time and will definitely need to be tweaked across an entire roster especially for those players with little playing time (i.e. ABs).

  4. It is related to Shane Reynolds not being in any roster from what I remember. Look around the forums as there is a fix for it. Shane Reynolds was needed as the pitcher in the Home Run derby mode. At least I think in Home Run Derby that was the problem as it was in the mini games mode.
  5. Thanks Padres67, Much appreciated! In fact, this approach is not new in anyway. It is just MLB The Show's version of the original mod a few of us created way back in 2003 for EA Sports MVP Baseball 2004 on the PC which eventually became the motivating concept for the creation of what became known as "Total Classics" and can still be found in the MVP 2004 Roster download section here at MVPMods called "Early Sixties Roster Set V2" dating back to July 2004. Take Care, Don Cropper

  8. File Name: Total Classics 1969 File Submitter: stecropper File Submitted: 30 Aug 2008 File Category: Total Classics Version: 1.1 Professional baseball's centennial year began with the expansion of both leagues to 12 teams and the introduction of division play in both leagues, as Montreal and San Diego joined the National League and Seattle and Kansas City (Royals) the American League. Because pitchers had become overly dominant in the game, the mound was lowered and the strike zone shrunk to spruce up the hitting. Other news items included: Ken Harrelson, who created an uproar by refusing to report after Boston traded him to Cleveland, and only did so after a significant pay raise; Donn Clendenon, who refused to be traded to Houston by Montreal and wound up in New York with the Mets; Mickey Mantle, who could no longer fight injury and age called it quits before the season opened; Ted Williams, who returned to uniform as the manager of the Washington Senators. None of these events, including the firing at season's end of Billy Martin of the Western Division champion Minnesota Twins, or the bankruptcy of the Seattle Pilots in their first and only year of existence could equal the biggest surprise in baseball's long history… The “MIRACLE of the “AMAZING METS ! Oh, But perhaps the United States Landing a Man on the Moon in July of 1969 is also fairly memorable too ! Yes, it was a Special Year in Baseball in 1969. While Baseball was celebrating it first 100 Years across America the turbulent 60's were ending. Without question “The Times They Had Forever Changed!" as the ultimate faith of the Vietnam War had become reality. America would never be the same and neither would her National Pastime… BASEBALL ! ------------------------------------------- We hope this recreation of the 1969 Season and the 100th Anniversary of Major League Baseball brings enjoyment to both the seasoned veterans as well as the much younger Total Classics enthusiast that would like to trip back to see, hear & feel what it was all like in those wonderful days as the '60s were winding down and America was bracing for the arrival of the 70's. This project is a mere continuation of Total Classics. Much credit needs to be extended to the "Entire" Total Classics Team for creating such an interest in Oldtime Classic Baseball. We hope this project is just a continuation of many more Full Seasons Mods to come. Much " Thanks " & " Appreciation " to the so many MVPModders that have contributed so much to the overall Total Classics experience and continue to do so today. This includes those Cyberface modders; Stadium modders; Uniform modders; Roster modders; Audio modders; Bats Balls & ALL !!! TC69 Specific Credits: Yanks763 & Nick: Logos Homer: Uniforms & many Cyberfaces JoelDeLeon: Overlays; Box Score and many Oldtime Screens; Sounds and other Special Oldtime effects. Stecropper: Rosters; In-game Music; Juke Box Music; Batter Walk-up Ditties, CTS, Theme Screens, Loading Screens., AlexTony: Play by Play & Public Address Audios & Rosters Jim825: Installer & Consulting & Support Our Special "Thanks" to the hundreds of other contributors as so many of their creations go into making these Full Seasons Mods seem to "Come to Life". In particular to all the fabulous Classic Stadium modders such as Pirate; Sean-O; PaulW; Hardcorelegend etc. I cannot allow myself not to mention the immense importance of the FuzZ, Robert Glass, Krawitham & Tywiggins Mods that so greatly enhance this Oldtime Game. Man - You Guys are phenomenal to say the least. *** VERSION HISTORY *** v1.1 1. Tweaked some player attributes 2. Updated Jerry Grote (NY Mets) portrait 3. Added 1969 umpire uniforms. v1.0 Initial release *** TIDBITS *** A ) This mod was built for the complete replay of the 1969 Major League Baseball Season. Thus, the use of Dynasty Mode for a single season is recommended. Although other Major League teams are represented in this mod and should be essentially correct they have not been fully tested but likely are OK to use in Exhibition Play. B ) Although some Minor League Teams are fairly well represented these also have not been tested and it is "HIGHLY RECOMMENDED" that you “TURN OFF" Trades & Injuries to maintain the opening day 25 man rosters intact throughout the season. C ) It is recommended that you install TC69 over a clean install of MVP Baseball 2005 with at least up to Patch #2. D ) It will be necessary for you to install a Profile that UnLocks all Classic Uniforms. E) In the directory where you install TC1969 you will find a subdirectory named “TC69 Extras". This directory includes: 1) The most up todate MVPEdit .mbe file for TC69. It is recommended that you import this .mbe file to capture any potential last minute minor updates. 2) A file named “Sliders.doc" which are the slider setting used to validate the realism & accuracy of this mod during CPU vs CPU style games. You may choose to try these out. 3) A file named “Glass_Profile.sav" which is a profile to unlock everything. This file should be placed in your “My DocumentsMVP Baseball 2005" directory if you care to use it. 4) A copy of the TC69 Readme file.
  9. Yes Siree ! A BIG TIME Birthday wish to this most amazing site. Thanks Trues & all others that have contributed and/or enjoyed over these 10 years. I am PROUD to say I have been here since it's inception and it has brought me endless hours of fun & friends ...... Don
  10. Yankee4Life ......... be sure and visit this site for NBA 2K12: http://www.ultimatenba2k.com/ It is absolutely amazing what all has been done for this game!
  11. WoW ! What a wonderful walk down memory lane. Thanks so much Yankee4Life. Yes, there has been so many great contributions to Trues MVPMODS site over the years actually starting back in 2003 ..... so that is like 10 years in the making and still providing such lasting memories to so many of us ! CONGRATUATIONS & THANKS to ALL !!! Let's not forget a couple others who were key members of the original Total Classics Team such as: AlexTony (who created all the player audios (major task & such a significant contribution) and many many of the portraits along with loading screens; rosters etc.) Yankee763 (Frank Bruno who created many portraits, loading screens, uniforms etc.) Those two fellows along with FuzZ, Jim825 & yours truly made up our initial Total Classics Team in those early days of it's creation. Then later we were joined by OTBJoel (Joel Deleon) who had been in the Old Time Baseball modding scene for many years with previous games and he diligently worked on his tremendous "Legends from the Booth" mod for 3 years which truly transformed the game for many of us. AlexTony contributed many of his player audios to that project as well. Many other superb modders like DennisJames helped continue these wonderful early efforts. Thanks Again Yankee4Life as I have read and reread this thread several times and it brings smiles to my face and truly touches me. Happy Holidays to All & to each I say "Keep swinging that old Bat !", Don
  12. UPDATE: I just tested downloading those 2 requirements to get ty's V0.30 MVPEditor to work in the 64 Bit system and it did not correct the "Address Not Found" error ............. so scratch that idea. What I do is use his V.23 MVPEditor that only has the Projector & Player editor function in it and it works fine. The V0.30 version included the Team Changer function as well and I think that is what causes it not to work in the 64 Bit environment. However, awhile back I reverted back to using his standalone "Team Changer" version and with it in combination with his V.23 of MVPEditor all functions work fine but of course with two tools versus his one MVPEditor tool V0.30 that incorporated all 3 of those function in it (Team Changer; Projector; Player Editor) which apparently only worked in the 32 Bit environment. Hope this Helps, Don
  13. Check the read me on his MVP Editor. I seem to recall it having a required download mentioned to make it compatible with 64 Bit systems. ........ Just double checked and it is actually in a file of his V0.30 MVPEditor Tool named "required.html" .... It states (and has links for the 2 requirements listed): "If you have 64 bit windows, you may need to install these: Microsoft Visual C++ 2008 Redistributable Package (x64) Microsoft .NET Framework Version 2.0 Redistributable Package (x64)"
  14. Thanks Jim & Dennis ..... what a Combo ! Truly makes this Mod come to Life ! I have read in many baseball publications that '41 was the Greatest Season of Baseball in it's history ! Thanks to all who helped with this fabulous mod I am about to find out what they were all talking/writing about ! Don
  15. I noticed several folks having this same issue of the game crashing after the June 9th Draft Day but I have never seen any resolutions to this problem posted. This normally occurs after some roster editing has been done with either Ty's Editor or Vlad's REditor. I had the same issue and I use both of those editors. The issue appears to be that after the Draft it does not release or reassign any of the drafted players thus each roster has > 25 players on them which will cause a crash. Here is how I got around the issue: 1) Participate in the Draft. 2) It then let's you at least go to the start of the June 9th Schedule after the draft is done. 3) Save the Franchise & Exit the game 4) Edit the saved Franchise with Vlad's REditor to reset all Teams back to 25 players in the PLNUM field of the Teams tab. 5) I also edited each player beyond player #25 with a -1 also found in each Teams Tab (not sure if this is necessary) 6) Saved the Franchise 7) Started the Game and loaded the Franchise and it worked fine through the World Series. Hope this helps those that are still having the problem. If anyone else was able to get around this problem in any other way I would be very appreciative to heard their method. Also, if anyone knows exactly what causes this problem to surface I would very much like to know this as well. Take Care, Don
