I'm, once again, on board with you KC .......... this has been a truly fabulous ride for many of us which I would like to perserve in anyway possible! I often tell my friends and family about our MVPMods community but they truly don't understand it even though they try to! Some enduring friendships have definitely developed because of MVPMods not to mention a real eye opening experience for many of those that really weren't familiar with the great history of this game they call "BASEBALL" !

Right here I think ..... http://www.mvpmods.com/index.php?app=downloads&showfile=6502

BRobby05, That would be fabulous ! 1971 would be a very welcomed season. For inputting rosters you likely should use Robert Glass's MVPEdit program. I think it can be found in the MVP 2005 Download Tools & Editors section. Also Dylans calculators are really good as well. Off the top of my head I would look into BIGGUI, NFshtool, LocLook, Walk-Up Music changer, InGame Music Importer, EAGraph etc ...... Jim can likely give you a list of the most appropriate tool set to use for almost any aspect of creating a full season mod. Please feel assured that we will help guide you as much as we possibly can. There are some great tutorials here on mvpmods that will help you along the way as well. Glad to hear about your interest ..............

Yankee4Life you are dead center on target --- The original Nippon mod was 3 parts and then came the Nippon/Asian Mod which was 8 parts. I fired it up a little while ago and it seems to play just fine. I really like the audio parts of this mod as it is filled with sounds of what you would expect to hear at a Japanese Baseball game played there ...... and the uniforms and logos were 1st rate. From what I recall it also contains a few Nippon League Stadiums as well --- didn't see any tonight as I played with the Giants, Swallows & Dragon which were not played in one of those parks. Don
-
Yep, I have a Nippon Baseball League mod that I think was eventually merged into an Asia Baseball Mod. There were many parts to these mods and I still have each part. I did install each of them -- the Nippon separately then the Asia one that included the Nippon teams. They work just fine from what I recall. As I recall the instructions were not in English so I just manually installed them and all went fine. Don

Homer, You take your time Podna ......... I know if you take your time and do it to your standards it will be a fabulous mod. I know I am "anxiously" awaiting it's release and will be thrilled when ever it arrives ! Thanks, Don

I've spent the entire day enjoying this masterpiece. WoW ! The entire MVP12 Team deserves the highest of accolades on producing this true Masterpiece of a Mod ! It truly is a work of pure beauty ! Thanks, Thanks, Thanks !

Hi Kyleb, Thanks for your contribution to MVP 2012. I have just downloaded it and will fire it up shortly. I know it will be a fabulous mod enjoyed by many including myself. Thanks Again ! As far as your concern regarding uncompressed files in TC62 & TC64. Yes, there are uncompressed files in the models.big and then there is that sole 2727.fsh one in the portraits.big file. The ones in the models.big as well as the 2727 one in the portraits.big are entries that are not used for any of the Major League Teams or players represented in the Mod thus they will not cause any crashes when using this mod as it was intended and.or built for. Perhaps if you attempt to play a minor league game (which the game is not intended nor built for) you will experience a crash. I use TiT extensively as well as it's predecessor the "Installer Thingy" and they seem to work fine for me. In fact you can export all those files out of models.big and then reinstall them with TiT or the "Installer Thingy" and they will compress each of them for you and same goes for that one 2727.fsh found in the portraits.big file. Or if you prefer just delete each of them. Thanks Again, Don

Thanks Yankee4Life for those gracious comments and excellent review of TC62. Much appreciated. 112155 & Yankee4Life, I have long been wanting to Synch up the '60s Mods with Strat-O-Matic Ratings since I too, like 112155, consider Strat-O-Matic the best at rating players attributes. Reason being is that Strat-O-Matics team of 4-5 baseball enthusiast dedicate some 1500+ hours to each season to rate the players in several categories and they do it from intensive research through box scores; magazine/newspaper articles; personal experience etc etc and not solely on Statistics. Then they gather around a table for almost a solid week to discuss and hash out their different opinions before coming to their final ratings for each player in each of those categories. I would have loved to have been sitting at that table with them during the '60s as I think I would have learned a lot more about the players of those years. Although, I purchased my 1st Strat-O-Matic board game in 1962 and again every year since through the late '70s so I think I know those players attributes fairly well from that. Now what I do to "Strat-O-Maticize" the Classics is a fairly simple but tedious manual process. I focus on aligning my ratings within the ranges of Strat-O-Matics for each player & pitcher in the following categories: Bunting; Steal Aggression; Baserunning; Speed; Fielding; Range; Throw Strength; Throw Accuracy; & Pickoff Move. Strat-O-Matic has those basic same categories and they rate them in ranges such as AAA<->E; 1<->20, -6<->+6, 1<->15 etc etc. So I do my normal Roster Building process including Importing from the Lahman Data Base; execute my Global Tweaks and even do my very intensive Individual Tweaks for each player/pitcher in those categories. Then I export my MVPEdit .mbe file into the games data/database directory which creates the attrib.dat file which contains all those players/pitchers with their ratings in each category. I then open that attrib.dat file as a .csv file into a spreadsheet and eliminate all but the 25 man roster players/pitchers from the Major League teams entries(rows). I then create columns for each of those 9 rating categories above that I will align with Strat-O-Matic and go to the Strat-O-Matic game and input each of it's ratings for each individual player/pitcher in those respective columns. I then move each of those columns next to it's relative MVP 2005 column such as Bunting. I then sort (like in the Bunting example) all entries by 1st Strat-O-Matic rating and then 2nd by MVP 2005's rating. I then have a very good picture of how all my assigned ratings from my Roster Building process line up with/compared to Strat-O-Matics and make adjustments accordingly with Strat-O-Matics being the rule/guide. In some categories such as Fielding & Range I do this process indivdiually by position (in such all 2nd basemen together; etc etc) ......... Then I take this spreadsheet info and manually make all the adjustments to each individual player/pitcher in my MVPEdit .mbe file and then export to the game. This process took me a little over a week for TC62 but to me it was very much worth the effort. I actually was very surprised ( and pleased to find out) how close my ratings coming out of my normal Roster Building Process was to Strat-O-Matics. In the typical players/pitchers with a fair amount of playing time there typically was only a slight change to a rating if any at all but, of course, with some of the lessor used player/pitchers the changes were much more dramatic. Knowing that ratings for such things as Throwing Arm Strength & Accuracy can seldom be accurate from using stats alone the Strat-O-Matic approach to me is the only way of getting this stuff as close to accurate as possible. That applies as well to those other categories I synched with Strat-O-Matics but perhaps to a lessor degree. So no --- No formulas were used to Strat-O-Maticize TC62 as I personally believe no formula can do as good of job as the Strat-O-Matic guys do in my opinion (and I wrote all the formulas for MVPEdit so I truly believe that). I do have plans to go back and Strat-O-Maticize the other '60s Mods in due time. I sincerely think the weeks plus effort is worth the gain. Take Care, Don

After much struggle with the city fathers of Los Angeles, Walter O'Malley finally opened his baseball emporium, Dodger Stadium, for the start of the 1962 season. O'Malley's highly regarded team drew a record 2,755,184 fans into the park, while pacing the National League all summer behind the star performances of Maury Wills, Tommy Davis and Don Drysdale. Of the trio, Wills proved the most exciting while en route to the league's MVP Award by committing the grandest theft act ever witnessed on major league turf --- 104 steals --- to break the 1915 mark of the legendary Ty Cobb. Davis, by hitting .346 and knocking in 153 runs, captured two of the major batting categories while Drysdale won the coveted Cy Young Award on the strength of his 25 victories. But all the individual glory could not make up for an unfortunate incident which took place on July 17, when ace southpaw Sandy Koufax was lost for the season with a circulatory ailment in his fingers. In the final 13 contests, the Dodgers could only win three, while the San Francisco Giants won seven to tie Los Angeles on the final day of the season. The Giants stayed in contention all year with an attack centered on home run leader Willie Mays, and the slugging of Orlando Cepeda and Felipe Alou. Jack Sanford won 16 games in a row ending up with 24 victories for the season combined with Billy O'Dell's 19, Juan Marichal's 18 and Billy Pierce's 16 gave the Giants a very formidable staff that would lead them over the Dodgers in the Best of 3 playoff series. In the American League, the fanfare took place before the final curtain. Cleveland, leading until the All-Star break, lost 19 of their next 24 games to drop into second division. While the Indians were faltering, the Los Angeles Angels and Minnesota Twins, the league's newest entries, were charging into contention. Although the joint efforts were commendable, both fell short. The Twins finished second on the strength of a strong batting attack, and the Angels third on the arms of their two colorful rookies, Dean Chance and Bo Belinsky. As usual, the Yankees were on top when the season closed even in an off year for the Bronx Bombers. ------------------------------------------- We hope this recreation of the 1962 Season brings enjoyment to both the seasoned veterans as well as the much younger Total Classics enthusiast that would like to trip back to see, hear & feel what it was all like in 1962. This project is a mere continuation of Total Classics. Much credit needs to be extended to the "Entire" Total Classics Team for creating such an interest in Oldtime Classic Baseball. Much "Thanks" & "Appreciation" to the so many MVPModders that have contributed so much to the overall Total Classics experience and continue to do so today. This includes those Cyberface modders; Stadium modders; Uniform modders; Roster modders; Audio modders; Bats Balls & ALL !!! To Everyone "Thanks So Much for the Joy you have brought to so Many of Us!" ------------------------------------------- *** TIDBITS *** A ) This mod was built for the complete replay of the 1962 Major League Baseball Season. Thus, the use of Dynasty Mode for a single season is recommended. Although other Major League teams are represented in this mod they have not been fully tested but likely are OK to use in Exhibition Play. B ) It is "HIGHLY RECOMMENDED" that you -TURN OFF - Trades, Call Ups & Injuries to maintain the opening day 25 man rosters intact throughout the season. C ) It is recommended that you install TC62 over a clean install of MVP Baseball 2005 with at least up to Patch #2. D ) It will be necessary for you to install a Profile that UnLocks all Classic Uniforms. Robert Glass's unlock profile is provided in the "Extras" directory. E) In the directory where you install TC1962 you will find a subdirectory named Extras. This directory includes: 1) The most up todate MVPEdit .mbe file for TC62. 2) A file named Sliders.doc which are the slider setting used to validate the realism & accuracy of this mod during CPU vs CPU style games. You may choose to try these out. 3) A file named Glass_Profile.sav which is a profile to unlock everything. This file should be placed in your My Documents MVP Baseball 2005directory if you care to use it. 4) A copy of the TC62 Readme file. ------------------------------------------- *** VERSION HISTORY *** v1.0 Initial release -
wg1981, It sounds like a 2004 vs 2005 face setting symptom to me. If you are familiar with MVPEdit you can correct this problem on a player by player basis. Cyberfaces are built using either a MVP 2004 model type or a 2005 model type and it must be set properly for each player to avoid the type of problem you explain above. MVPEdit provides you this capability not only to view which type it is but also to set it properly.

Mickey Mantle Audio Problem In Total Classics
stecropper replied to dennisjames71's topic in Support
Hey Dennis, If I recall correctly you might want to check out Ernie Banks as well. I think he had the basic same problem Mantle did when converting directly to the Legends mod. Of course, there are others as well but those are the two Star players I can recall. TC61 & TC64 (the most recent versions) are aligned correctly with the Legends mod & TC67 & TC69 will remain with Kuiper & Krukow. Take Care, Don -
Jeff, If you used the same audio/photo ID #s in the TC64 set for your new Portraits you should upload your new portraits.big file as an addition to TC64 mod. I am sure many of us would appreciate it and like to have it. I wish I could offer some help on that staduim backdrop idea you have but I have no expertise in that arena however I do not believe what you are looking for can be done. That video you posted would be a great addition to the Intro videos if some one knew how to get it into the correct format to be used in the game. That too you should upload as a mod of yours. You're roll'n Man ! Don

Widescreen Native To Mvp Baseball 2005 -- Yes It Is
stecropper replied to stecropper's topic in Support
Hey Homer, I've been playing on that resolution for a very long time as well but with a different video card and connection. It always was in normal Full Screen mode while playing it in that resolution with the old video card and connection. But now in that resolution with the new video card & HDMI cable it automatically switches to widescreen as the game begins. That never happened before and even now if I drop down to a lower resolution it reverts back to the normal Full Screen mode and not Widescreen. I had tried the stretching method of widescreen in the past and never enjoyed it much and would always revert back to normal Full Screen. But now I set nothing and widescreen is presented and it certainly is not in stretch mode. I certainly acknowledge I could be missing something here but all I am certain of is the game is now playing in a non stretched widescreen and this has all started by me switching to the HDMI cable on a new video card. All other elements of my setup have not changed. Take Care Homer, Don -
Jeff, Send a PM to Jim825 with the information and I am certain he will correct the situation.

Widescreen Native To Mvp Baseball 2005 -- Yes It Is
stecropper replied to stecropper's topic in Support
I'd be more than happy to post a couple images if someone would show me how to place an image in a post. But, looks like Kyleb has already shown his native widescreen. I think the key is having an approxiate video card with HDMI connection hooked into an HD capable monitor or TV using HDMI. I will double check the resolutions used once I get back to my computer later this evening. But I am certain that it automatically goes to Widescreen only when using the highest resolution and when using the other lower resolutions it displays in normal Full Screen mode. I don't set my HDTV on widescreen or set any settings for widescreen any place else. It just goes to widescreen automatically with this connection setup and highest resolution set in the game. Don SPECS: NVIDIA GeForce GT430 1TB DirectX11 Dell Desktop Inspiron 620 6MB VIZIO 47" HDTV 1280 X 1024 X 32 (used) (all other lower resolutions are also "X 32s" as well -- I seem to remember on my previous setup some were "x 16s" -
Jeff, In the Tools / Options box it should be set to just the MVP Baseball2005/data directory not the data/database directory. When you Import or Export you need to point it to the data/database directory and not just the data directory. You will get the hang of all of this is time --- it just takes a little trial and error. If you do not see the current existing Portraits when you pull up a player then you don't have it pointed properly.

Guys, I'm not sure if this has been discussed here before (I searched and couldn't find anything) but I recently purchased a new video card and hooked my Widescreen HDTV to it via the HDMI cable and noticed that in the highest resolution setting the game automatically went to Widescreen (non stretched) when a game began. All other lower resolutions were still being displayed in the normal Full Screen mode. I then hooked it up using a standard monitor display cable (VGA) and even at the highest resolution it was back to the old normal Full Screen mode and not Widescreen. Needless to say I set it back to using the HDMI cable and Widescreen is absolutely stunning ! There is definitely more field being displayed as I can tell from where some of the ingame overlay boxes are. There is more room on either side of them and nothing is stretched. Some of the Stadiums appear nearly 3D looking - especially beyond the outfield fences. I feel certain others already know this but I couldn't find any thing mentioned in the forums about the use of an HDMI cable hooked to an HD Monitor or TV would provide this unstretched Widescreen.

Oh Jeff before you go to far with your Portraits you might want to investigate the 2XPortraits. I plan on messing with them on my next project if there is a next project but I havn't experimented with them as of yet. I believe them to be 256X256 bmps vs the 128X128 which would be really good for the high quality Photos you have in your collection.

Jeff, Got a short break from my company so here goes a quick response (hopefully it makes some sense): 1) The game engine can't be modded so relievers basically perform more like the 2000s vs the 1940s or so. But with MVPEdit you can set things in the Manager Team Tendacies area like how often do you pull a starter, how often you use pinch hitters etc etc. This does help out a bit in this situation. Plus giving Pitchers more Stamina keeps them in longer. I have many complete games from starters. But it is definitely leaning more towards the 2000s than the earlier years due to how the game engine is programmed. Things like not having a 4 man rotation for computer controlled teams is also a game engine factor we have to live with. But these truly are minimal. 2) Using a still photo as a stadium backdrop is likely non doable. But I am not a stadium modder so I would have to leave that to them to answer with certainty but I do know a tad bit about how this game works and I don't think that can be done. Perhaps it would be best to talk over the phone about some of your questions since it appears you are going to jump head first into this game and these tools. The more you play it the more you appreciate how grand it is. Send me an email at stecropper at aol dot com and I will provide you my cell phone number. I love talking to folks about this game. Don

Jeff, This will be quick but I wanted to at least point you in the right direction with MVPEdit. I am not on my computer so I will be writing this from memory. MVPEdit is a tool that allows you to edit the things found in the games data/database directory. Mostly player ratings, attributes & stats and such. You first must have an .mbe file that MVPEdit works with. You can IMPORT from MVPEdit the files located in the games data/database directory to CREATE an .mbe file that you give a unique name to. You can also just copy an existing .mbe file and place it into the MVPEdit directory like the one found in the Install files of some mods. Once you edit it then you must EXPORT it back to the games data/database directory for it to take effect. Make certain during the IMPORT & EXPORT functions that you are pointing to the data/database directory not just the data directory. Updating Portraits with MVPEdit you have to have the .bmp 128X128 files in the MVPEdit directory (normally you would use a separate directory you created within the MVPEdit directory that contains all the Portraits you plan on using). You then go to a player and click on his Portrait and a pop up screen comes up that allows you to change his Portraits to a New One by clicking and pointing to the new one). This change happens immediately to the games data/frontend/portraits.big file. But you have to have MVPEdit OPTIONS (I think found under the Tools tab) pointing to the correct MVP Baseball 2005/data directory.

Jeff, One of the most valuable Tools developed by tywiggins (I think?) is the Team Changer. It allows you to switch between teams you are controlling during a dynasty and even has a function that let's you play each and every game on the schedule if you care too (that function does not work very well during the Playoffs however). There is also a boxscore saver, also by tywiggins, that allows you to save the boxscores at the conclusion of each game. But, you are right -- if you don't play a game you cannot view it's boxscore but you can at least see the linescore for every game. And you also can not view the up to the minute scores of other games during the course of the game you are playing. But you can see the scores and linescore for each game that day before and after the game you played that day by visiting the Schedule area. Other great tools, which I use a great deal, are the MVPSavReader tool that produces up-to-date Standings; League Leaders; Team Stats; Individual Player Stats by Team; etc etc ..... The MVPEditor (not to be confused with Robert Glasses MVPEdit tool) allows you to change player attributes during the course of a dynasty. MVPEdit by Robert Glass is what many of us use to edit Player attributes (but not during Dynasty play). There is also the fabulous Ratings Calculators by DylanBradury that many also use to create players. Other than those mentioned above I use the Playoff Creator & Short Season Projector a great deal. BTW --- I have used 98 of your 1962 Baseball Cards to update my Portraits for TC62. I actually made a couple from your set that were missing (Ruben Gomez, CLV & Jim Marshall PIT). I only replaced those Players Portraits in TC62 that did not have an actual individual Topps 1962 Card published with yours. But as you can see out of 500 active Players in TC62 almost 25% of them didn't have an individual 1962 Topps Baseball Card that year. Yours that I used are identified via a small white dot in the lower right corner. Take Care & Thanks Again for those fabulous Baseball Cards --- they will certainly make any future project I undertake a lot easier while enhancing the quality of the Portraits as well. In TC62 the quality of the Portraits are not exceptionally high but I rather think that adds to the realism of the mod because in 1962 TV Sets weren't that clear either. Don

Jeff, In Dynasty mode for "most" of the Total Classics Mods you will want to turn off Call Ups, Trades, Injuries etc as only the 25 players on the Major League Teams are accurate. The Minors are not represented accurately in many of the Total Classic mods (but are in a some of the most recent years mods) thus if you leave those things on then the rosters will become really mixed up with non accurate players for those years. In TC61* and all other prior years TC Mods that didn't play a full 162 games in each league you will need to use the Short Season Projector tool in order to advance to the Playoffs. Then you would likely want to use the Playoff Creator Tool to make certain your playoff matchups are like they should be. The game has a hard coded rule that you have to have 3 divisions in each league with a minimum of 2 teams in each league thus the league alignments are not as they were in those specific years but the Playoff Creator Tool allows you to adjust the Playoffs/Series Participants according to how the overall standings were for your Dynasty. Jeff, The uniforms (along with fonts for uniform #s; fonts for player names; player faces; umpire uniforms and more) are contained within the models.big file in the main "data" directory. There are several ways to update models.big such as with Kraws InstallerThingy; Kraws TiT; EAGraph; Biggui etc etc etc. There should be instructions in the forums on how to use those things. I use Kraws InstallerThingy which was his predecessor to the more functionally rich TiT tool. However, the TC69 Uniforms for the Montreal Expos are correct for 1969. You may have overridden them with another mods files. Check to see if they have the 1969 100 Years patch on their sleeves --- if not then you have likely overridden them with another mods models.big files. In most Total Classic mods you should seldom have to update any uniforms or stadiums (etc.) as most are current versions. But, of course, occassionally there might be an updated version available. Just make sure you are using the Total Classics Mod in it's entirety and don't have mods mixed up between each other ---- otherwise things are going to be pretty mixed up in many ways. You can check the date the specific Total Classic Mod was last updated and feel fairly comfortable any individual uniform, stadium, etc etc type mods prior to that date have been included. Jarry Park "perhaps" is not the most current version in the lastest release of TC69. If not, then you can pull one from the download section and install it. In the one I have currently installed on my system it is the most current version but I am unsure if I have installed it since I last uploaded TC69. TC62, in all honesty should have been released a month or so ago as I was extremely close to finishing it but got caught up finishing a TC64 Dynasty I was playing while building TC62 because that Dynasty became very interesting entering the September part of the schedule. I have just finished that TC64 World Series a 7 game fiasco between the White Sox & Giants so I will now be getting back to finishing up TC62 after a month or so total absence from working on it. But to give you an estimate on when it will be available is something we just don't do around here anymore because we never know what might take us away from working on these mods. But as you might suspect it should be within a month or two, perhaps sooner --- then again perhaps later. Don

okcochise, Sounds like a problem with the installs to me more so than a problem with your computer or files getting corrupted already. Make certain you install each separate TC Mod year into a completely separate clean/new version of MVP 2005 Baseball with the 2nd or later patch installed. Then once installed you can rename that directly to what ever you wish so it is unique from the others. Installing these Full Season Mods on top of each other results in problems. There is a thread in here on how easy it is to install Multiple Years of TC Mods on the same computer. Heck, I have like 20+ of them installed on mine. Really glad you are enjoying these. Please let of know of any issues and/or ideas/suggestions you may have. We always appreciate hearing from those using these mods. Take Care & Keep Swingin' that Bat ! Don
