The Legends from the Booth project (Vin, Mel & Ernie) was done by OTBJoel. That project is probably the most amazing thing/accomplishment I have had the pleasure of experiencing from this site. It was over 3 years in the making and that was at a very aggressive and consistent pace. Like many/most of the mods here --- they are 1st personal mods done typically by individuals that make them initially for their own use (thus in their own preferred way) and then secondarily for the purpose of sharing them with the members here at mvpmods. I too am a huge fan of Ernie Harwell from BBW and realize the massiveness of his audios in that game in both play-by-play and player names. But trust me, so does OTBJoel. He is truly a Master at all that Baseball Announcers audio stuff as he had done that level of Legends from the Booth mod for the High Heat game as well. Although Harwell's available audio clips may be much more broad than Vin's are I certainly understand the choice of making Vin Scully the primary Announcer in the booth due to his popularity being much more broad than Ernie's. Plus I believe OTBJoel had spent a good deal of time on the West Coast where certainly Vin's voice is much better known & recognized than Ernie's. But what ever the reason --- I am so thankful he perservered those several years and allowed us to enjoy such a MasterPiece of work. Don

okcochise Thanks for noticing LA Wrigley in TC61* not being the most accurate version. Reason being is TC61* was released initially prior to that version being available and then unfortunately overlooked for the latest update of TC61* last year. It is now part of TC61* base and much appreciated that you pointed it out. TC61* is going to have one final update once it under goes what I term being Strat-O-Maticized. The upcoming TC62 has already been Strat-O-Maticized and each other of the '60s Mods will be eventually as well. Strat-O-Maticizing is a process I now go through to synch all of the players ratings for Bunting, Steal Aggressiveness, Base Running, Speed, Fielding, Range, Throwing Accuracy & Arm Strength with those reflected in that specific year within the Strat-O-Matic game. Also Pitchers Pick-Off rating. I have a very high regard for the accuracy of Strat-O-Matics ratings and feel this final touch for these full season mods truly enhances their realism. Thanks Again, Don

It's a bit more to it than dropping them into a folder like some games allow you too if the naming conventions are in synch. But it is not that difficult to do and there is a tutorial in here (I think) on how to do portraits are if not a tutorial then a thread or two on the subject. Each has to be done independently, from what I know, but the process (and there are several ways to do it with different tools being used) is fairly straight forward and easy. I create the 128X128 BMP image in Photoshop (or something like that) and then just use MVPEdit (by Robert Glass) to import them into the portraits.big file found in the data/frontend folder of the game. okcochise, Yes, I have replayed every fulll season 1960s mods (61,64,67,69) multiple times and the results are exceptionally close to real life -- by Team & by Player. I have almost completed full seasons for 1946,51,56,74,75 & 78 as well and those too seem to be exceptionally close to real life. So, the basic answer to your question is most certainly you will get realistic results (although, a lot depends on your datafile, sliders & game level you use as well). I have finished downloading each of your Baseball Card files from game front and they are amazingly well done. Thanks so much for these - they are Great ! Would you allow me to use some of your 1962's in my upcoming TC62 mod? I have actually completed the Portraits for the TC62 Mod but some of your Baseball Cards will enhance it a good deal. Thanks Again, Don
-
Yep, Just start the game like you are going to control either one or both of the teams and then before the first pitch of the game go to the menu and set each Team as Computer controlled. Then both teams are then on automatic and you really don't have to touch it again ---- just sit back and enjoy watching it unfold. I have watched well over 3000 of those games and trust me --- each one is different and I still see new things happen almost every game !

okcochise, Your likes are very much in line with mine regarding both the player portraits as well as the game play. I don't even own a joystick and play strictly CPU vs CPU games. I have messed with Manager mode only so slightly as I enjoy the management decision aspects of the games too. But with the massive & marvelous graphics updates done to this game by so many modders via stadiums, uniforms, cyberfaces, bats, gloves, audio etc etc I felt Manager mode wasn't my thing due to missing out on all that beauty of the games graphics. Thus I just play it as if I were watching it on TV and take an occassional Manager type action such as pinch hit, pinch run, pitcher change, etc. but basically just let it unfold on it's own. By the way ---- I have visited your link above to Game Front and can see the individual season downloads listed but IE crashes with each one I try to download ...... I have tried it on an XP, Vista & Windows 7 machine but all 3 crash when initiating any of the seasons download buttons. Any ideas why ? Don

Yep that is likely the easiest way to get it done. Thanks Yankee4life. But if he wants a profile here is the link to one here at mvpmods .............. http://www.mvpmods.com/index.php?app=downloads&showfile=1208 Thanks Again, Don

okocise, You need to have one of the profiles placed in your game that unlocks all the locked retro uniforms for them to be able to be used. Most of the Total Classic mods incorporate one within them and all you would need to do is copy it to your my documents MVP 2005 Baseball folder for your particular game. The most frequently used one, I think, is the RGlass one.

okcochise, I would be very interested in having the link to your collection. I have a very similar one but likely not as good a quality as yours and it is only from 1960-69. In fact, I am in the final stages of a TC62 mod which uses solely Topps 1962 baseball cards for the players photos plus the over all theme for the entire mod is focused around the Topps 1962 baseball card set. Thanks, Don

Be patient on eBay and you can find the game for a reasonable price these days. Here's one I bought for $26 (shipping included) just 2 weeks ago. http://www.ebay.com/itm/130688734238?ssPageName=STRK:MEWNX:IT&_trksid=p3984.m1439.l2649 ---- just set your own reasonable price and place a bid at that level on every one you see on ebay that seems ok to you for that price and if you are truly reasonable with yourself about the price then likely you will get one in time. Good Luck. -
Thanks Jim --- your efforts in making this happen is greatly appreciated ! The '06 Mod would be another great one to have available here. I also have the '07 & '10 Mods I got from EAMods but I think I had to piece meal them together as there wasn't a complete all-in-one mod available for them. I could be wrong on those two though! Thanks Again, Don

Kraw, How wonderful it is to see you around here again. You have contributed so much to this game I was desperately hoping you would not forsake us! Thanks to you for all the oh so many things you have done for this fabulous game! You are truly one of the Kingpens of this Great Oldtime Classics Baseball phenomena we have going here! Don
-
Hory, First off it's great to see you around here! What is the approximate version date of this spectacular 1994 Mod? Is it the exact same version that was last available on EAMods or have you made any changes what-so-ever to it since. I currently have the latest version from EAMods and have an active Dynasty in place with it thus if there are any changes to the one you just uploaded here I will grab it quick! Thanks for all the many things you have done for this fabulous game ! Don
-
Danc - I agree with Jim. Many of the audio #'s have been changed to align with Joel's Legends From The Booth and thus would not be in sync with the Dynasty you have going on. Most other changes would likely be OK as your Dynasty would use the newer versions like uniforms (even though some slots have changed), select screens, stadiums etc. None of the players ratings or pitch types would take effect as your Dynasty would use the same ones that were first loaded when you created the Dyansty. My suggestion would be to complete your Dyansty then reinstall this version from scratch. Yankee4Life & 112155 --- Thanks much. I agree that this game continues to amaze me the more I play it --- even after 1000s of games I almost always see or hear something new and the more I tinker with sliders/ratings and such (even to this day) the more realistic it becomes. I think even though many of us declare this game the best of all times I think none of us give it the full credit it truly deserves. Truly, the more one plays this game the more they appreciate it. That is why I have decided, just recently, to continue to create more full season mods ---- this game is just too darn good not to! The pipeline for this game is far from drained ! I think I can speak for my good friends Jim, AlexTony, Joel, Dennis & Frank ..... we ain't going nowhere ...... It just doesn't get much better than this for us Oldtime Baseball Classic enthusiast. I hope you enjoy this upgraded TC64 ........... Don

CutterTML, The 1994 Mod can be downloaded from EAMods.com. It is in the Classics section. It is an exceptional piece of work by Hory. The reason I decided to use parts of the 1994 Mod as an add-on to baseballfans All-Time Fan Favorite mod - mainly - is because it has the Montreal Expos in it and it includes as part of it's mod all teams with the exception of the last 2 franchises the Rays & the D'Backs. But even with those 2 teams they have all their original stuff from the base game still in the 1994 Mod. I am talking about audios, uniforms, logos, stadiums mostly ......... So with the combination of Total Classics V10's player name audios and all this stuff from the 1994 Mod then this All-Time Fan Favorite Mod really becomes a very good mod to play with. Not complete --- but also not far from complete in my opinion. Don

baseballfan, I would love to send the files to you but a few of them are huge files and I am unable to send them via email plus they are Hory's files from his fabulous 1994 Mod which I have not gained his permission. 112155, I check in frequently but seldom have anything to add but like seeing old faithful pros still visiting here such as yourself. This Classics stuff still has years ahead for us diehards I think! Take Care, Don .

baseballfans; Here's something I tried and it really works well with your mod. It basically is utilizing some of the Total Classics V10 audios and a fair amount of other things from the 1994 Mod. From Total Classics V10 (player name audios): Copy over the pnamehdr file into the audio/spch_pdp directory Copy over the pnamedat file into the audio/cd/spch_pdp directory From the 1994 Mod: Copy over the tnamehdr & stdnamehdr files into the audio/spch_pbp directory Copy over the tnamedat & stdnamedat files into the audio/cd/spch_pbp directory Copy over the datafile.big file into the datafile directory Copy over the uniforms; logos; & stadiums.big files into the frontend directory Copy over the entire Stadium Directory Copy over the FEENG & IGENG loc files (I also had a sbcpday.txt and sbcpnite.txt file in the 1994 data directory so I copied them over too but not sure if that wasn't personalized after my initial 1994 install) Then export all the Uxxxx (Uniform files from 0-32) and Fxxx (Font files from 0-32) from the 1994 models.big file and import them back into your models.big file (I use Biggui to export them and imported them with the Installer Thingy tool) This really makes your mod very playable with basically only a few portraits & audios (for missing ones) updates needed along with any unique mod type of visual screen stuff. I assume that your Rosters, as far as player & pitcher ratings, should not be considered Beta but rather the final and all other enhancements should be more of the cosmetic types. Thanks so much for your work --- it is a lot of fun to play, Don

Thanks baseballfans. This is a very welcomed mod and your work with it is greatly appreciated. I have it downloaded and was thinking of implementing either the Total Classics V10 audio files done by AlexTony or the Legends from the Booth audio files done by OTBJoel. I think either of these sets of audio files will work fine with your mod but wanted to ask your opinion of which set of audio files do you think would match up better with your mod? I, as you stated, hope others help you enhance your mod with some of those add ons. Thanks Again, Don

By stecropper and Team Classics The Total Classics Best of the 50's and 60's mod brings together some of the best teams of the 1950's and 60's for dynasty play. Each of these teams was taken from Total Classics Phase 10. A handful of teams from outside the 50's and 60's were included to round out each league. The following teams are included: American League 1970 Baltimore Orioles 1941 Boston Red Sox 1959 Chicago White Sox 1965 Cleveland Indians 1968 Detroit Tigers 1962 Los Angeles Angels 1965 Minnesota Twins 1953 New York Yankees 1952 Philadelphia A's 1969 Washington Senators National League 1954 Chicago Cubs 1970 Cincinnati Reds 1966 Houston Astros 1965 Los Angeles Dodgers 1957 Milwaukee Braves 1962 New York Mets 1950 Philadelphia Phillies 1960 Pittsburgh Pirates 1962 San Francisco Giants 1968 St. Louis Cardinals ------------------------------------------- *** VERSION HISTORY *** v1.0 Initial release ------------------------------------------- *** INSTALLATION *** Installation can be done using the supplied installer or by manually copying the files to your game folder. Complete instructions with screenshots are included with the mod. ------------------------------------------- *** NOTES *** 1) This mod was built for dynasty play using some of the best teams from the 1950's & 60's. Dynasty Mode for a single season is recommended, however, the mod has been completely tested for Exhibition mode as well. 2) Only the 20 major league teams listed above have been created and are available. All other major league teams have been emptied. No changes were made to any of the minor league teams. If you play a dynasty, it is HIGHLY recommended that you turn off trades & injuries to maintain the opening day 25 man rosters intact throughout the season. 3) You MUST use a profile that has the retro uniforms unlocked. If you do not, some of the uniforms may not show up (since some of them use the retro uniform slots). ------------------------------------------- This project is an extension of Total Classics. Credit needs to be extended to the entire Total Classics team for creating such an interest in Oldtime Classic Baseball. Hopefully this mod will inspire others to create more full season mods. Thanks and appreciation also go out to the the many MVPModders that have contributed so much to the overall Total Classics experience and continue to do so today. This includes those Cyberface modders, Stadium modders, Uniform modders, Roster modders, Audio modders, etc. ------------------------ Enjoy! -
