  1. I'd be glad to share my story with MVP Baseball and MVP Caribe I've also met a lot of great people, I have the honor to call some of them "my brothers"... I'm in.
  2. Hello, guys! First of all, I'd like to inform that the MVP Caribe Team is working very hard to bring you the World Baseball Classic on MVP Baseball 2005 like we did in 2009. Here are some uniform / manager jacket previews: (I'll remove the Adidas logo of everyone but Cuba's). In-game: A few details about this mod: *All WBC teams will be available (Main Tournament and Qualifiers) *It will be available here in the MVPmods.com download section. *We think it might be uploaded by saturday or sunday. Any other question about the mod, post it here. *If you are a modder and want your work to be in the game (stadiums, faces, and more) please post here so we can use your files in this mod, we'll mention your names in the credits* Thanks for the support. -Héctor
  3. Thank you so much Homer!
  4. Hello everybody, nice to be back once again. I'm looking for this template, I've searched everywhere and I cant find it, all help will be apreciated, thanks in advance! EDIT: File wasn't attached, sorry. 0001.BMP
  5. Good afternoon, can you upload the newest excel file of the ID list? I need it for MVP Caribe 2012. Thanks in advance!
  6. Gotta love this Aerosmith version of "Dream On" with Orchestra. Yeah, I've been lost from this site for a while but I'll try to be here more regularly :)
  7. Awesome review Y4L, thanks for downloading the game. To get a full Caribe experience I suggest you to change the day/night settings when choosing stadiums since the ones with the text "En construccion" are Caribe stadiums that haven't been built but every team has at least the night or day version of its real stadium. Also, put the DH rule to both leagues, since Mexico/Dominican Republic are the National League teams they appear with the DH rule OFF, turning it ON will get you closer to the real deal. I'll tell the other modders to come here and check this review. Thanks again! Also, Pat Venditte (the Yankees ambidextrous pitcher) is also featured before the intro where Apolo is. You can see it here: youtube.com/watch?v=-RB13_RPSRg I had to be the catcher for him to get this video done haha. Apolo is a friend of mine that has a radio program here in Obregon and it's great talking to the camera, we went up to the place where the TV camera is placed for the Home plate view and filmed it during a game. The main purpose of the intro is to show people how MVP Caribe has grown in the past years years because this version conmemorates the 5th anniversary of MVP Caribe (February 12th 2007) and also to remember the plays that were important during that period of time, that's why you can see plenty of championships, walkoff homeruns, Jose Offerman beating an umpire, and more (link to the intro (spanish): youtube.com/watch?v=09wDq7Aj9ds I'll upload a subtitled version soon :)
  8. Hi guys, I'm back after an absence because of MVP Caribe 2011 and university studies but I come here to share this that happened to me yesterday: Yo guys might remember Pat Venditte http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=FtofU1hgf2w the switch pitcher that was drafted by the Yankees years ago, well, he's pitching here in Mexico and on friday his team (Mexicali) played here in Obregon for the first time in the season, it was awesome to see him, so yesterday I went to the field (I got a press pass for the season because of MVP Caribe ) when he was on practice I aproached to him and we had a nice conversation, he's an awesome guy and he told me he played MVP Baseball 2005 and asked me if I could give him a copy of MVP Caribe and one of the polo-style shirts I made for MVP Caribe, I said I'd give them to him if he helped me with a promo for MVP Caribe 2011, he agreed so today I'm going to pick him up at his hotel and we'll go to the ballpark to get the video for the Caribe mod. I'll post pictures later!
  9. Y4L, I always come here on sunday to read your Sunday Thoughts, they're interesting BTW, Jorge Vazquez who helped my team Yaquis de Obregon win the Caribbean Series with 2 bombs (SEE: ) Both were in key moments of the series, he's now 3-3 in 2 games of spring training with 2 HR's and 3 RBI's. I hope he can make the team. He drove in 76 last year in AAA Scranton/Wilkes-Barre (only 75 games).
  10. Also, here's a pic that appeared in the newspaper today of the Caribbean Series championship parade where I appear haha (take a look on the left side of the picture): http://a6.sphotos.ak.fbcdn.net/hphotos-ak-snc6/179840_500555922594_575257594_6748101_4510537_n.jpg Also for Yankee4Life, a blast to the past, a picture of myself with Karim Garcia who hit two HR's in the Caribbean Series: http://a3.sphotos.ak.fbcdn.net/hphotos-ak-snc6/168080_500382522594_575257594_6745921_2108721_n.jpg
  11. Here's a video of the celebration in the streets, it's in spanish but you don't need to understand it http://www.facebook.com/#!/video/video.php?v=10150127196811005&oid=119228524785604&comments
  12. Well guys, I think I might have spoken too soon about the best day of my life... Today, after a hard Caribbean Series, my team Yaquis de Obregon won the Caribbean World series in the last day (link in english: http://mlb.mlb.com/news/article.jsp?ymd=20110207&content_id=16592764&vkey=news_mlb&c_id=mlb ) It's the first time that my team wins the biggest prize of caribbean baseball, sixth time in 40 years that Mexico wins it, it was chaos on my city today! People celebrating in the main street of the city jumping and waving Mexican flags. It was amazing to see it! The best thing is that I'll be able to be on the parade with the players this week! I cant wait!
  13. Here's the picture of me kissing the trophy, you might notice the MVP Caribe team logo in my shirt
  14. Yesterday was the BEST day of my F+++ING LIFE! I'll tell you guys the story: Friday, Game 6 of the Mexican Pacific League Championship. Yaquis de Obregón (my team) was playing against Guasave here in Obregon, Obregon had a 3-2 advantage in the series and 5 outs away they blew a 2 run lead and lost the game, game 7 in less than 24 hours, I felt very, very depressed. Saturday, Game 7 I went to the stadium with my head up waiting and hoping to see a championship of my team, it would be the first celebrated here in Obregon in more than 30 years (they won in Mazatlan in 2008 but it wasn't the same). I went to the field as always before the game to talk with some players and wish them good luck, then I went to the Press box where my other press friends were going to watch the game, it became full so I left to another VIP place with some Yaquis' office people and saw my team go up 5-1, I left that VIP place in the bottom of the 8th inning because I wanted to celebrate with the press guys since they helped me a lot. My surprise was that in the top of the 9th they would left the Press Box and get to the field, I went with them too and watched the last 3 outs next to the dugout, Out 27 came with a strikeout that Luis Ayala delivered to win the championship. The Yaquis were crowned champs. I ran to the field full of joy and hugged Yaquis press manager who helped me during the season, then I celebrated with the team jumping with them, hugging the players of the team, they sprayed a me with champagne and beer (I stole an empty champagne bottle of the celebration which I'll take to the training in Obregon before the Caribbean Series start in Puerto Rico with a pen so the team signs it for me). The trophy ceremony came and I shaked hands with League President Omar Canizales and saw he deliver the trophy to the team a few meters from there, and I ran like 4 or 5 times with the team in the infield doing the olympic run as we call it here. Then the best part came, I had the trophy with me and lifted it up and then I kissed it, it was awesome!!!!!!!!!!! (the best part is that I have professional pictures of it that I'll post when I get them). Then I went to the clubhouse to celebrate with them and left after some minutes. I cried of the emotion when I got to my car, I couldn't believe it. Then I realized of the chaos in the city, the most important street of the city was full of people drinking, hearing music and celebrating, there even was people running with Wal-Mart carts with beer inside of them! It was the best day of my life. Imagine being able to celebrate the World Series with the players of your team in the field, then take the trophy with your hands and kiss it. That's how I felt. I just wanted to share this with you guys. :)
  15. As I promissed here is the video of the TV Azteca interview with 2 payers (Adan Munoz of Navojoa and Luis Mendoza of Obregon). It's in spanish but you don't need to speak spanish to understand that Mendoza is pitching to Munoz. Today I wanted to share two things that happened to me in this last two days. (It ain't sunday but I don't think I'll be here on sunday). On wednesday morning I recieved a call from the Yaquis de Obregón team, they wanted me to throw the first pitch of Game 4 of the playoff series between our biggest rival, Hermosillo. I immediately accepted and delivered a strike while very nervous in front of 10,000 fans, when I threw the pitch the team showed a video of MVP Caribe in the big screen of the ballpark, it was a great moment and the ball was signed by plenty of Yaquis players... but it wasn't the best part. Yesterday (thursday), I saw in the news that Joakim Soria would throw the first pitch of game 5 at 7 PM and I arrived at 6:20 PM. Since the team gave me a Press Pass for this season I have the opportunity to go down to the field to show the videogame to the players and watch batting practice, well I arrived to see my hero and waited until 7 PM, press and media from all over the city, the state and even the country was there waiting for Soria in the VIP entrance to the field, not the lockers door that takes the players to the dugouts, that's where I waited. I heard many of the press guys say "Lucky the one that gets something signed, a picture or an interview with Soria". Then I was lucky, Soria arrived to the field using the lockers door and not the VIP access. I was the first to talk to him and asked him to sign a baseball and to pose for a picture with me. It was awesome and I even got to talk to him for more than a minute and shaked his hand to say goodbye wishing him luck (I also told him to think about joining the Yankees since we don't want any heart attack relievers any more haha). And that's how I got a picture with one of my heroes, Joakim Soria. Picture here: http://sphotos.ak.fbcdn.net/hphotos-ak-snc4/hs1393.snc4/164563_483435772594_575257594_6501871_6223237_n.jpg
  16. Good afternoon guys, a few days ago I had a press conference in the Yaquis de Obregón clubhouse with the team president and some players (including the one on my sig) and it appeared on the most popular news paper in my state pic here: http://sphotos.ak.fbcdn.net/hphotos-ak-snc4/hs1237.snc4/156967_1572871033979_1001628990_31301531_1304602_n.jpg I also printed a cover I made for Caribe 2010 which features Agustin Murillo and he signed it too! I got it hanged up in my bedroom to remember that moment, you can see it here: http://sphotos.ak.fbcdn.net/hphotos-ak-snc4/hs1355.snc4/162789_472028933070_54905108070_5715053_1848743_n.jpg Yesterday I got in touch with someone related to TV Azteca (one of the two biggest national networks) and they are willing to make a little segment about MVP Caribe this week, they'll take me with them to Navojoa to watch one game of the Obregon vs Navojoa series that will end the season and in the segment a Obregon player will play MVP Caribe against a Navojoa player, awesome! Just wanted to share that with you my friends :)
  17. Enjoy it fellow Yankee fans! http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=9Nnm0KkMadU
  18. -Jorge Posada had a triple on tuesday against the A's, can't believe you forgot about that one Y4L -Speaking of Jorge's, I'd like to see the Yanks calling up Jorge Vazquez from Scranton-Wilkes/Barre, the guy has power and could be a helpful player on the bench. -My university baseball trainings are going great, I've worked as a pitcher and also as a 1B and 3B but I almost injuried my right ankle on wednesday running to first base on a ground ball to short but hey, at least I did beat the throw -Yesterday I went to my city's downtown and found a little Sports Store and found a nice Mariano Rivera collectors figure at a very cheap price, I even bought a Yanks pinstriped jersey. -Also, if someone wants to help me with a video, please check this thread over here. Thanks :)
  19. A day later but nevermind. ...I got back from a week in Tucson, Arizona for vacation. It was great and finally got the Mariners cap I have been looking for since I was a kid. Bought some batting gloves and a new baseball glove too since I plan to be a pitcher when I enter to the University next month, so if you see me in Yankee pinstripes in a few years don't be surprised. ...Went to Taco Bell and had a Crunchwrap Supreme that week in Tucson and actually enjoyed it.. does it make me a bad Mexican? ...The Boss, George Steinbrenner is gone, I admired him for making the Yankees a winning franchise again and for being one of the greatest owners in history. ...AJ is hurt but he won't miss his next start, Pettite is hurt the next day and he'll miss like 5 weeks, this sucks... ...Rumors about Soria going to the Yanks? I couldn't believe it until I saw it on MLB Trade Rumors, but it seems kinda hard to get him, the Royals will ask for a lot for Joakim, I still remember when I attended his perfect game in Mexico when he was a starter and before he made his MLB debut, I'm very happy for him now. EDIT: I have to admit I was kinda scared about the Arizona law there, I know I have my passport and american visa card to get to the country but I was scared about it but when I got there it was so normal, like the other times I've been to Tucson or Phoenix, nice to see that but that governor is a crazy b....
  20. I've only had the chance to catch some games in Bank One Ballpark/Chase Field in Phoenix since it's the closer one for me. On march 2008 I had a once in a lifetime chance to visit Yankee Stadium (there werent any games since it was march) but man it was like a dream come true for me, going in the subway viewing the field from the outfield from the window was awesome, I had the chance to see the field since it was like 3 PM and doors were open (the team store was, too). I know it may sound stupid but I could feel the aura of the stadium when I was walking arround it. I will never forget that day. I'm saving some money to buy some good seats for the Yankees series at Chase Field against the Diamondbacks, it'll be the first time I'll watch a live Yanks game in my life. And here in Mexico I have been to my hometown team stadium and to Hermosillo's Hector Espino stadium, it's like beeing a Yanks fan going to Fenway Park, they're our biggest rivals.
  21. On our league, new foreign players play every single day and december is the month where bigleaguers start to show up in the caribbean so the rosters need to be updated sometimes during the season. This 1.1 version also includes one of salva's newest creations "Jose Perez Colmenares stadium" the home of the Tigres de Aragua, reigning Venezuelan and Serie del Caribe champions. A pic of the stadium here: Also in this new version you can choose which umpire uniform you want to use on the game with Umachines' umpire uniform selector- 1- Venezuela - Blue shirt 2- Venezuela - Dark shirt 3- Mexico - Blue shirt 4- Mexico - Dark shirt 5- Dominican Republic - Blue shirt 6- Puerto Rico - Dark Shirt 7- Neutral MVP Caribe umpires uniform
