  1. Thank-you for the kind words, laroquece and Yankee4Life!

Kccitystar, thank-you for the advice: I follow it every year!

Version 1.01 has been released with all the game times that were TBA have been announced. Only two corrections:

    • July 27th’s  doubleheader between Colorado and San Francisco contains games at 7:05 pm and 10:05 pm (not 4:05 pm and 7:05 pm, like how I predicted!)
    • September 1st’s game  between the Pittsburgh Pirates and the Cleveland Guardians goes from—what I predicted to be a 1:40 pm start—to a 2:40 pm game time

All the other "TBD" game times were correctly predicted.

Sorry for the quick update turnaround time!

  2. Hey folks!

The 2024 Major League Schedule for MVP Baseball can be downloaded here:

Please keep in mind I don't have MVP Baseball 2005 installed on my regular computer, so it's especially hard to test any mod I make.

Like previous years, there are a few instances of game times still being "TBA." I just estimated, hope that's OK.

    Take care,
    Dylan

    Installation Instructions:

    1. Backup your original schedule.big file in Program Files/MVP Baseball 2005/data/database folder.

    2. In your team.dat file, insure Houston Astros' line reads as follows:

    00b87f3f1,0 Hou,1 Houston,2 Astros,3 HOU,4 0,5 0,6 22,7 0,8 1,9 0,10 0,11 0,12 1,13 0,14 0,15 0,16 0,17 0,18 0,19 0,20 1,21 0,22 0,23 0,24 0,25 0,26 0,27 0,28 2,29 2,30 0,31 2,32 2,33 2,34 1,35 0,36 0,37 1,38 0,39 0,40 0,41 2,42 1,43 2,44 2,45 1,46 1,47 2,48 2,49 1,50 2,51 1,52 2,53 1,54 0,;

  4. Thank you! I don't know how I missed it. I'm using Windows 7 64 bit and cannot seem to get it to work, I'm currently trying to open it as Administrator and Windows XP SP3 compatibility. A small black screen flashes for a second then disappears. How can I fix this? Does my antivirus and/or firewall need to allow it or do I have to disable them temporarily?

Other users posted their difficulties with TyWiggins' YearChanger/ScheduleUpdater here.

    Perhaps they can help?

  5. I too am looking for the year changer. I read that it is included in the 94 Total Conversion Mod, which I have, but I do not have the year changer. Could you give me a link, the one above...mlbmods.com...no longer works.

    Thanks

In MVP Baseball 1994, there's a folder called "Extras."

Inside "Extras," there's a folder named "Year Changer," where you'll find the tool and instructions on how to use it.

  6. Hi Dylan and thanks for this Schedule, I'm having a problem when I execute the tywiggins' Schedule Updater/Year Changer (mine is name only Scheduleupdater it's the same?), the program start in a black screen but disappears, I have Windows 7 professional.

    Thanks for your help

Unfortunately TyWiggins' tool is not my own. If you've followed the directions I've provided, there really isn't anything more I can help you with as I don't know the intricacies of the Schedule Updater/Year Changer tool. (It is the same utility.)

Here are the directions in the Readme:

If you have tywiggins' Schedule Updater/Year Changer, you can change the year to 2013, rather than the default 2005.

    1. When you get to the team select screen, ALT-TAB out of MVP.

    2. Load Schedule Updater.

    3. Select option 1 and change the year to 2013, and choose if you want players' ages to change.

    4. Select option 3, and choose "1" to set the schedule to start on March 31.

    5. ALT-TAB back into MVP and continue as usual.

  7. Make sure you have macros enabled; otherwise the schedule genrator will not work. I also used an older version of Excel to open it; using Office 2007 under WIndows 8.

I don't think Arbisfun was referring to my Schedule Generator, but instead was referring to TyWiggins Year Changer/Schedule Updater tool, which allows the user to change the year inside their dynasty.

  8. I've been predicting stats on hitters for years now it's my little hobby I've gotten pretty good at it and have a refined system for predictions currently I only predict AVG and HR of hitters not any other stat but I will give some examples of my predictions for this year I use alot of mathematics and trends with hitters and alot of other variables come into play in my final numbers

    some examples

Ryan Braun .308 AVG 36 HR

Jean Segura .305 AVG 16 HR

Adam Dunn .240 AVG 42 HR

Joey Votto .318 AVG 21 HR

Miguel Cabrera .334 AVG 37 HR

If their are any other players you would like me to predict I'd love to do it and if anyone else likes to do this please post your predictions I'd love to see them

No requests, just wanted to say this is really interesting stuff.

    Hi,

I need some help with this file. I loaded the file exactly according to the directions as well as changed the team.dat file.

Everytime when I try to play a game in season mode though, the game crashes to the desktop.

This only happened after I installed the schedule file.

I was trying to install the schedule file to the mvp12 mod.

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

    Thanks in advance.

I really wish I could help you, but from what you described you followed the directions perfectly, so the schedule should work. It seems you're just out of luck.

My best advice would be to revert to the backup schedule.big file.

Sorry I couldn't be more help.

  10. man if you could with the astros in the al central that would be super. i would be enternialy greatful. i tried to change the values in the team dat file but it didtn seem to work. i just thought it would be interesting to have the astros in the central and the royals in teh west geographically it seems to firt better. but thanks Dillon yor teh best bro. i want to try my hand at moding but not sure how to get started

Sorry it took me so long, but your schedule with the Astros in the AL Central and the Royals in the AL West has been made. Check your messages for it.

  11. Hey guys just curious to know. i moved the Roylas to the al west and the astros to the al central. i have dylans 2013 schedule. what values to i need to move around to get the schedule right for the switch or is there no way of doing it. jsut thought i woudl try something different. thanks for the help

Even if you've edited the team.dat file properly—using Jim825's wonderful directions—my 2013 schedule would remain the same. The Royals would play more of their games versus the AL Central, while the Astros would still play more games against the AL West.

The schedule file is an entirely independent file.

If you want, I could create a 2013 schedule for you with the parameters you described.

  12. Have been out of the game for about 6 or maybe 7 years now, couple of weeks ago I got the itch to install MVP05 again, the thing is, I honestly can't play this game without a roster set of my own (very nitpicky about everything), so I just downloaded MVPEdit, installed just fine, but it won't execute, Windows 8 gives me this message:

    4kbj3d.png

Already tried running it in Windows XP SP2 Compatibility mode.

    Any thoughts?

google that message and you should find a solution for it. it's been around even on xp.

Sometime certain Microsoft Libraries can become unregistered when installing and uninstalling a lot of software. One very common problem is the MSCOMCTL.OCX.

To correct the error, first search your drive for MSCOMCTL.OCX to see if you have it. If not you can download it from HERE

The file should be placed in your C:WINDOWSSYSTEM directory. Or, if you are C:WINDOWSSYSTEM32 if you are using WinXP.

Once it is there click START--> RUN and type "REGSVR32 MSCOMCTL.OCX" (No quotes) in the box.

    That should fix the problem.

  13. I'll be migrating the site to a new dedicated server over the next few days. This should be done with very minimal downtime, or at least I'm hoping. If you experience any problems connecting to the site during this time, please be patient. I'll let everyone know once it's completed.

Best of luck with the move and take as much time as you need!

  14. Thank you Dylan for beating me to this. I'm glad you opened my eyes to Richie Havens' music a couple years ago when we were chatting. I sought out much of his music and have enjoyed it immensely. I had heard about his passing a couple of days ago and was going to post my condolences about it. I agree that he was tremendously underrated as a singer, songwriter, guitarist; but I am at least thankful that he lived quite a full life rather than other artists similar to him (like Nick Drake for example).

Many thanks to you for your great post. :clapping:

    R.I.P. Richie Havens...

    Dennis

No problem and thanks for the reply, Dennis. You made an excellent point: I am glad he lived a very full and long life.

    Take care Dennis,

    Dylan

  15. Richie Havens, the man who opened the famous Woodstock Music Festival in 1969, passed away this Monday (April 22nd) at the age of 72 from a heart attack.

Sadly, this news wasn't even a blip in the mainstream media. I flukily came across this sad news just surfing around on the internet.

Havens covered a lot of Beatles' (Strawberry Fields Forever, from Woodstock) and Bob Dylan songs (Just Like a Woman), but Havens was such a gifted guitarist that when he covered a song, it became his own.

During his performance at Woodstock, he had run out of songs so he improvised one, a song called Freedom:

He also was an accomplished writer and composer of his own music. For those of you who might've played adventure games you might remember the Tex Murphy series of adventure games; he was good friends of the creator of the, Chris Jones. Havens was the singer/songwriter of the song Tex's Lament, featured in The Pandora Directive, along with Trying to Try and Slow Down, from the Overseer soundtrack.

He went on to record over twenty studio albums, including one of my all-time favourite albums: Common Ground.

    Rest in Peace, Richie Havens.

  16. Holy Hell - I don't hit these forums that often anymore but just read through your ordeal. What a nightmare. I'm glad that it sounds like you are back on the recovery track.

    Best wishes to you!

Thank-you very much for the reply, golfguy10!

Unfortunately, the medication that had been working has ceased its effectiveness. On March 7th, I had a seizure in my sleep; and on April 11th and 12th, I had three more seizures.

From what I've been told, finding the right medication is a lot of guess and check work for epilepsy. I'm seeing my neurologist later this week, and hopefully we'll find what works for me.

Thanks again for the reply, and take care!

  17. Still a no-go, though the black window stays open longer when I do it that way, maybe 2-3 seconds rather than <1. Tried in Admin mode as well as regular, tried compatibility mode, nada, the moving of the .exe to the desktop was a new idea at least, thanks for the suggestions,

You're doing ALT-TAB out of MVP and running ScheduleUpdater when you get to the team select screen, right?

  18. Great, than I have nothing to blame for the same problem as all the others, where a black screen pops us for a second and then disappears. Apparently this is a problem without a solution for a number of us. At least having the proper year is rather irrelevant to the gameplay, as the proper schedule is all that matters. I've gotten used to the players being 16 years old.

Playball335 brings up a very good point:

Make sure you are not running it from the Program Files folder. Windows 7/8 protects these folders via UAC.

Try running Schedule Updater from the desktop.

  19. Do you mean that the year is 2005? If so you can download tywiggins' Schedule Updater/Year Changer as part of MVP Baseball 1994, it'll allow you to change the year to 2013.

    From the readme file:

    Additional Instructions

If you have tywiggins' Schedule Updater/Year Changer, you can change the year to 2013, rather than the default 2005.

    1. When you get to the team select screen, ALT-TAB out of MVP.

    2. Load Schedule Updater.

    3. Select option 1 and change the year to 2013, and choose if you want players' ages to change.

    4. Select option 3, and choose "1" to set the schedule to start on March 31.

    5. ALT-TAB back into MVP and continue as usual.

    Hope that helps.

  20. Thanks, The schedule works great. My only problem now is changing the players age. I don't have the tywiggens schedule/age changer and understand its not around anymore. Anyone know how to make the players age?

Sorry for the delayed reply, I had a bit of a medical situation.

I think you can download tywiggins' Schedule Updater/Year Changer as part of MVP Baseball 1994. If not, unfortunately only tywiggins can upload it, as it's his mod.
