7. Schedules (1933-2005)

Due to a sudden and surging interest in MVP scheduling modding, I decided to release this to the public.

A while back I created a schedule for every season from 1933 until 2005. Unfortunately, I don't remember why I couldn't create schedules before 1933. I just remember I wasn't able to.

Enjoy,
-Dylan
----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Installation instructions:
0. Rename the schedule to "mlb162_1.dat" If for instance, you wanted to play the 1989 MLB schedule, rename the "1989.dat" to "mlb162_1.dat"
1. In bigGUI, open up the schedule.big file. It's usually in the C:Program Files (x86)EA SportsMVP Baseball 2005 path.
2. Click Edit > Import.
3. Locate the mlb162_1.dat file you just downloaded and double-click it. Confirm replace of the old file.
4. It needs to be compressed. Highlight mlb162_1.dat, and click Edit > Compress.
5. Now, still in bigGUI, click File > Rebuild.
6. The schedule should be loaded into MVP.

Note: In MVP, the start date is always April 1st , but some schedules have games played before the first of April. This will cause teams to miss games. To fix this you can download TyWiggins' ScheduleUpdater/Year Changer utility at MLBMods. With this great tool, you can change the in-game year and date of that to your choosing. Just follow its included directions and change the date to the date of the first game of the season.
----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Enjoy!
If you do use these schedules, I'd love to know, tell me about it below!

10. Dylan's MVP Baseball 2005 Schedule Generator

This program generates a random schedule for MVP 2005. If you're tired of playing the same schedule year after year, this is for you.

Features:
- Generates three (3) random schedules to replace the default schedules in schedule.big
- Each team plays in series, just like a real schedule
- Preview the written schedule in Excel
- Choose the Interleague Division Matchups you want
- Remove Interleague Play, if you wish
- Choose the All-Star Game's Home Team (American or National League)
Follow the instructions in the included readme, to generate a new schedule.

- I've also created a version (2.1) that has moved Houston to the AL West, and generates a schedule with the new alignment. NEW!

PLEASE REMEMBER TO BACKUP YOUR ORIGINAL SCHEDULE.BIG.

If you have any questions or concerns, just e-mail me.

All you need to do is fill in the necessary statistics, and the program will calculate the batter's ratings, for MVP Baseball 2005.

This tool now has the highly sought-after import/export to file feature. This allows for mass rating generation.

Here are what the abbreviations stand for:
AB: At bats

3B: Triples
HR: Home Runs
RBI: Runs batted in
BB: Walks (Base on Balls)
SO: Strike Outs

13. MVP Baseball 2005 Pitcher Rating Calculator

Use this program to determine a pitcher's ratings. This program calculates movement, control, velocity, and suggested trajectory for each pitch. It also calculates the pitcher's stamina rating.

For more information, please read the included readme.

If you have any questions, please ask them here, rather than PM me. Chances are someone else has the same questions as you do.

Enjoy!

Version History
Version 12 (Current Version)
- Improved formulas for movement and control

Version 11
-Fixed a bug where for pitch control and movement were being rated too high.
Version 10.4
-Fixed a bug where for some really strange reason, it was randomly assigning a pitch if none was selected for the third pitch.
Version 10.3
-Improved some formula
-Fixed an oversight in the Pitch Type Database, where if there were two pitchers with the same name it might choose the wrong pitcher. I took out the duplicates that were "less famous."
Version 10.2.1
-Fixed a small bug where knuckleballs weren't being assigned in the random function.
-Fixed a small bug where if a pitch wasn't selected for the second pitch, it would assign everything to zero's if you clicked "Calculate" once, but if you clicked it again, it would calculate the pitch as a change-up. Now it just calculates it as a change-up the first time.
-Fixed a bug with the Import/Export feature and the new stamina formula
Version 10.1
-Fixed a small bug where if the third pitch selection was null, it would still assign ratings to it.
Version 10.0
-Added a second stamina formula. NEW! You can now choose the classic MVP-type formula or a more accurate formula. The MVP formula is the one EA's developers used and used in my calcualtor since the start. The Accurate formula is more representative of how I feel a pitcher performs. A closer will now have a rating in the teens or twenties (approx 10-29) rather than in the 40s.

Installation Instructions

For most users:

2. Copy the schedule.big file you just downloaded to your Program Files/MVP Baseball 2005/data/database folder.

4. The 2011 MLB Schedule should be loaded into MVP.
***************************************************************************************
For advanced users:
1. In bigGUI, open up the schedule.big file. It's usually in the C:\Program Files (x86)\EA Sports\MVP Baseball 2005\data\database path.
6. The 2011 MLB Schedule should be loaded into MVP.

Unlike last year, there are numerous games with times yet to be decided. (Last year, all games were decided well before I uploaded the schedule.)
I therefore had to guess game times for these games. I'll update the schedule at the end of the year, when they've been finalized.

The games where I had to estimate the game times:
5/1/2011, Mariners @ Red Sox
6/12/2011, Cubs @ Phillies
6/19/2011, Yankees @ Cubs
6/26/2011, Mets @ Rangers
7/16/2011, Angels @ Athletics
7/24/2011, Padres @ Phillies
8/7/2011, Yankees @ Red Sox
8/14/2011, Rays @ Yankees
8/21/2011, Cardinals @ Cubs
8/28/2011, Angels @ Rangers
9/7/2011, Orioles @ Yankees
9/17/2011, Rangers @ Mariners
9/17/2011, Astros @ Cubs
9/17/2011, Pirates @ Dodgers
9/18/2011, Cardinals @ Phillies
9/24/2011, Red Sox @ Yankees
9/28/2011, Rangers @ Angels

Also, for users wishing to change the year to 2011, you can!
Download tywiggins' Assorted Tools at MLBMods here. One of the assorted tools is the "Year Changer" tool. Follow the directions included with it to change the year.

Enjoy!

15. MVP Baseball 2005 Defensive Rating Calculator

Click here to visit support topic.

This program calculates a player's fielding, range, throwing strength, and throwing accuracy.

All you need to do is fill in the necessary statistics, and the program will calculate the player's ratings, specifically for MVP Baseball 2005.

The calculator will also estimate the innings played, if the user does not input inning data. This is useful for when calculating minor leaguers, as finding innings played data is just about impossible.

==The Import/Export Feature==
Included in the .rar file is a sample inputFielding.csv file. DO NOT RENAME OR EDIT THE FIRST ROW.
Just enter the statistics under each corresponding column:
Name,Level,Position,GP,PO,A,E,Innings

You can use Excel or many other spreadsheet programs, or use notepad and separate each stat by a comma (,), to enter your stats.
If a fielder's innings played is unavailable just enter 0.

Stats can be found at Baseball-Reference.com, which you can find a link to in the program.

Defensive formulas are hard to create, and I think I did a pretty decent job. Enjoy!
~Dylan

Version 12.10

18. Baseball Split Estimator

The Baseball Split Estimator estimates, what a player hit versus right-handed and left handed pitchers, based on the batter's handiness, batting average, and slugging percentage. I took a tremendously large sample of players, and compared their general averages to the split stats. There was a mildly strong correlation between the two. Enjoy! 20. Major League Equivalency Calculator

The Major League Equivalency Calculator (MLECalc) estimates how a batter would have hit if he was batting in the big leagues. It does not, however, project how well a hitter will hit. It took me a VERY long time to accumulate statistics and find a correlation between Minor and Major Leagues! Abbreviations are below: G : Games AB: At bats R: Runs H: Hits 2B: Doubles 3B: Triples HR: Home Runs RBI: Runs batted in BB: Walks (Base on Balls) SO: Strike Outs SB: Stolen Bases CS: Caught stealing GDP: Ground into double play HBP: Hit-by-pitch SH: Sacrifice Hits SF: Sacrifice Flys IBB: Intentional Walks Please write a review, with ANY suggestions or comments!
