  1. ay hello to my new pet - Shaniquilon. (Thanks to Dylan for the name.) He's been chilling in various spots on my ceiling and high on my wall for the last week or so, rarely moving, but decided to come down earlier, so I stabbed a few air holes in a container (I have no idea of the origin of said container), added a few drops of water and gave Shaniquilon his new home. He's currently having a drink. Unfortunately, I have no food for him (live bugs are scarce now with the colder weather coming), but I might add a piece of banana if he starts lagging. I don't think he'd much appreciate any other food I have in - think ladybirds like tuna, crackers, oranges, a Subway cookie, chilled microwave meals, chocolate, Oreo's, tortilla chips and ice cream?

Haha, Shaniquilon... what a great name! I nominate Tre'' (double apostrophes, not a quotation mark) for his middle name.

  2. Andy, hopefully this makes your life a little easier. I found a bunch of old player portraits, and sorted them by their 1998 team into folders. (I may have made a few mistakes it was very early in the morning when I did it.)

Some players I couldn't get the correct uniform, and for those their file name has the team's uniform they're wearing in parentheses.

    Enjoy!

  3. Oh my gosh I have been searching for these screensavers forever! Unfortunately the Filefront links you have up are no longer valid. If you could repost them or something I would be eternally grateful!

Thanks for your amazing work. Can you reupload and repost them, please? I'm very interested in them.

Hey folks, glad to hear I'm not the only one who loved these old themes. I can't believe you found this old post.

I'd make a setup file, but there were some problems installing in the windows folder, so you have to move the files yourself. Not too difficult.

Here are the instructions on where to move the folders:

    Okay, so...

If you extract this file to the desktop you'll have two folders... "98" and "Microsoft Plus! for Windows 95"

    For 98...

    Move this: "C:\Documents and Settings\USERNAME\Desktop\98\Themes\Underwater.Theme"

    To here: "C:\Windows\Resources\Themes"

    Move this: "C:\Documents and Settings\USERNAME\Desktop\98\Cursors\*"

    To here: "C:\Windows\Cursors"

    Move this: "C:\Documents and Settings\USERNAME\Desktop\98\Media\*"

    To here: "C:\Windows\Media"

    Move this: "C:\Documents and Settings\USERNAME\Desktop\98\Plus! 98\*"

    To here: "C:\Windows\Resources\Themes\Plus! 98"

    Move this: "C:\Documents and Settings\USERNAME\Desktop\98\system32\*"

    To here: "C:\Windows\system32"

    Move this: "C:\Documents and Settings\USERNAME\Desktop\98\Themes\*"

    To here: "C:\Windows\Resources\Themes"

Move this: "C:\Documents and Settings\USERNAME\Desktop\Microsoft Plus! for Windows 95\system32\wl32dll.dll"

    To here: "C:\Windows\system32"

Move this: "C:\Documents and Settings\USERNAME\Desktop\Microsoft Plus! for Windows 95\system32\wildlb32.dll"

    To here: "C:\Windows\system32"

    Move this: "C:\Documents and Settings\USERNAME\Desktop\98\Plus! 98\My Documents Icon.ico"

    To here: "C:\Windows\Resources\Themes\Plus! 98"

For Microsoft Plus! for Windows 95...

    Move this: "C:\Documents and Settings\USERNAME\Desktop\Microsoft Plus! for Windows 95\Themes\Windows 95 Default.Theme"

    To here: "C:\Windows\Resources\Themes"

Move this: "C:\Documents and Settings\USERNAME\Desktop\Microsoft Plus! for Windows 95\Cursors\*"

    To here: "C:\Windows\Cursors"

Move this: "C:\Documents and Settings\USERNAME\Desktop\Microsoft Plus! for Windows 95\Media\*"

    To here: "C:\Windows\Media"

Move this: "C:\Documents and Settings\USERNAME\Desktop\Microsoft Plus! for Windows 95\Plus! 95\*"

    To here: "C:\Windows\Resources\Themes\Plus! 95"

Move this: "C:\Documents and Settings\USERNAME\Desktop\Microsoft Plus! for Windows 95\system32\*"

    To here: "C:\Windows\system32"

Move this: "C:\Documents and Settings\USERNAME\Desktop\Microsoft Plus! for Windows 95\system32\wl32dll.dll"

    To here: "C:\Windows\system32"

Move this: "C:\Documents and Settings\USERNAME\Desktop\Microsoft Plus! for Windows 95\system32\wildlb32.dll"

    To here: "C:\Windows\system32"

Move this: "C:\Documents and Settings\USERNAME\Desktop\Microsoft Plus! for Windows 95\Themes\*"

    To here: "C:\Windows\Resources\Themes"

Hopefully that works! Replace USERNAME with your username. If you have any questions, just ask here.

  4. Man, I can't wait for your Batter Calculator, I've done it manually for two days and only have three teams done lol.

I look forward to finishing the Batter Rating Calculator too, Andy!

  5. Sorted all the issues :D. Now, just gotta get rolling with the batting rating adjustments, finish portraits, sort out a few dodgy cyberfaces, insert the stadiums & loading screens, do a few logos, sort out unis, do a few menu images, CTS screens, and the mod should be done.

Due to release in 2019! lol.

    Glad it all worked out,

You'll be done before you know it man! I have no worries.

  7. I don't know if this will solve it, but you could try this:

When I've created All Star teams for the single season mods I released (TC1951, TC1956, TC1978), I've done it as a multi-step process. Here's how I did it:

    1. If you already have a .mbe file, make a copy of the .mbe file. If you don't have a .mbe file, open up MVPEdit, import your rosters, and save the .mbe file. Exit MVPEdit and make a copy of the .mbe file.

    2. Open up MVPEdit and open up your copied .mbe file. Create your All Star teams by moving players from their current teams to the All Star teams. Don't worry that they are moving from their original teams because you will be discarding the .mbe file copy later.

    3. Once you have created your All Star teams, export the two teams using the File->Export->Team menu option. Do this twice (once for each team) and save each team as a .met file, giving them names like AL_AllStars.met and NL_AllStars.met.

    4. After you have saved your All Star teams, open your original .mbe file in MVPEdit..

    5. Import your All Star teams into the .mbe file using the File->Import->Team menu option.

    6. After your All Star teams have been imported, export your rosters to your data database folder using the Export menu option.

You now have proper All Star teams and the players are also still with their original teams.

This has worked for the single season mods, where I play exhibition games or run dynasties (with all trades and injuries turned off). I can't guarantee what would happen if injuries occur or trades are allowed, but for me, this works fine.

  8. I outputted the inputPitching file that you sent and it produced some interesting results. Some players had minus ratings on their movement on pitches and I noticed that all had the same movement. No biggie, but thought I'd let you know.

Hey Andy, I updated the Pitching Calculator to fix that problem, (I think it's version 8.14.0.2 now).

I just noticed the same movement issues too, when I get a chance I'll try to fix it.

    Thanks for letting me know!

  9. Yeah it's just the generating input thing that messed up so you doing that has saved me valuable time as I'm entering college in a weeks time :).

I felt bad that the generator didn't work for you, it still mystifies me as to why it doesn't. I don't know if you're doing a full minors roster, but I should note that some teams didn't have AA or A affliates, so in those cases I wrote the affiliation level inside brackets, under the organization column.

    Good luck with school man.

  10. Hey Andy,

Since I had bit of free time today, and the inputPitching Generator didn't work for you, I compiled all the 1998 Pitchers (including minors) into inputPitching (1998). You can easily change the pitch-types for each pitcher, they're all set to random.

Hope this makes the 1998 mod a little easier for you.

  11. A while back, I was reminiscing about the old themes that came with Plus! for Windows 95 and Windows 98 Plus! I then tried just copying the theme files over from the old CDs, but it was a different format then so it didn't work with XP.

    That's where I came in.

I contacted Microsoft, and they surprisingly gave me permission, as long as I didn't use their logo.

It took a few months copying files from their old CD and a lot of editing, but I managed to compile the old themes.

    The following themes are included:

    From Plus! for Windows 95:

    Dangerous Creatures

Inside Your Computer (I accidentally named it Inside Your PC)

    Leonardo DaVinci

    Mystery

    Nature

    Science

    Sports

    The 60's USA

    The Golden Era

    Travel

    Windows 95 (High Contrast)

    Windows 95 Default

    (More) Windows 95

    From Windows 98 Plus!:

    Baseball

    Jungle

    Space

    Underwater

Each theme contains the original screensavers, desktop icons, sounds, cursors, and wallpaper.

    Screenshots are here.

I don't know if anyone here wants it, but in case anyone does I thought I'd share. You can download the Plus! 9x Themes here or here if that didn't work.

It took a lot of time, but I'm glad to have them again. Enjoy and tell me what you think!

  12. I'd love to set a target release date but I'm not close to doing that.

My advice: DO NOT set a release date! If it's a moment past midnight on the date of you're release, you'll be flooded with PMs asking "why it's sooooooooooo late." Not fun.

Just release it when it's done. That way it's a nice suprise for those who are interested.

  13. I'm not attacking the reasons for charging, I'm peeved for two reasons

    - I defended the site when TheSpungo started charging for a mod to the skin of my teeth, then less than a month later the site is doing the same thing (Different intentions yes, but from an outside viewpoint it's the same). It makes me feel like a hypocrite and has left me with a real sour taste in my mouth.

    - I'm not classified as a modder because I haven't submitted a mod in time, despite working my tits off for the past four months trying to create a mod which will benefit this site when it is complete. Certain members who have submitted one CTS generated from a ready made template get this designation and thus get access to all tools (Which is all I really care about in the downloads section TBH).

    Why don't you just subscribe?

  14. Mantracker? That guy wouldn't even need a horse to find me. I'd get five feet with my knees and then be caught.

With my possession of the world's worst directional sense, there'd be a greater chance for me to bump right into him than of him finding me.

EXTERIOR: A million kilometres from the plotted course, a desolate arctic desert.

Mantracker: Well no one one would have gone this far out, let's turn around.

Meanwhile, in a location so far out, no one would have considered anyone to have ventured there...

Dylan: Where am I? How do I...? Why am I lost as a lamb?!?! [Gulp.] Help!
