  2. I guess i just got confused with it saying it had patch #2 of MVP 07 in there. I went ahead and installed it and seemed to work fine without changing anything unwanted. Although seemed like I had to go reinstall the 2008 uniforms again after installing it.
  3. I haven't installed it either. Maybe I'm wrong but it seems like it contains patch #2 of MVP 07. I don't have MVP 07 installed because I don't like some of it's modifications to startup screens and all that so I have installed the mods that I like individually. If you have MVP 07 installed then it shouldn't matter to install the update.
  4. I noticed you started only putting out the standard version with directions on how to upgrade it to plus. Is this going to be your standard way of doing it from now on or should I just wait for you to do a plus version? The reason I ask is because the full 07 models.big installs with some extra changes to the game which I don't want, but if this is what you plan to do from now on I have no choice but to install it. I've already manually installed the other models.big updates put out.
  5. I love your Royals uniform, but I always thought the t-shirt under the jersey looked a little off. Is there any way to make it like your Display Picture. The coller part looks oddly shaped.
  6. Compare him to Jeter who has a much better fielding rating. Jeter had 15 errors and a .975 fielding percentage in 2006. Reyes had 17 errors and a .971 in 2006. There's only a slight drop in stats yet Reyes has a fielding rating of 60 and Jeter's at 80, if I remember right. What other stats do you use to determine this rating? They should have virtually the same rating.
  7. I just did a fantasy draft last night and got to go through your roster for the first time. Why is Jose Reyes rated so low? His stats are off the charts for an SS and I keep hearing on ESPN how he's the best defender at his position. Yet both his hitting and fielding stats stink. Also why is Luis Castillo the best 2nd baseman in the game?
  8. No i said the break is upward because of the backspin and the seams on the ball. What should happen, and I've seen Peavy throw a good 2 seam is if throwing to a right handed batter, the pitch will will be down and outside then because of the backspin will break back towards inside and up. If you notice the break in MVPEdit it'll say something like 7 to 3 or 4 to 11 on the movement so there is an updward break on the ball. It's just that in the game it seems to drop instead.
  9. Is it just me or have all the 2-Seam fastballs been messed up in the game? Aren't 2-Seamers supposed to break upward? Even though MVPEdit list the 2-Seamer as breaking upward correctly, when I play the game it seems that all 2-Seamers break downward like a sinker. My theory is that the movement on all 2-Seamers are set too low. Getting backspin on a 2-Seamer is probably the easiest thing to do. I think all movement on every 2-Seamer should be alot higher because of this.
  10. Hey KG, Great job with the minor leagues. I used to use UR rosters, but would always have to spend hours reorganizing the minor leagues and now I don't have to do that. Some comments about the Royals: You are missing Joakim Soria, the Royals rule 5 draft choice from SD, who most likely will be a middle reliever. There's a lot of excitment over him coming to KC since he's been pitching lights out in the Mexican Winter League. If things go as expected, Alex Gordan will be the starting 3rd baseman with Mark Teahan moving to RF. Teahan has already been told to start learning that position. This means that Reggie Sanders and Emil Brown will platoon at LF. With Teahan, Sanders, Brown, and now Ross Gload (1st, OF) in the outfield that doesn't leave room for Shane Costa and Joey Gathright. They should be moved to AAA. Estaban German should be the backup infielder in MLB instead of being in AAA. He's one of our best backups and you currently don't have an infield backup on the MLB roster. Although Scott Elarton is one of our best pitchers, he's coming off of shoulder surgery, I think, and I have not heard anything about him being in the rotation. I'd move him to AAA for now. The lock starters should be Gil Meche, Odalis Perez, and Luke Hudson. Brian Bannister, Jorge de la rosa and Zach Greinke will compete for the remaining rotation spots. Most likely Bannister and De La Rosa will fill the 4th and 5th rotation spots with Greinke pitching out of the bullpen.
  11. I guess my formula needs some more work.
  12. They walk him so much because of his power and because the batters hitting around him used to not be that great. That's what I mean about subtracting out intentional walks. Although some pitchers probably just throw all balls at him also to see if he'll swing at any of them. If you actually watch him play, he swings at almost anything which basicaly means he can't tell where the ball is going and that his plate discipline stinks. I would agree with you from before and just say leave it alone so he's consistent with everyone else in terms of the formula.
  13. Good call. I forgot that AB's don't count walks.
  14. I agree that you should stick to the formula so that you at least have some consistency. However I would maybe suggest tweaking the formula for future stats. In case anyone cares I was thinking up a way to calculate Plate Discipline and came up with this. =((Hits + Walks) / (AB * 0.6)) * 100 The logic being that a hit and walk is a desired outcome. Having good plate discipline will result in better pitches and therefore a good outcome. So it compares how likely they are based on total at bats to have a good outcome. Since it's almost impossible to have 100% success in batting I then factor in a modifier 0.6. This basically means that the best hitter possible in baseball will have a successfull outcome from an AB 60% of the time resulting in a 100 plate discipline rating in MVP. To make it more accurate, Intentional walks should be subtrated from walks and AB.
  15. Why not just Drop Dunn's Plate Discipline which, I would guess, would fix whether playing him or sim-ing him because he would see the ball later and therefore have less hits and more strikes. If you don't mind me asking what formula do you use for calculating Plate Discipline?
