The datafile is in the DL section. Just search files by my name. The sliders are still being finalized. As far as classic pitching, if you're interested I can get you the details.

I'm not looking for good hitters. That I can figure and have pretty much incorporated. I'm looking for pitchers who are decent runners.
-
Just like above. I typed "NEW" as all caps, but thread titles will not allow? So for example "MVP" shows as "Mvp".

Hey guys.... looking for some feedback in regards to decent base running pitchers with some speed. I'm looking to do away with this global "43" speed for pitchers in my next roster file and wanting to maybe do something like a "45" for a generic and "65" for decent runners. For example, for the team I know, the Phillies have Cliff Lee and Cole Hamels run better than a 45.... but not seeing that in any other pitchers. So let me know what you think and try to stay away from "homerism" :)

I recently started tinkering with MVP level sliders and I think I'm close to what I'm after. I'm interested in the continued variety of hits / outs and in-game stats, being rewarded for good pitching and selective hitting and being punished for making stupid decisions and serving up meatballs. I'm presently using classic pitching with the modified batting view I've referenced before (WS '98 type view) and it is not easy to hit. But.... I have been able to crank two out...one with John Mayberry in Miami to dead CF (so you know it was a shot) and more recently in a PHI/NYY ~ Halladay / Sabathia matchup that had a very unlikely ending. I've attached that game box. Earlier, I had Worley pitching against Cecil and gave up four solo shots. Cecil went the distance as well. I couldn't believe that he didn't get pulled as he was in the 120+ pitch range when it was all over. Back to this most recent game between PHI / NYY. It was quite a duel. Only 10 hits between the two teams when it was said and done, but there were some fist pumping moments. The Yanks struck first in the 4th, previously, early Utley and Mayberry singles in separate innings were undone by CC picking each guy off 1st when they each took unwise leads. In the 4th, A-Rod singles and stole 2nd. Cano grounded to Ryan Howard who attempted getting A-Rod trying to take 3rd and threw wide of the bag, allowing him to score and Cano to move up to 2nd. However, Halladay minimized the damage by striking out Swisher and Martin, while pitching around Ichiro. With one away in the bottom of the 5th, Ruiz waited on a back door slider and deposited it down the left field line inside the foul pole. Sabathia and Halladay exchanged innings, though the Yankees proved to be more patient with Halladay pushed to 124 pitches by the end of the 8th. In the 9th, Jeremy Horst was called in primarily to face the lefty Ichiro as the second batter, but had to get by Nick Swisher. He got Swisher to ground out and Ichiro to fly out. He was allowed to stay in and pitched around Russell Martin with Sabathia due up. CC was left in to bat as he was just under 100 pitches by that point and it appeared he would go out for the 9th. On a 2-2 count, the unthinkable happened. Horst tried to ring up Sabathia on a backdoor slider and put it in the only place where CC could do some damage. The Yanks pitcher smacked a two run shot over the right field wall, exposing the poor Phillies bullpen once again. Curiously, the Yankees decided to bring in their closer Rafael Soriano, but by making short work only needing 9 pitches, it was easy to see why. So these are the types of games I'm looking for, but I also want to see weaker pitchers getting hammered both ways at times as well. A few more games and I'll post my MVP sliders and gameplay conditions. PHI21.zip

Going to begin finalization of this this weekend and have begun with final omissions due to season ending injuries combined with lack of playing time. In other words, those who have only developed recent season ending injuries, but have been a main player for a significant part of the year (e.g., Todd Helton in Colorado) will be on the final roster. Attached here are the 66 who will not be in the roster version. However, .mep's will be made available to add them back in via MVPedit if you so choose. Also, in case anyone was wondering, Melky Cabrera will be included since he played 110+ games. What you do with him is up to you. Next task is to start picking and choosing pitchers and putting them in their slots according to baseball-reference ranking. 2012 MLB Roster Player Injury List.doc

Dom Brown.... are you paying attention?

You need to give particulars to your problem. You can't just give a general statement and expect others to assist you, especially if you added your own mods.

Matt Harvey is 3/27/89 in my rosters. :spiteful:

Fausto Carmona is such a cool name... but I don't think he's gonna make the cut! hehe

Wasn't bad. I thought the side grips were a little skinny and the analog stick was a bit slippery...they should have rubberized it. As far as my vote for best controller I've ever used: It was wireless. It was extra wide for larger hands. And it was an Xbox s-controller layout.

Got any other names for him, because I don't see him having one minute in the major leagues this year. Pretty good possibility considering the number of games he's played.
-
Well, that can be said for a lot of players. I can't tell you the number of prospect players I've created in the last 2 years, only to see them fade away. I have to use some type of criteria and then you'll be able to switch around whomever you want. By the shear number of games, I do see Stewart and Ohman getting slots for the CWS.

Right.... we'll see how it plays out. Again, variety will be available, though, of course, some will have to be placed at the AAA level. The difficult ones on any team will be guys like Liriano who were impactful throughout the year, but traded. Pitching slots 1-5 will not necessarily be reflective of current 1-5, only that these will be 5 of the multiple starters available for people to do with them that they wish. I'll be using MLBdepthcharts and baseball-reference to guide me.

He's not in my most recent? Pitch depth order will be based on how baseball-reference.com has them ranked. So, for example, if the season ended today, Quintana would be #4, Humber #5 and Danks the LR. http://www.baseball-reference.com/teams/CHW/2012.shtml But since starters and LR's have real life stamina (based on dylan's calculator, rated from the past several years), people will have 6 starters to mix and match in however they want to change the rosters around. Thanks for the kind words.

BaseUp! Rosters ~ Phase 6 will place an emphasis on the main contributors to their particular team, and if traded, to the league in general. Typically, MLB teams hold 13 fielders and 12 pitchers per team. I will therefore include on the final 25 man rosters those who have given the largest bulk of time and/or had the largest impact. But I won't cap it at 25. 18 fielders and 16 pitchers / team will be given special emphasis. Batting contact and power tweaking will occur once again for those who seem to warrant changes up or down. More attention will be given to pitchers' control in order to better reflect their true-life counterparts. Once that is completed, a playoff set with announced actual rosters will be made available as well.

Very..... good pitchers (and I don't use the goofy batter's eye) will fool you with some pitches.
