  1. Place it in the <data> subfolder. It does not originally come with the game, so you will not be overwriting anything.
  2. No, the NBA was thug basketball. Now it's about stylin'. No? There was apparently actually a Twitface battle between Lebron and some other player about who came out with that idiotic lens-less glasses nerd look. Earl the Pearl, The Big E, Wes Unseld, Jerry West, Connie Hawkins, Willis Reed, Hakeem and all are collectively shaking their heads. There's just no more inside game. The 3 point shot has ruined my favorite game, the game that taught me so much about sports and life.
  3. Odd.... I think in the options you can scan for compatible resolutions. Only thing I can think of.
  4. Just got back in town.... I got you. In case anyone else wants to know: Changing the Pitch Meter Placement (making it invisible) The pitch meter placement is located in the fes_ingameoverlay.fel which is an embedded file of the ingame.big file, which is available in the ‘frontend’ subfolder. (Back up your ingame.big file first; it is suggested to name it ‘ingame.bak’). Use BigGUI to extract this .fel file. To do so, select the file and click on decompress, then export (export to desktop for easy locating). Editing in Notepad is suggested. (Keep BigGUI open and the ingame.big file active). There are 3 lines needing changing that appear on lines 174-176 and then repeat on lines 182-184. (see example below) In Notepad, there is a “Find” feature. Simply copy the first portion of the first line below in the example and search for it. You’ll have to edit the Y coordinate, which is the 4th value in, in order to make it disappear off the screen. Changing it to 800 on each of the 6 lines is suggested. Once you edit the y coordinate place this .fel file back in the ingame.big file by selecting the import feature in bigGUI, then compress it and then select rebuild. NOTE: BigGUI doesn’t seem to indicate when the rebuild process is done, so give it a minute or so. Example: SH:BGCOLOR,1,0,355,235,100,100,1,1,1,1,6,BPP2,BPP2,1,0,0,255,0,100,1,-1,0,1,0,0,0,0 SH:FILLCOLOR,1,0,355,235,100,100,1,1,1,1,6,BPP3,BPP3,1,0,0,255,0,100,1,-1,0,0,0,0,0,0 SH:OUTLINE,1,0,355,235,100,100,1,1,1,1,1,BPP1,BPP1,1,0,0,255,0,100,1,-1,0,1,0,0,0,0 Note: the 3rd value in is the X coordinate value, so this combined with the Y value will allow you to move the pitch meter anywhere within the game. However, if the values are too large, it could cause your game to crash.
  5. Wait? They raised 1/3 of a million dollars??
  6. So in other words: port out to a widescreen TV and it acts like the Xbox version (720p), but to a widescreen PC monitor, it only looks stretched?
  7. File Name: WS98 Batting View Datafile File Submitter: daflyboys File Submitted: 18 Jun 2012 File Category: Camera/Datafile Version: 1.0 This is a build off of MD's file from years ago. Over time, I've taken out the PIP foul ball cam, slowed the interval between pitches for the CPU pitcher and more recently, added this World Series '98 type cam for Batting View 4. This datafile may also be useful for those having trouble getting hits and/or are using a classic pitching mode (i.e., no pitch meter). Adjust your sliders accordingly. More testing needed, but I think this may help with producing less grounders hit too close to the front of the plate as well as possibly helping with ball spread. Have fun! (back up any other datafiles you may replace.... easiest thing is to zip and label the zip file) Click here to download this file

  9. Homer...just admit it. You're a karaoke junkie! And know you're on to the hard stuff.... creating your own.
  10. That's a taboo question around here.
  11. You should just release all of these select screens in one big zip instead of flooding the DL board with something like this.
  12. Put me in. I might be weak...... but I'm slow.
  13. Absolutely wonderful!
  14. What do you guys think about the Blow Me Away song in Halo 2 by Breaking Benjamin?
  15. For you guys who are freezing, I don't know what to tell you as I can't replicate it. Here's a screen shot of simming the Jays all the way through. I guess you'll just have to wait for the MVP12 total mod. Jays season: http://tinypic.com/r/fm9ly/6 The sad thing is that there are over 1100 DL's and I can't get anyone to say it works or much else.
  16. Ya, that's good bc, but how about letting the EA logo settle, then a window smash transition. I might even be able to green screen a moving baseball (simulating the cause of the window smash) revealing the mvpmods logo. So Kyle, we're talkin' what, a 30-40 sec video intro?
  17. I likey...but sort of been overused throughout media, no?
  18. Sorry...misnamed that some. Go to Options/Game Options/CPU initiated trades
  19. As far as sizing, I was meaning the progress bar. As far as video, the YouTube stuff tends to be bad rez. I can capture the mlb.com stuff via my XBMC / Navi-X program. As far as video editing, I've always had to be economical, so using ULEAD VideoStudio. I have a love/hate relationship with it. Any song suggestions?
  20. Can you give me a dimension and what file extension is best? I actually have a couple of variations in mind.
  21. I think making it transparent might be a mistake. If you're game is hanging for some reason, it could be an indicator. How about a series of baseballs blurred (somewhat like this graphic I made) in a straight line.
  22. When simming/playing seasons/dynasties, etc., turn FA signings off for now. See if that makes a difference.
