  1. Any team out there interested in a 245 lb. lefty who throws 100 mph, even in the strike zone once in a while? We'll even throw in a snack stipend. Caution: would only use in low leverage situations from here on out.
  2. This guy. Kinda fast.
  3. And I know he was responsible for the runners, but Ohtani doesn't get nailed for 7 runs if Slegers would've done his job. Although LeMahieu is very clutch, though that poke down the 1st base line was a bit lucky. Ohtani will rebound I'm sure. In the meantime, remains "fun" listening to Phillies broadcasts. Here, let me give you an example of the whimsical Tom McCarthy first. McCutchen fades back to try to play a ball hit off the top of the fence and on the replay, McCarthy is commenting on whether he lost his earring or not. No, that's not a typo. Couple that with John Kruk who you can actually hear moaning during dribbler hits by the Marlins ... actually moaning as the ball is in play. These are professional broadcasters, people.
  4. Prior to tonight, he had the 3rd best WHIP on the Angels and the best amongst their starters. And he throws 6 different pitch types and has been known to be in the upper 90's with his FB. Ya, I think he's actually a pitcher.
Tremendous work and dedication .... especially for those people who have really been wanting to play minor league games!
  5. Wheeler ... showing the Mets some regret he's gone, but I may eat those words. Phils starter this series so far with the Mets: 1 ER in about 20 inns. and they are scraping by to get a split. Man.
  6. I have no idea what this hat crap is..... I mean okay if you wanna do it after the game or whatever, but your team is still losing and the dug out does this idiocy?? I think this is worse than the sissified wave!
  7. God, this thread is quickly becoming forgettable and one to avoid, fast.
  8. Your team is going to win. Your team is going to lose. That's just sports. At the end of the season, there's one winner and everyone else is second place. Always has been. Always will be. Now, in the meantime ... let's get rid of this fucking awful "tradition", especially when you're losing.....
  9. My question is why do all of you keep feeding into this constant pessimistic commentary about the Yankees. Did you think that just because the "discussion" moved to this thread from the chat box it was going to change? Just ignore it and move on ..... or should I just talk about how much the Phillies suck constantly?
  10. So Aaron Nola, ties a ~50 y.o. consecutive strike out record, drives in the game's only run against a division leading opponent and Girardi decides he's gonna put his trust in a shaky set up guy who can't find the strike zone consistently, fields like a little leaguer who's mom got him on the team, to handle 6 outs, let alone 3. What the fuck did he expect to happen? Rather lose by 17 runs than lose that way.
  11. You must be a blast at parties.
  12. Congrats to Aaron Nola. Tied Tom Seaver's MLB record of 10 K's in a row. Got beat on his bid for 11 K's with a real good pitch. Great feat nonetheless. Even the 8 K's to set the Phils franchise record was tremendous in and of itself considering the history of pitchers they've had.
  13. This Mets broadcast team is the epitome of what a broadcast team should be. If you ever have a chance to listen to them, I highly recommend it. I'd listen to the Phillies broadcast team, but I'm tired of hearing how much crap they can eat to get even fatter (or how Kruk can get more drunk).
  14. I like the "tack the ball" idea. No need to bring anything out then, which would, in fact, counterbalance an already tacky ball.
  15. Can't believe we didn't get more play out of this, so I'm gonna resurrect it and see how we do. Just noticed this again, but how the players wiggle their fingers on the bat handle waiting for a pitch..... pretty good for a 2004-05 game.
  16. Well, this was nice to see initially for a sound bite. It's more MLB.com making too big of a deal about anything and everything. This is the voice of confidence and some humility .... seems like a player anyone would want on their team..... just like Ohtani. https://www.mlb.com/video/franco-discusses-mlb-debut
  17. For cryin' out loud .... it's as if it was the second coming of Christ or something!
  18. Man .... Girardi is really convinced Scherzer is using something and having him checked after every inning and then some. This is gonna make for some bad blood. Kind of welcoming this .... too much MLB kumbaya over the past few years. I'll take this over Baaa-byyyy Shark shark shark shark shark, because .... baseball. And there goes Girardi.
  19. You shouldn't be. This is the contents. I personally can't seem to install .rar or .7z files and have to repack them as .zip files. Try that.
  20. I guess then technically, they can make a decision that if they pull him as a pitcher, they can stick him in RF, since the DH is forfeit that game.
  21. So basically, he has to declare we're not using a DH this game, and then manages the game as an NL manager? So does the visiting team still get to use their DH?
  22. I'm guessing currently it's all about appearance. But technically, I would think that even if he's pulled from his pitching position, he would have to bat in the DH spot the next time it is up if they are wanting him to stay in. Even with that, I assume he could be switched to an OF position if the Angels would want to keep whoever is DH'ing that particular game in that slot (say, for example, that other player has already gone 2/2 or 3/3 in the DH slot -- why take him out?) I can't see how that would presently violate any subbing rules. Seems like MLB would want the likes of Ohtani to both pitch and hit in an AL only game, since after all, in an AL vs NL game, he's do both, right?
  23. Was never a big fan of the song. But it is more "adult" fun oriented, so I get it. Then again, I don't get the association with "Sweet Caroline" at a ball game ... don't see the connection. Plus, not a big Neil Diamond fan. Now I could see playing "pop goes the weasel" when you get an opposing player out ... something like that.
