  1. I'm watching a simmed game between the Phils and Nats and Giles is now throwing 98, so some variability is showing up.
  2. Change your processors to 1 or 2 and see what happens. Start button > msconfig in the search window > boot tab > Advanced options... > tick Number of processors box* > select 1 or 2 > reboot PC. *if the box is not checked and it's showing a greyed out "1", it means that your PC is using the maximum processors that you have.... not just 1. Also... make sure your compatibility tab looks like this. Right click on your MVP shortcut icon and click on properties. Then this:
  3. Is vertical sync turn "on" within the game itself? You are on Windows 8, correct? Do you have the compatibility options mentioned in other threads turned on? To what drive is the game installed? Also, for future installs,if you want to install official patches, 2 or 3 only are needed. You don't have to install them all.
  4. Don't edit in game. Or if you do, make sure it's after you restart your system. You can always try to DL his cyber and re-install. Search the DL section.
  5. It's not significant but it's there. Try it yourself. These are screenshots of Ken Giles (cpu pitching) pitching in Philly, then Colorado. Also, I've noticed the cpu pitches slightly faster than human.
  6. These are Salazar's numbers from last year. He may have hit 100 at times, but not on the average. The way he is in the game is correct. If anything is a discrepancy, it's that he's missing a 2 seamer, which can be easily corrected. When you make rosters or announce you are going to do an update, you ask guys to give feedback, but they rarely do (save for the Orioles fanatic from last year who thought just about every one of them should have been rated in the 90's). Also, velocity of pitchers does seem affected by the climate in which they are pitching in this game as well as elevation (i.e., Colorado). As far as a cyberface, he does have one (756) so if the install is incorrect, that can be changed. (besides, he's not the darkest of complexions.... seems more like a light skinned Latino). Also, if you need further data, you can look at his fangraphs page: http://www.fangraphs.com/statss.aspx?playerid=5867&position=P#pitchtype If anything, it shows his velocity actually went down slightly from 2013. You can't do rosters by anecdotal observation, information, or "gut" feelings. If you want accuracy, then you have to use the stats available.
  7. I think this is part of the game engine. For example, there's a good number of relievers who pitch from the stretch with no one on. There may be a few pitchers who do that here and there, but most are going to go into the wind up. It was probably a bug that could have been sorted out if MVP would have continued from year to year.
  8. Sure thing man. I would do a fresh install of MVP05 w/ patch #3 and keep it around as a "base" copy in case you ever need to copy it to further mod it or need an original file.
  9. I would try one, but need a tutorial .... and can't seem to find one any where.
  10. You posted in an AL / NL Futures uniform thread about a Cardinals Saturday Home Alternate Jersey. See kids.... this is why you pay attention in school.
  11. For guys who have multiple installs, make sure you are starting up the game from the correct shortcut icon. If you place the rosters in one install and are starting up another, of course it's not going to show the latest rosters. Also, when installing, do not simply overwrite the older 19 .dat files. Delete them and unzip the new ones to the same place. Then, there is no way the game cant show the newest rosters. Additionally, if you're expecting the new rosters to show up in an existing season/dynasty that you've already started with older rosters, they are not going to magically show up. When you start a season/dynasty it "locks in" with whatever roster set you used to start that season/dynasty because it saves to a totally different file.
  12. This is not the support section. There's a button to the upper right for the support thread. Also, I've been the one to predominantly do rosters over the past three years and I never released it with a schedule, because a schedule is a totally different file and amount of work. Past roster makers didn't release a schedule with theirs either. Let it go!
  13. I can see that..... just that at this stage is it worth the time and effort. Less and less guys play this game. And even less so say anything when the download a major mod, unless they have a problem with it.... then you never hear from them again.
  14. Videos are fine but you watch it once and it's generally forgotten.
  15. There's only one thing a Philadelphia sports fan says when one of their own gets traded to a contending team and then sees his performance the very next game: it figures.
  16. Hi Rising Son, thanks again for doing these. The only thing I'm confused about is that your first packet of portraits for 2015 were P1, P2, and P3. This one is P6. Did something happen to P4 and P5?
  17. Most any download has "Support Topic" button link to the upper right side on the actual download page.... no reason to make a separate thread. And why do guys keep mentioning that there's no schedule with a roster?...... a schedule is a completely different thing. And asking when a new mod will be available is taboo around here. I would post your concern in the proper thread.
  18. I was reading up on dual core vs. quad core in relation to some older games and I'm finding that it's possible that dumbing your PC down to 1 or 2 cores might be a solution to have it running better. This is total conjecture on my part as I have very limited knowledge about this. But.... MVP came out in 2005 which means it was developed in 2004. Multi-core technology didn't hit the streets until 2005. So it stands to reason that MVP might run better if you keep your system running at 1 or 2 cores, if you happen to run tri or quad-core, especially if you're running something later than Windows XP. It's very easy to change the processors your PC is using and it shouldn't damage anything or make it run any hotter, unless you overtax it with running tons of applications at one time (that would be the reason to keep the quad core running instead). Steps to change your processors utilized number: Click on your START button in the lower left corner of your tray Type in the search window: msconfig Wait a moment and an appelet box should pop up Click on the Boot tab Click on Advanced options Tick ON the Number of processors box Select 1 or 2.... whatever you want to try Restart your PC It could be that running with 2 processors and the compatibility options in place for MVP that it might help with the stability of the game. But don't hold me to it. As far as compatibility, you access this by right clicking on your MVP shortcut, choose properties and select the following: When I applied this to Tiger Woods 08 Golf, it seemed to do the trick in terms of my frame rate. Good luck.
  19. 1) It should. I was the one who changed the name from "dynasty" to "season" with it being a text edit only. It should advance. 2) Keep in mind that the scouting reports may have been written for earlier players and the Byron Buxton you are looking at was since created. The player reports are text file placements as well which probably correspond to a player's given ID number. But you can't see these in the roster editor. You can change the players' ages utilizing,I believe, the schedule updater application.
  20. Great work man..... I know the guys who play multiple seasons and minor leagues are really appreciating this.
  21. For me it would depend on how Perfect Golf feels and plays. If it's too mechanical, don't care how it looks. Needs the opportunity to set it up to play, feel and look like real golf.
  22. Thanks.... there should be a corrected one which will be in MVP 15.
  23. Wow...close to 70 people already downloaded and didn't leave any feedback!! Pretty weak guys. This stuff takes a lot of time. (yes, that would make you leechers) Thanks so very much in all your efforts Rising Son!
