  1. I thought for a long time that I'd have to create a file of walk up ditties with blank sound tracks if I wanted no walk-up music. It's much easier than that. Just simply rename your "batdit.abk" and "batdit.ast" file so they have an unknown extension to the game.... something like .bak. Therefore, have the files look something like: batdit.abk.bak and batdit.ast.bak tada
  2. It's hard to tell if that's a good transparency, but that's the basic idea. And if there are going to be two of you doing it, you may want to coordinate so you don't duplicate efforts. Also, I can't remember if the game makes all of the images skinny like it can on loading screens. For example, on CTS screens, the CTS maker resizes the image to 1024 x 1024 so that it looks "normal" within the game. I''m not sure if kraw's portrait maker does this for you, so it would be best to experiment with one sample before you create a lot of extra work for yourself.
  3. That's a plus. It's really being able to get a hold of a good resolution picture. Basically you need to make 2 files: a 256 x 256 24bit BMP file that has the outline of the player's portrait and make an indexed BMP so that a transparency can be integrated into the final product. You also need to know the official ID which is easy to find on the list if one has been assigned. I've attached samples and kraw's easier portrait maker which will combine the above BMP's and make the FSH file that the game will read. Then it/they are easily installed with TiT. What you don't want is a final product that has a white or black outline of the player. So, therefore, getting a good initial portrait makes it so much easier. When done you can include multiple portraits in the same zip file for concurrent installation. Tip: Kraw's portrait maker seems to default to the main drive level, so it's easiest to work from there versus desktop or some other folder. I've embedded a photo here of what you don't want as a final product. Kraw's portrait maker and sample.rar
  4. I don't think that guys who ask for this kind of thing realize the amount of work and coordination that goes into it. And presently we don't have a stadium or uniform maker, let alone everything else that's needed. Do minor league rosters in and of itself is a daunting task. To the OP: maybe make a comment in the shoutbox or add a response to another thread. This really serves no purpose, but your compliments are well received.
  5. I'm not really understanding the point of this thread.
  6. Checking through some of those, I think moving forward a lot of those are going to be outdated if a player moved. I'm going to look through the majors and try to see predominantly who's needed. I'll update by division. NL WEST ARI: D. Peralta; Nuno; Stites COL: Matzek LAD: Barney SDP: Despaigne; R. Liriano SFG: none NL CENTRAL CHC: Alcantara; Valaika; CIN: none MIL: Parra; J. 7. I think Despaigne (SDP) and David Peralta (ARI) need ID numbers.
  8. Grab the 2012 park in the DL's section.
  9. Possible resource for doing easy portraits (seem to have PNG's already cutout): FanDuel. Also, a cool site if you like to wager. All kinds of options. When you click on a given player, a synopsis comes up including his pic. The pic is DL'able. Not sure how it would look in game, though.
  10. 18 downloads

Install w/ TiT from main folder.
  11. File Name: Carlos Ruiz CTS 2014 File Submitter: daflyboys File Submitted: 14 Aug 2014 File Category: CTS Screens Version: 1 Install w/ TiT from main folder.
  12. Already been discussed numerous threads. Check out the first few pages of the support area for probably answers: http://www.mvpmods.com/forum/28-support/
  13. My brother and I have both experienced this with W7. Not sure exactly what the reboot does, but it is effective. You may just have to live with it.
  14. Well, yes and no. This is a review section. But if one is going to make a critique, then say something specific versus something general like "you have to get better".
  15. Apparently.... I guess we have vid-card-o-vision!
  16. Do you or anyone close to you have a desktop PC with a dedicated graphics (NOT integrated -- as in integrated to the motherboard) card? I would say try an install on there before you waste all kinds of time on your laptop where it's not going to matter what you do since you seem to have an integrated graphics card.
  17. If you're running an integrated graphics card, that might be it. You're on a laptop so I'm assuming you are, but I don't know too much about laptops. I know that on desktop PC's, it's a hassle to run the game (most games) on an integrated video card. In the options area -- probably in video options -- you can turn vertical sync "off".... usually it's best to leave it ON, so try OFF.
  18. No. It was just a "by the way" statement in regards to a major free program. Adobe CS2 is for graphics editing. Has nothing to do with MVP.
  19. According to this site, there is a way, but I'm not going to mess with it. Maybe hunt around the official M$ website. http://www.makeuseof.com/tag/download-windows-xp-for-free-and-legally-straight-from-microsoft-si/ Btw, there is a legal and official free download of Adobe Creative Suite 2 (I think they're on like 845 right now..... just kidding). For most users it will do everything you need and more. So you get the entire Suite (Photoshop, After Effects, Illustrator, etc.). Well they did as of last year. Not sure where things are at now, but you'd need to go to the Adobe site, set up an account and check into seeing if you can still get it. I would bet you could.
  20. So you're going to basically wipe out the functionality of your PC using W7 just so you can use XP (since it will not keep your installed program intact and you'll have to re-install everything you want if you want to go back to W7)? Not sure what you're doing. Are you running something else that would rely on the same graphics/program driver needs that MVP needs (e.g., XBMC)? Did you try the other W7 fixes, like the basic one of simply installing it to your desktop and then modding/playing from that? Although I had no problem running it from the default program install folder for W7, I also was able to run it from the desktop.

    Portraits

    Much needed....thanks for stepping up!
  22. Alright.... since I did a pretty major update for contact/power at the AS break, I think in the interest of time, I'm going to keep the players on the roster who served the most time on the squad for the season, unless, of course, they were traded or released. Actual rosters at the end of the year get so messy with all of the call-ups/send downs and larger allowed rosters. That could mean that someone with a season-ending injury will stay down on the "A" level though some may be in the rotation/line-up, especially if they sustained an injury late. Also, I'll look at the top 2 and bottom 2 guys regarding BA and make adjustments if needed. Some guys who are especially low who got hot as the season progressed (like Caleb Joseph) should get an upgrade. Prominent pitchers will also get an adjustment regarding control whether they are a starter or reliever. Also, ENCbase13 might possibly feed in some good cosmetic adjustments for greater accuracy. Probably start on this during 1st week in September and try to get it done during that week.
  23. If you do Operation Sports, I know you'll need to ask a mod first before posting.
