  1. Congrats on being ahead of me on the Rockies roster. I had not heard that they lost Chris Nelson to the Yankees, pretty sure that will prove to have been a mistake a few years down the road. Now thats what I call up to date!
  2. I installed as per your instructions, so far able to sim through entire season without issue. For some reason my schedule updater quit working again after install, but everything looks great so far. It's nice to have Dexter Fowler as a black man, he's been a white man in my game for quite some time. Thanks for all your work as usual, will report back any issues.
  3. SUCCESS! Just as with many times before, a clean install solved the problem. What I did: a clean install of MVP 2005, followed by install of MVP 12, followed by both MVP 12 patches, and a copying of the schedule updater folder from MVP '94 solved the problem. Thanks for the help!
  4. Just checked, the MVP 12 folder is read-only, so I unchecked that box, applied setting, and it went through and applied the changes to the directory. But when it finished applying the changes, I went to properties again, and Read-only was again checked, essentially disregarding the changes it had just applied. The folder being read-only seems like a likely culprit for the problem, but I don't understand why it would be re-checking the read-only box after applying the changes. I've never encountered that problem before, but browsing online it seems there are a lot of other people with the same problem with Win7, where it won't let you make a folder not-read-only. I am the only user/account on the machine, I am the administrator. I went through the motions of checking the security permissions, and it should be fine. However, I am not even sure that the read-only issue is the problem, as my MVP '94 will work with the schedule updater, and it is also a read-only directory. It's also weird that the folders are read-only, but I am able to add and edit files within the folders. I'm going to try a reinstall of MVP 12 with a clean MVP install now and see if I can rebuild from the ground up. Thanks for the advice!
  5. Yep, the way I always did it before when it used to work on the old computer. That's why its so frustrating, I'm doing nothing different than I used to, but it doesn't work any longer, except for the '94 Mod.
  6. I just tried to run Schedule Updater from the desktop, the black box was on the screen for longer, maybe 2-3 seconds, but still vanished. I did just load up the MVP 94 Mod itself, just to try something, and the schedule updater does work when I'm running that mod, just not with my updated MVP 12, so perhaps I'm inching closer to the root of the problem. Obviously schedule updater WILL work on the machine with the right circumstances, now I'm just trying to figure out how my current MVP 12 install is preventing it from behaving properly, thanks for your advice,
  7. Great, than I have nothing to blame for the same problem as all the others, where a black screen pops us for a second and then disappears. Apparently this is a problem without a solution for a number of us. At least having the proper year is rather irrelevant to the gameplay, as the proper schedule is all that matters. I've gotten used to the players being 16 years old.
  8. Is there a way to get Schedule Updater to work with Windows 7? I have never been able to get it to work since I got a new machine, even running as admin or in compatibility mode.
  9. I don't recall ever seeing it rain in the game either. I guess the only weather effects in the game are when you go to play a game and it says it has been rained out. Would be interesting to play in the rain or snow, but probably not that interesting, Probably would be similar to Madden, where the snow or rain effects have an overexaggerated impact on several aspects of the game, and lead to stupid mistakes. Would be kinda cool to see batters shivering or players slipping on the field, but my guys make enough errors as it is.
  10. Having seen the Mets-Rockies game cancelled because of snow yesterday, and probably today, made me wonder, has anyone ever seen it snow in any game of MVP? I am guessing the answer is no, as I've played with the Rockies so many times and never seen it, but curious if anyone knows if snow exists in the game at all?
  11. Please upload the file to mvpmods so we can download it from here instead of some unreliable site. I was only able to complete the download for part 5, all other parts simply stopped downloading around 70-80% The Part 5 that was able to complete was only an .exe file, Is the idea to just run each .exe file in a row? Would be nice to know what the .exe file will be doing rather than just running them, thanks for your work though.
  12. Player ages are pretty much always wrong anymore, I think some of us can get the year changer to work but most of us cannot, you just have to ignore the ages, or just add 8-9 years, based on the fact that we're playing a game released in 2005. I never found a good answer as to why the year changer utility won't work, I assume its a Windows 7 problem. Doesn't affect the players abilities though. From what I've seen the minors are more up to date than they were in the 2013 roster that came out end of Feb., but as stated in the info with this, the next version will have correct minors. I only really know the Rockies depth charts in the minors, and those we're not up to date, but had most of the correct players. These rosters are great for now, though!
  13. Look in the forums, you have to edit the team.dat file to move the Astros to AL, instructions are in the forums. The rosters are great, simmed through a whole season without a freeze up. Thanks!
  14. Solved my own problem. For anyone else in the furute with the same questions about where to put the datafile, after much digging I figured out that you can just put your choice of datafile in the mvp/data directory. Thanks for again for all your hard work Daflyboys!
  15. Hi, I LOVE your sliders, but I cant figure out what to do with the datafile.txt file to get it to work. Tried to rename to datafile.big, obviously thats not the way. Tried to install the whole simgamepack.rar, didnt get it either. I love the view from directly behind the pitcher, and really want to get that into my non-Classics games. Any suggestions? Thanks for all your hard work!!! Red
  16. Does this Citi Field have the new dimensions? Should be much more hitter friendly this year.
  17. Any idea where to fine tywiggins schedule updater these days? No mlbmods anymore......
  18. So far so good, great rosters! Thanks for all your work!
