i do have a working install and played fine with the initial game with the default rosters - it's when i install mvp13 that causes the problem, but anyway, i re-installed the game and patch 5 (using windows 7 64) and installed mvp13. i didn't want to try playing or simming a game yet until i make sure i'm using the right rosters. the first time i installed mvp13 and set up my dynasty, i selected to use the default roster because i figured that's the way mvp13 was set up - using their roster as the default roster.

i'll try it one more time. i completely uninstalled mvp2005 and the file in the my documents folder, re-installed mvp2005, re-installed patches 1-5, re-installed mvp13, and made sure portraits.big, models.big, and all stadiums were in the game directories etc and set up my profile and option preferences in the game, but before i try to set up a dynasty, i need to know is when it asks if i want to use the default rosters or not, do i select yes or do i select no. i shouldn't assume, but i'm assuming the mvp13 rosters are now the default rosters and i should choose yes

been a long time since i did anything with this game, but thought i would try it again. when i played the game, i saved the franchise, but don't see a 'saves' folder anywhere in my documents or in the game folder. you mention for windows 7 to go to start/user/appdata/roaming/2ksports/majorleague2k11/saves. i also saw a post the mentioned to install a slider mod in start/user/appdata/roaming/2ksports/mlb2k11/saves folder and i don't see anything that shows appdata, roaming, or saves

is there a way to have cpu vs cpu mode for both teams. i'd like to set the lineups and game options, then just watch the games without having to do any controller selections. also, is there a way to do a one-pitch mode, get rid of the pre-game warmups, etc
-
i'm having the same problem - i'd like to kill the music completely, but the only sound settings i see are the in-game sounds
-
i did find my saved mvp2005 stuff in the documents folder. thanks. i went through every folder in the game with windows explorer and i didn't find models.big in any of them. also, when i went through each folder, i noticed there were only 4 stadiums listed in there. i'll try to play a game with one of those stadiums to see if that works

i can't find markb faq anywhere on the site. i've typed in faq, mark b, looked in the forums, looked on help, looked on mvp. where is this post
-
i'll look up and print MarkB's faq list like you mention, but i've checked and unchecked every combination in mvp edit and i've tried data, database, etc.

something else baffles me. i can completely uninstall the game with revo uninstaller and get rid of everything that has the words ea sports or mvp2005 in it in the registry and in the directories, but when i re-install the game and play it, it still shows my profile info and my game settings

tried exhibition game - same thing
-
haven't tried an exhibition game yet, but i will. yes, i have show faces checked and no matter what roster i load, it shows 'no picture found'
-
how do i correct a cyberface issue? i thought the conversion would already have the corrected cyberfaces. i'm just about ready to give up on this game. i've already spent almost as much time trying to get this to work as i was playing the game before. i can't even get faces to show up in mvp edit even though i've followed all of the suggested posts. as i mentioned before, the conversion mods are the problem. i had crashing problems when mvp08 came out and just went back to playing the original game

well, i tried installing the game again. i completely uninstalled mvp 2005 using revo uninstaller. i reinstalled mvp2005 into a separate folder on my desktop instead of the c:programs directory. i right-clicked the mvp2005 folder and checked to allow everything as administrated for mvp2005. installed the 1st 3 patches into the game and installed mvp13 into that folder on my desktop and double-clicked the exploder file into that same desktop folder and ran the game and here is what i did when the game started: - clicked 'play ball' ok - selected season mode - ok - selected difficulty mvp - ok - organization - select - stl - ok - went through the audio, video, game, & tuning options - ok - selected 'season' mode - ok - went through the schedule and simmed the first 11 games one by one and they all played out ok - selected game 12 on the schedule to play and clicked go! - clicked play on the 'play-manage-sim' - ok - clicked on go! on the pitching rotations screen - ok - clicked on go! on the starting lineups screen - ok - clicked 'play' on the 'play-manage'sim' screen - ok - clicked go! on the controller screen which showed stl as keyboard 1 and pitt as cpu - ok - clicked go! on the stl road unis and pitt home unis - ok - clicked go! when on the pnc park night screen - mvp screen started loading, then crashed to the desktop i tried it again making sure i right-clicked on the mvp2005 icon and selected to run as administrator, and it crashed at the same point in the game i'm really sorry to be such a pain in the ***, guys, but i really wanted to play this game again after years of not playing it
-
yes, i agree with you guys - it would be more hassle than it's worth and could create more problems. do i understand correctly, from a post on a different thread, that you can't use the newer rosters like mvp13, baseup &3 end of season, etc with the basic game and they will only work for mvp13? as far as my efforts on getting this game to work, mvp13 is the problem. i've gone through (using mvpedit) and checked the uniforms and rosters to make sure they're ok and the game still crashes, so i'm content to play the game in it's original form (because it works when i do that) without the mvp13 conversion mod. i just want a current (or 2013) roster that will work with the original game. i will probably download and install an updated portrait mod after that to get the faces current also (if they work with the basic game that's not using the mvp13). i know i haven't mentioned it, but i really thank you guys for your help and suggestions and appreciate what you're doing for the mvp community. i also have 2k11, but haven't played it yet because of all the negative reviews i've heard about it compared to mvp2005. i wish ea sports wouldn't have abandoned the pc users in their sports games. i really enjoyed playing this game and madden nfl, but everything has gone to the console buyers because there's more money there
-
i forgot to mention, i did check the roster area in the downloads and either didn't see any or the ones i saw didn't mention if they were for mvp2005 original or the mvp11,12, or 13 conversions. i did read somewhere in the forums that the rosters for the conversions will crash the original game if not used with the conversions themselves
-
being the game works fine with a clean installation of mvp2005 and the patches and only crashes when using mvp13, where can i get current rosters for the original game - non mvp13 rosters that will work with the original game. i can live with playing the game with the original installation, i just need updated rosters for it
-
the instructions say to explode the file into the folder that contains a clean installation of mvp2005 and explains a clean version is the original version and patches. i installed the game into my C:programs folder and did the first 2 patches. i ran the game to make sure it ran ok as installed. it did - with no problems. i then exploded the mvp13 stuff into that folder and ran the game. it went fine all the way to the start of a game, then crashed to the desktop. i then ran the game in administrator mode and it did the same thing. i then exploded the mvp13 onto the desktop and ran the mvp2005 from there. it immediately crashed to the desktop after displaying the mvp13 opening screen. i completely uninstalled the game and will explode mvp13 into a different folder on my desktop again and try it again. i'm using the original 2-cd mvp2005 that i bought when the game originally came out. as i mentioned, i've been using mvp2005 and a ton of the mods for quite a while, but haven't used the game for 3 or 4 years now and i just recently got the time to use it again, so i re-installed it. i'm using windows 7 64 bit version
-
i ran the mvp2005 game in administrator mode as you suggested. it did the same thing but went one screen further (that showed the pitcher) before it crashed to the desktop
-
the instructions say to put the explodeme in the same folder that the fresh installation of mvp2005 is in. that's what i did, but i'll re-install the game and do it all over again putting the explodeme onto the desktop and running it there. the first time i installed this game, i made a separate folder and put the explodeme into that folder and ran it. wouldn't that be basically the same as running it from the desktop?
-
i'm also having problems with the game crashing with mvp13 installed. i'm using windows 7 and here are the steps i've done: - installed a clean version (from discs) of mvp2005 and installed patch #2 - opened up and ran the game fine - played a couple of games & simmed a dozen games & they worked fine - installed mvp13 as directed with the explodeme in the mvp2005 clean install folder and ran the game - mvp13 loaded fine clicked on game modes (season) - clicked 'new season' - difficulty mvp - clicked 'season schedule' and selected the game on the schedule and went to the game scheduled & clicked 'play/manage' - clicked through the rotation & lineup editing screens & clicked 'go' - clicked 'play' on the 'play-manage-sim' screen & clicked on 'play' when the teams came up - settings were keyboard 1 for st. louis and cpu for arizona. clicked 'go' on that screen and clicked 'go' when the uniforms screen came up & also clicked 'go' when the stadium screen came up & left the setting on 'night'. then it crashed to the desktop with an error that said -mvp2005.exe has stopped working - close program. i've tried this several times with the same result. i thought it may have crashed the first time i tried to play the game because i changed the gameplay options and uniforms, but i tried it with just the same default settings that came on the screen as mentioned above, but it still crashed. because the rosters were current rosters when mvp13 started, i left the 'use default rosters' at NO just the way they were when i started mvp13. i haven't played this game in 4 or 5 years and erased everything i had on my computer (roster mods, stadium mods, one pitch mode, etc plus all of the tutorials) so i'm starting all over again
-
i also need help importing rosters into mvp edit. i had all of the mods and tutorials 6 or 7 years ago and really enjoyed this game. when i moved, i tossed out all of my mod tutorials, best slider settings, etc, but now i want to get back into the game. i'm running windows 7, installed a clean version of mvp2005, then patch 6. i ran the game and everything worked fine - simulating and playing. i then installed mvp13, but haven't tried playing it yet, but the first time i tried this, it crashed. i opened mvpedit and clicked files-import-dat files and it keeps giving me a screen to click a file- i opened mlb2005 datadatabase and clicked on the mvp13.mbe and instead of importing it into the mvpedit, it asks me if i want to save it and if i click yes, it asks if i want to overwrite the file. before this last clean installation of the game, i could get into the roster, but it didn't show and portraits. i checked all of the forums and utilities to try to find the tutorial for mvpedit and some of the mods i liked to use before - like the one pitch mode, but can't find them. any help would be appreciated
-
i see quite a few roster files, uniform files, stadium files, etc to download, but i don't see where to extract these files. i don't see mlb2k11 in the documents and settings - only in my program files. is this where they go?
