The date on the calendar is 2012, but the schedule itself is the real MLB 2013 schedule, with Houston in the AL and all the crazy interleague stuff all year long. Nobody to my knowledge has figured out how to start a franchise in any other year than 2012.. After the first season of a franchise, the schedule moves back to the "traditional" interleague format, Houston remains in the AL, but essentially, they play a NL schedule with their standings counting in the AL West.

Nitro - you need to use a Roster that has the 2013 schedule built in, such as BSU FAN's roster.

2K Pulls All Sales And Websites Linked To Mlb2K Franchise.

Oh, and I have to also editorialize --- So much crap has happened on Bud Selig's watch, that I think he should retire in shame, not thinking he's advanced the game. -
2K Pulls All Sales And Websites Linked To Mlb2K Franchise.

I think it's sad, but I don't think we're left any more in the lurch than we were after MLB screwed us out of MVP baseball. MLB2K is still a very fun game to play. It sucks that history is repeating itself. -
I am just 15-20 games away from completing my first franchise season with BSU's roster, and I think the rating system is very, very good. I think WudL's will be great also. I cannot find anything to criticize, I'm enjoying my franchise very much.

Hi everyone -- I fired up 2K12 to play some baseball tonight, and after the game started, it connected to 2K Sports and did some kind of download that took about 20 seconds. I can't figure out what it was, nothing seems different.. Anyone have any ideas? Was thinking patch for a brief hopeful moment.

I've tested through 3 seasons and into spring training of the 4th. All looks good. To elaborate on what BSU was saying about the Astros playing an NL schedule, after the first year all teams go back to the "traditional" unbalanced schedule with one inter league series in May and the rest in June. Although the Astros cannot be seen in the division standings. their record can be viewed in the "League Standings" option, with the rest of the AL teams. I think the only mystery now is what would happen if the Astros were to actually make it to the post season. I don't have the kind of patience to test enough seasons to see that happen, since they seem to perpetually suck. Thanks again, I'm off to start a franchise!

Hey Storm.. There's a slider file included with the roster download.
-
Thanks BSU. I'll give it a thorough work out as well

Wow, that is great news. Is the download link the same, or will there be a new one?

I went back and checked the standings in the test franchise I did, an that is indeed a problem

The only way I've found to do this is to start a new franchise, and control all 30 teams. You can set 29 teams to have all the tasks automated, and just have manual for the team you want to play as. Then, when you want to change teams, you just have to set your current team to automated, and set your new team to manual. It's not ideal, but it works.

I did a test, controlling all 30 teams (I play as the Tigers, but like to switch teams after a few years of franchise, so have the other 29 teams set to automate all tasks). I simmed through 2 seasons and started a third, stopping to play bits of both spring training games and regular season games, through opening day of season 3. Using this method, everything seems to be ok.

Glad you are ok now, Wud!

Bummer. The level of excruciating detail he goes into is amazing and impressive. I hope he returns. Regarding the schedule, I have to admit with a large degree of shame that I'd like the original schedule, too. I hate saying that, because I was one of the guys campaigning so hard for the "new" schedule. But, as purely a franchise player, I love playing many seasons into the future. Again, bummer. Hopefully we haven't seen the end of MLB 2K12 modding. It hasn't caught fire, longetivity wise, like MVP05 did, and it's kind of a shame, because it really is a fun game to play (warts and all).

Question For Pickle Brad (And All Other Geniuses) Re: Timing
Hollywood70 replied to Hollywood70's topic in MLB 2K12
Thanks for the replies, guys. Just wanted to make sure it's clear --- I think KC's stadium lighting is absolutely brilliant.. The thing I was griping about is the lack of sunshine at 7 PM on a summer evening. Thanks again -
I recall while reading PB's thread about modifying the dirt and the rate at which it dries it was mentioned that there is some kind of timing mechanism in the game for this kind of thing. I'm wondering if that came into play when designing the new dirt and the rate at which it dries (great, GREAT mods, btw). My interest is the timing of the lighting for night games. I think that 2K12 does a REALLY nice job with the sunlight fading/shadows gathering as games go on. But, it annoys me that it appears that all night games start around 9 PM on a typical Summer evening. My estimation is that the sunlight for a 7 PM start should look more like it does around the 7th inning of a 4 PM game in 2K12 (i.e., still some sun and shadows prior to gathering darkness). I'm sure this is a long shot, but figured it couldn't hurt to ask if a modification could be made. Thanks all for the great improvements!

The best thing to do is download an update of directX from the official Microsoft site. That should fix the problem and you won't run the risk of getting a malicious file.

These are fantastic. Looking forward to seeing what you do with that weird "ugly green wallpaper" pattern on the infield grass in Oakland

You can just copy everything from your old folder EXCEPT the exe file and overwrite the files in your new location!
-
I have seen a few others post the same. I can't really tell any difference in how it plays. Do you have any specific examples of things that seem better? Maybe I'm just too overwhelmed by being able to simply click the icon and have the game start without having to jump through any hoops .
-
Being just an ordinary player and not one of the really smart guys who does the mods, what I'd recommend is not doing a fresh install, but instead creating the default location/folder and copying (without deleting anything from your E drive) everything into it. Then try to install the patch and see what happens. Even if it doesn't work, you still have everything in it's original location. If it DOES work, you can do the reverse and copy the new exe file to the place where your current install is. Hope everything works out!

That's strange -- my downloaded amazon copy was modded up the wazoo, including the scoreboard with stats (really miss the stats now, btw), and I had no problems patching. It did take quite a long time, though. I thought something was wrong but it eventually started to install.

That's strange. I also have the amazon download, but it worked fine for me. Is your game in the default directory?
