  1. I have been playing a "test franchise", like I do every year, to get everything tuned and setup exactly the way I want it, while waiting for all you mod geniuses (you know who you are!) to do all the amazing things you do before starting my "real" franchise. Anyhow.. One of the things I have noticed is that albeit rare, there are times when ball parks are NOT packed, and the nosebleed sections are fairly empty. I have played a lot of games now, around 80-90, and I only have consciously noticed this three times -- once while playing against the Twins, once against the Indians, and once against the Pirates. In all three cases, these teams weren't very good, and also in all three cases, it was only one game of three where the stands had empty seats. So, I'm not sure there is any logic behind this, or if it's random. But it does add a touch of realism.... Of course, all of this is void if there are tons of empty seats for playoff games, with the exception of Atlanta (sorry Braves fans).. I will be paying closer attention to this as I continue to play and tune.
  2. There are pros and cons... One of the pro's, of the top of my head is that there is nice array of diving and sliding catches added, but not overdone. Fielding looks and feels much better this year. One of the con's.. Although I initaly didn't think this was a bad thing, the lack of time for a baserunner to get their lead, etc, while the pitcher getting into a set position being so short has in fact proven to be a detriment.. It's very hard to get a good lead and decide whether to send your runner or not without missing a pitch, and I don't mean swinging and missing, I mean not concentrating on the pitcher until the pitch has gone by before you are ready. Initialy I liked that it kept me engaged, but through 3 months of a test franchise, turns out it's not good. Not game play related, but I still want less of the guy yelling "Hit it out to (insert name of nerby city)!!" and some guys yelling things like "hot dogs" or "Ice cold soda" or something.. I dunno. .They haven't upgraded the crowd/ambient audio in years. Although, I have to admit that it is amusing when you are playing a game in Florida or Arizona for spring training and someone shouts "hit it to Toledo!"
  3. Apologies to Cleveland fans... But the Indians uni's today -- YUCK. I liked Cheif Wahoo on the blue caps.
  4. Amen,Y4L... We Tigers fans feel the same way about countless rival players in the league -- it's called respect, IMO. I'm just sorry that this thread was hijacked by someone deciding to stir the pot, since after reading the title I was hoping to find some roster info :)
  5. Again - great job on these! Although, the batting helmet D was in fact Orange.
  6. I fianally had a chance to check -- I have all of the error sliders for user and cup set to 35. Seems to be realistic.
  7. No question, online is definitely not the way to play this game. Re: errors. I've found that if you adjust the "gather" and other types of errors to be farily low, you get decent results. Next time I've got the game launched, I'll make a note of what I have them set to and let you know .
  8. Also - nice touch fixing the color of the "D" on the helmets :)
  9. I always end up with custom. Lots of people will claim they've found the "perfect slider combo" and post it, but I don't think there is one that is perfect for everyone.. You just have to keep tweaking until you find what works for the way you play it. I usually play about 20-30 games, tweaking all the way, until I get mine where I think they need to be. Interesting note: 2K11 sliders don't compute with 2K12 sliders.. I attempted to just use the exact settings I had in 2K11 and it didn't work out very well. Just got to do a lot of trail and error.
  10. I love it.
  11. Interesting to know that fact. I play franchise, but I have the squares turned off in the settings -- I don't like it to be too easy. For similar reasons, I hate that the pitch types turn red/yellow/green based on usage.. Nobody can tell me that Justin Verlander should stop using his fastball after 1 inning.
  12. This one? http://www.mvpmods.com/index.php?showtopic=51646
  13. Hmmm... Try this. Start a franchise, and then do a windows search for the .fxg file. That will point you to the profile folder.
  14. Ah, now I understand. FWIW, I think 2K12 is worth the 26 bucks I paid to download it from amazon.com, so if you've got the spare cash, it won't be wasted.
  15. Okay, I had an unusal spell of not being lazy and found the path to where the profile files are.. In Windows 7, they are in Users | name (whatever you have named your user profile) | AppData | Roaming | 2k Sports | Major League Baseball 2K12. If you are going to do a true reinstall, you have to get rid of this stuff too.
  16. If you reinstall, don't forget that all of your "profile" stuff is in a different folder, not where all the game files are. It's actually kind a nice feature, because if you reinstall you don't lose your franchise, etc.. Make sure to do a thorough search for the 2K folder that is NOT in your programs folder .
  17. Not sure which way he's asking for, but all of the AL and NL stadiums have been posted to the download section based on last years ads, modified for 2K12.. Being pretty non-particular, I just like having real billboards in my stadiums, even if they aren't what is "real" this year, It's a big enhancement. Plus, being a Tigers fan, I am pretty sure there will be no way to incorporate the new scoreboard that was installed in Comerica Park during the off season. Side note - love the addition of the giant LCD screen, but wondering why they changed the Tigers logo and removed the big "old fashioned" clock in the new Comerica.

    Mvp 08?

I keep seeing references to MVP 08.. Did I miss a release?
  19. I like it too. I am famously easy to please, but as long as there are no "game breakers" (i.e., 2007 when you couldn't advance to the post season if your team played it's last game on the east coast), I'm usually satisfied. That being said, I can probably list 20 "nice to have" things off the top of my head that the game needs, doubtful that many of them would be too difficult if the dev team wasn't working on a project that is a perennial money loser and with limited dev cycels. But, it is what it is. The mods here ehnace this thing like crazy, so thankful for them.
  20. The manual has always been basically worthless.. Even moreso for those of us who downloaded the game from amazon Most of the time, a basic question can be easily addressed by someone here or by just searching around the forum. I ask a lot of questions myself, so please don't take this as a "look before you ask" type thing, but there is a lot of info hidden in here. Often, it is hidden in threads whose titles don't reflect your question, so (my opinion) please don't hesitate to ask. I, for one, will always respond if I know the answer (I know nothing about mods or modding .but I spend a lot of time playing). The game is quirky, but still fun.
  21. That might explain why Danny Worth looks like Ross on the episode of Friends when he gets spray tanned 5 times.
  22. Oh, btw... You can always go into your controler config and look at what each item is mapped to when you can't figure somehting out. You can change it if you want, but at minimum it shows which button does what.
  23. This item translates to the logitech, so what DS said applies.
  24. Sadly, I am afraid you are probably right regarding PC baseball going extinct. However, 2K didn't do a PC version until 2K9.. Was there an obligation?
  25. So do you think that if MLB doesn't get an exclusive licensing arrangement, nobody will make a baseball game (other than MLB The Show)?
