If they really don't do another version next year (personally, I think they might -- I doubt that any of the companies will sign an exclusive with MLB), I hope they are at least kind enough to issue a patch for the new league alignment/schedule format that starts in 2013.

Certainly not high priority, but hoping one of you mod geniuses who happens to be a Tigers fan can correct the color of the "D" on the Tig's road helmets. In 2K12, the helmets show the white D on the batting helmets rather than the orange one. Oddly, they got this right on the caps, just not the helmets. Again, no biggie. Appreciate all the stuff you guys create.

Ty's 2K11 editor is safe, and will open .ROS files from 2K12. Unfortunately it will not open this years version of the .fxg (franchise) files, so that is a bit of a bummer. Ty has stated that he's not making a new editor this year.

Have you installed any mods? The only time I had crashing issues is after I had installed a portraits mod. I put the original files back in and the crashing stopped.

Not sure what you mean about offense/defense/pitching.. They are the way they've been in the past. Regarding the check swing - it's flawed enough to really not bother with unless you a positive you are going to miss a pitch and it makes no difference so why not try to check it. Otherwise, the better advice is to just not swing.

Wow, these are brilliant! Oddly enough for me, as a life-long Tigers fan, this is the first year I haven't wanted to change the startup! Unless someone comes up with a classic Kirk Gibson screen ;)

Anyone else notice that in situations where it seems like a runner would/should be running with their head down, they kind of tilt their head up as if they are the Queen of England? Too minor of an issue to warrant a patch, but worth mentioning. I didn't notice this in previous versions. Regarding a patch in general, I have seen very little that I think needs to be patched. Certain pitchers (Verlander for instance) will generate "Your pitcher is ready in the bullpen" or "Your pitcher is getting tired in the bullpen" messages, even when they have already been in the game for an inning or two. Minor annoyance.

My only advice is to go to the same screen mentinoned by the others above, except on keyboard control mode, select "swing" and start trying various keys until you see what you need. I would start with the 4 key. Sorry can't be more help, but good luck! I am also a big time "classic" guy.

My Best Buy said they'd do a "ship to store", you just have to go online and order it through their web site and they will send it to your local store and it will be reserved for you. As for worrying about patch problems, etc. I've stopped. 2k is notoriously slow at patching this game, and I'll bet that by the time a patch comes out, there will be DVD copies available somewhere fairly cheap.

There appears to be 4 AAA stadiums, 3 AA stadiums, and 2 "spring training" stadiums, judging by taking a glance at the file names.

I haven't explored this fully yet, because I've been too busy playing out games, but after scouting my AAA roster of "fake" players, I found several - 8 batters, for instance - who are WAY too old. They are classified as "rookies" and have no MLB experience, but their birthday shows that they were born in years like 1979, 1980, etc. I haven't cheked the other teams or my AA and A teams yet, but if all of the fake players are like this, it would be pretty bad to start a franchise using the 2K rosters. :(

Weird re: classic controls. They are working fine for me, although I had to do some re-mapping to make everything the way I wanted it (ironically, most of the changes I make end up mapping the buttons to the way MVP 05 played out of the box, heh). Let me know what problems you are having, maybe I can help.

A definite "no" for using Ty's editor to load .fxg files.

For checking swings, you are supposed to hit the swing button again, however it's VERY difficult to do. I think I've only pulled off maybe 3 checked swings in an entire year of playing 2K11.

I have noticed that, but I kind of like it. Keeps me on my toes.

Sorry to be starting a new thread for each observation, but I figure it's easier for people to read things that interest them this way. RE; Helmets.. I've noticed that the batting helmets in this years game look very "washed out" color-wise. Played a game vs the Phillies, and their helmets look damn near pink. Hope one of our brilliant modders has a solution :)

I simmed an entire season as well, DetroitStyle.. You'll be glad to know with everything turned on to "automatic" the tigers handily won the central with 96 wins, despite losing Verlander for 60 days due to an injury... Unfortunately they lost in the Division Series. I advanced to 2013 to check out the schedule. Unfortuantely, it's still all wonky in terms of start times -- all Sunday games are night games, etc etc. I noticed while playing 2K11 that this seemed to correct itself every 5 seasons and then go back to strange. At least they have the proper days off, not weekend days off and such as was the case in 2K10. Additional observation - WAY too many injuries on the default setting. And they still don't pronounce "Boesch" properly

Interesting... And weird that there were no warnings in your original scenario.

The way I understand it, both teams have to hit a batter before there are warnings... So if you bean guys all day and nobody on your team gets beaned, no warnings.
