FF, you gotta give it an outer glow (Right-click on the text layer and click Blending Options; choose 'Outer Glow') -dan

Just a little tip for you guys...grunge is losing its popularity, and it rarely looks good unless you've got some layers above it with colors, effects, etc. I'll try to put a little tutorial together when I find the time. -dan

I like reading other people's thoughts...it's like I can read your minds, only different. ...I guess I'm not really open for freelancing right now - only select jobs. It's actually pretty nice to not have anything right now - I can get to work on learning this PHP crap. ...I visited the Yankees' homepage for the first time (other than to get siggy pics) since around the all-star break a few days ago. I was like..."whoa, they made the playoffs!" Then I found out they lost and went to bed and slept like a baby. When you're using those pixel fonts, don't forget to turn off anti-aliasing. It seems like all the userbars I've seen lately have blurry text, and this is the reason why. The anti-aliasing box is at the top of the window when the text tool is selected. -dan

If you're using Photoshop, duplicate the layer with your pic on it (Ctrl+J). Take the top layer that you duplicated and give it a motion blur (Filter>Blur>Motion Blur) of about 40 with an angle of 0. Set that blurred layer to Color Dodge. -dan
