  1. Nice job Guest. Good text. Only thing, you missed the area inside the 'e' in Orioles. Also, in your current sig, you missed a spot between the 't' and 'r' in Detroit. Good work, though. -dan
  2. You know, I've been meaning to say this, but that white Scriptina 1px stroked with black 1px isn't working for me. Try making it bolder or something and stroking it with a different color/gradient. -dan
  3. You've improved a lot lately Hokieboy, but you need to move away from the serif fonts. Those only work well if they're used properly. Try using some thin fonts, which can be found at dafont.com. They work well. Nice sigs, though. :smlie: -dan
  4. Boy, this thread's been popular lately...I guess the forum has been too, now that I think about it. Nice work guys. Always nice to see some new faces in the sig-making industry. -dan
  5. I was thinking more along the lines of this... -dan
  6. I liked your old ones better. No logo - it really just looks like a red blur. Nice design though - maybe you could end the horizontal white line 5-10px from the left edge and make it go up along the side? l l l l_ _ _ _ _ _ -dan P.S. - Spivey - I almost chose that bar...
  7. Oh yeah, Joey just reminded me - my new MacBook will be loaded. Vista, Mac OSX or possibly Leopard, the new Photoshop, Flash, InDesign, Illustrator...wow. -dan
  8. Dang, I forgot about this... -13! -I was on vacation to D.C. last weekened and my site got hacked. =( I found this out at the Apple store at Pentagon City. While there I picked out my laptop - only a year till I get it! =p It was cool - they let me get on one of their iMacs and I tried to get the hacked page down. Forgot the passwords at home... -Two new websites to do next week. Can't wait. -Little league baseball season's over so no more nightly score updates! -13th birthday was exciting - mom was away, dad was out all week, bro had camp - what a great day. =p -dan
  9. Kerry's back! I've always liked your style... -dan
  10. Holy crap man how many are you going to request?
  11. Little late... -84? Here, it's 95. Try playing a baseball game in that. ...I'm always on the team that is on the field in one inning longer than most games last. =( -Before I had so much stuff to do, and now, I'm bored to death. That means it's time for another blog post... -I'm losing interest in baseball. -Dad's birthday is today. Anybody got any ideas for a quickie present? Maybe something to do with his website? -Developed an ad style - looking at a spot on Pixel2life.com... -Planning on getting and Apple laptop this summer...don't know which kind yet -dan
  12. I'd like to add to Franchise_Player's post by saying that when cutting out hair or anything without definate edges, use about 1px feathering. That cuts down on the sharp edges. You can do this by changing the number at the top of the screen while using the polygonal lasso tool (the tool options panel). -dan
  13. -Finally, after a week of tempers, kicked basketballs (long story), and endless hours in front of the computer, I'm caught up on all my work. Here's a little recap... Monday After a total of 15.5 logged hours, I've successfully completed the transformation of the Ferndale Baseball site into HTML/CSS, with a little PHP and JavaScript thrown in as well. The problem was, the 5% of the people in the league viewing the site in Firefox weren't seeing it correctly. The text was rendered as an image, so none of the links worked and images were saved as .GIFs instead of my JPEGs. Finally. Tuesday I don't even want to talk about it. I go into Internet Explorer, and the site looks horrible. I have to go back to my original site. 15.5 hours and a whole weekend down the drain. Wednesday No emailed scores yet so I can't republish the Ferndale Site. I do completely finish my own site so it was posted. Good way to end the day... Thursday Finally, some scores - Ferndale Baseball site is up and everybody's happy. Did I mention this was a volunteer job? Friday Treated myself to a date =) Saturday Add a new blog entry, fix some stuff on the Ferndale Baseball site, add a mailing list for game delays, and a basketball game at night. Fun day! -My major accomplishment of the week was that I got my own site, Simplicity-Designs.com, up. It's great - check it out. I spent a while on this. -Won't be open for anything until about halfway through June, in case you are wondering. =) -I got the new Internet Explorer Beta. It's not that bad, but I'm still hooked on Firefox. -Did IE effect my computer's text, or did a recent Windows update? It's all anti-aliased now. It's awesome! -Looking at the Apple PowerMac G5. Not sure if I really want a desktop - maybe a laptop is better? -Anybody seen United 93 yet? I'm going today. -Things are starting to get buisier for me. I'll be floating around this site, but I won't be very active. I'll make a post here and there, but mainly, you won't see me around much. I won't forget you guys - this was the first forum I ever belonged to. Good luck with the mods! -Have a great and safe weekend everybody! -dan
  14. On dafont.com, just search for "Comic" and you'll get what you want. =) BTW it's DAFONT.com, without the 's'. -BBHD
  15. -My city is really starting to rebuild...a completely new, multi-use baseball field/sports complex is being built, which will host local sports as well as the AAABA (All American Ametuer (?) Baseball Association) Tournament. Good stuff. They also built these sweet new lofts/apartments, and there are plans to build a new complex with office buildings, a rooftop fitness center, apartments, and a swimming pool. -Baseball's getting to be boring. I hope nobody gets mad at this. I don't even want to play baseball this year, even though it's my final year in little league... -[groan] All of the sudden, things got busy. I'm not even 20% finished with my site for Simplicity Designs, I got a newsletter to design for my dad, a Flash (should be done in PowerPoint but I hate that thing) story due Thursday, and not to mention the daily updates to the little league site I'm in charge of. -I suspect all the business mostly becuase of this article in the paper last week. I even pushed Lynn Swan back to page 7... -Sorry about my lack of time for sig making...just don't have the time. If you PM me about a sig, I'll try to get to it, but I can't promise it will be right away. -Dad's calling me for my "computer expertise"...probably needs help doing the flyer of his for today...laters -BBHD
  16. New sig...comments appriciated. -BBHD
  17. Hmm..KC, I'd stick with the 1px black border. I know that you have a border (I think set to Overlay), but it still looks like everything is running off the sig. Just my opinion. -BBHD
  18. Amazing work KC. I have no time for sigs now...too much work to do. I've only done one thing in Photoshop lately... My Web Template -BBHD
  19. Or you can get some C4D. IMO, brushed backgrounds aren't as good. They may look nice, but you really didn't do anything, did you? -BBHD
  20. I don't like the text. Sorry, but it's too pixelated for me. (Friedman's sig(s)) -BBHD
  21. Y4L, United 93 is coming out April 28. It seems half decent. Rated R for terror. Thank you captain obvious. Oh yes... -I got a book by Clay Aiken yesterday - Learning to Sing. It's not about singing, but about his life and how he dealt with it. It's a really great book. His mother is also pretty damn smart. -Simplicity Designs. All is going well...I hate the site I have so I've been working on a completely new layout. It should be done by next weekend. My Developer's Blog is good too except you can't comment. I'm still working on that part. -I had a good Easter yesterday, got lots of candy, pigged out, and only had to go to one grandparents house. I watched National Geographic all day. Oh well it was better than doing nothing. -I'm going to Altoona (PA) today...I play organ and piano (and cello but who cares) and there's a concert up there in two weeks. I'm going for pictures and to practice my stuff. One is the Tocatta in something by Bach. It's the one you usually associate with Dracula. I really can't wait - it's going to sound great in that big cathedral. -I have one pair of jeans. Good thing I'm going out later today. -I got chosen for some spelling bee the same day as our class field trip which is the same day as the Math-a-thing that I was going to. On May 3rd. I haven't started practicing the words yet...at least I know how to spell "aunt". -And the Middle School Computer Fair is 10 days away. My site is going well, and all I pretty much have to do is finish my display board. -BBHD
  22. I like it, but the background doesn't go with Podsednik. I don't like the logo either - too distorted. Grunge doesn't go that nicely. My latest: -BBHD
  23. I like the effect on Arroyo but the background is too plain. I do like the background on your current sig, though. It's nice and smooth. -BBHD
