  1. NHL 2004 has 2 different covers. It was originally supposed to be Joe Thornton but he got charged with something. So then they changed it to Dany Heatley who killed his teammate in a car accident. Finally, Joe Sakic made the final version of the cover
  2. Winning the World Series has a major effect on the team's budget. I seem to recall a significant increase when my team would win it all in a sim-dynasty. It could be as much as $5 million or much more, but I don't exactly remember
  3. Also included in their contracts is their expected level in the organization. The problem could be that one of your players is expected to be in AAA but is only playing in AA.
  4. Each player on your team has a contract which includes their expected playing time. If you have a second baseman who is consistently not playing, but his contract says that he is an everyday player, he will definitely be unhappy. On the other hand, some players have a contract in which they agreed to be bench players, so their happiness will not be affected. You'll see what I mean if you check the contract section of the "player info" tab when viewing your team's rosters.
  5. They are yearly goals. Your team needs to be leading in a particular category at the end of the season for the goal to be completed. It means nothing if you lead the league in something just 50 games in.
  6. I've been following these improvements on the NHL forum recently. Exciting stuff, it seems as though this game is limitless when it comes to modding
  7. The only way to play multiple seasons and enjoy it rightfully is to take your time. I learned that from bhurst's longevity and I'm trying to replicate that here. There will always be newer versions of sports games but that doesn't mean you have to abandon your franchise.
  8. Thanks Y4L, I'm enjoying this dynasty as I play it at my own pace, similar to bhurst99. It allows me to tweak settings and sliders to get the game just right. Stats are now updated through December

  13. Seth Smith with his second HR of the year already
  14. MLB.tv broadcasts one game for free every day of the season on MLB.com. I always take advantage of these gifts. Tonight it's the Dodgers and Padres in San Diego.
  15. I haven't had a chance to install this mod yet but I don't need to play it to know that it will be amazing. The Total Classics crew of Jim825 and DennisJames71 always deliver with outstanding work. I look forward to playing the 1984 season.
  16. I will DVR the 4 AM game and then watch it when I wake up on Saturday. Can't think of a better way to start the day I'm heading down to Florida this week and I will be at two Red Sox spring training games, against the Pirates and the Yankees. I'll try and post pictures in this thread when I can.
  17. Since I enjoy this dynasty so much I'm going to post in here more often. It's always annoying when defensive mishaps happen because an animation fails to kick in (1st inning) The shortstop for Seattle managed to overthrow Richie Sexson WOW Encarnacion needs to get the tag down quicker
  18. I remember him being great for you last year, but wow, I forgot about the batting title - awesome.
  19. Nice win Overbay is off to a hot start
  20. Kobe scores 65 points in this instant classic The Knicks and Lakers provided fans with one of the best games in recent memory on this Christmas Day. Kobe was unstoppable all game long. J.R. Smith scored 34 points in a valiant effort. Kobe's 65 points are tied for the second highest total of his career.
