  1. That's true and besides, turkey tastes better.
  2. I don't want that to happen either. I think that is a good idea and at the same time I don't believe anyone would have a problem with this. I know I would welcome it. However, you are overlooking something very important in order for this to happen. Nobody posts in here anymore. NOBODY. We are lucky that we get ten posts per week in here and that includes the posts from the people who ask for help downloading the game for free. And please, don't tell me because it's the off-season that's the reason for the lack of posts. This place wasn't on fire in June or July either. I don't know why people do not come in here and post anymore. I have talked about this in the past. I made a thread out there about this same subject a few years back and I have talked about this privately with some people. I don't get it. And you want people to discuss baseball? So do I man, so do I. But let's look at the past season. How many threads were made to talk about it? How about over this past World Series? Not one. When Dylan was around here he would make a thread with a poll about what team you wanted to win the Series and then we'd have some Series talk in that. But we had nothing like that. If it wasn't for occasional comments in that chat box you'd have never known the Royals were playing the Mets. To successfully have people come in here and talk baseball you need a group of people that will do it. You can't have just one person or else he'll just end up talking to himself. I'm not saying the people we had here years ago were better than the ones we have here now as regulars but I am saying they were different. At least they came in here and posted about anything and everything. Go back and look at some of those threads in the Left Field section. Some of them look pretty funny but they got people talking. That's because everyone contributed. Let me give you just two examples. There was a group of us hanging out here when the 2008 All-Star Game was going on. That was the game played at Yankee Stadium that went fifteen innings. We stayed around talking baseball to the very end of the game. Mark watched the entire game with us and he was five hours ahead of us in Scotland. When the game ended the sun was coming up over there. But a whole group of us including him stayed here until the end watching the game together and talking about it. You think that would happen again. And we are not talking about a long time ago. That was only seven years ago. The second example in a way touches on what Dennis James said about reading the comments in the chat box that had nothing to do with baseball. Non-baseball threads and posts in the chat box about that stuff is as old as this website. We had some knock-down fights about the presidential election back in 2004 and again in 2008. Things really got heated at times but it was always secondary because at the same time we were still talking baseball. In 2012 there really wasn't a lot of people talking about anything in here so that election came and went without any of the drama we had in previous years. The reason why talking about ISIS and Muslims and current events got so much attention here recently is because it overshadowed everything else here because nothing else goes on here. This site is big enough to have us talk about everything. From opinions about ISIS, to what your favorite music or movies or TV shows are, etc and anything and everything that has to do with baseball from the start of spring training to the final pitch of the World Series. But nothing will get done when there are ten or less posts a week in here.
  3. The way I look at it that is how you should play the game. For example if I am using the Yankees and you are using the Angels why would I want to throw all my pitches in the strike zone to someone like Mike Trout? Eventually you are going to time one and it's going to be in the left field bleachers. He's someone I would always pitch around.
  4. This is above and beyond anything I have ever played in online Mvp gaming. :)
Thanks for the new Padre uniforms but I have to ask one thing based on your mod description. Why would you release them if you don't know how to do numbers and letters yet? I am sure this is not an easy thing to do since I am not a uniform modder but well, wouldn't this make this mod not ready for release? I am not trying to put you or your work down. This is just an observation on my part.
  5. Yankee4Life

    new mods?

Why don't you look in the download section and find out for yourself?
  6. Ours are better. These guys took the mods from here without asking. That isn't their work.
  7. Yes he did change his name. I don't know why but I am sure with this guy it was in some way to avoid prosecution. And he looks 48.
  8. I am kind of surprised a major free agent hasn't been signed yet.
  9. Here's the latest. A new ISIS video warns of an impending attack on New York City. At this point I view these warnings as just as bad as the actual deed. New Jersey Governor Chris Christie said this week that his state would not accept those Syrian refugees including those as young as five years old. You want to know why? Take a look at this video. And after that let me ask you this. Would you like to have one of these junior jihadi bastards in the same day care as your kid? I don't want to think about.
  10. Thank you. Serves me right for not knowing a damn thing about politics.
  11. Damn I never knew this. They want to come here and have their laws instead of ours? Yeah, right. Before long they'll want Arabic as the official language of the U.S. And that's a good point. Why don't the other Arab countries stepping up to take these people? Oh I know why!! Then those so-called refugees won't have anything to blow up or anyone to kill if they go there.
Dennis just made the 1993 100% more playable. The accuracy that he provides to these mods is something that is second nature to this guy. Thank you again!
  12. No. No one's condemning all the Catholics here. Certain priests that did these things are being targeted here and rightfully so. That goes without saying. But we are not talking about all of the Catholics here (I'm one by the way) but rather only those small handful of priests. In this case you know what to look for. Not so fast with the Muslims. You can't tell a good one from a bad one and I don't want to find out. I think the Muslims that speak out against what other Muslims are doing are trying to divert attention away from what happened. They know more about what went on then they'll admit. Some people won't agree with this and that's fine. But that group of people have earned the right never to be trusted again. I don't want it like this but then again I don't go around killing people. Jim what if this happened next here in the U.S.? It would be awful, right? There would also be a pretty good chance you would know one of the victims directly or indirectly. You'd be so mad you'd never want to walk into a 7-11 again.
  13. Good question. Well, I'm sure they must have filled her in on that during her sign-up process to become a terrorist. I've been keeping up with this news by going to CNN and other news sites. What I find incredible is the story that some Muslims are condemning what happened in Paris. Sure they are.
  14. The French are not screwing around. They killed two more terrorists overnight and one female suspect killed herself at the scene by activating her suicide belt, which was no big deal since she asked for it. Other countries need to assist France here.
  15. I see what you mean. There's a lot of stories that will be and should be coming out of France in the next few months. People band together well during these times. The problem is this happens too often.
  16. Oh ok, thanks. I've seen those damn games myself. They are pretty detailed.
  17. Yeah that does sound terrible but you know what? If ISIS had the capability to do this to France or us or anyone else they don't like don't you think they would do it? I'm sorry but I am past the point about caring about those people. Wait a second. You're not kidding here are you? They planned this out playing games?
  18. So all this is America's fault? Go home troll. I had no idea this was going on over in England. You're right, radical Islam needs to be wiped off the face of the earth because there is no negotiating with them or reasoning with them. The only thing they know is guns and firepower and air strikes. I will say this one more time. You can not reason with them. What is going on is crazy and all of this is supposed to be in the name of their religion. These people are the ones who are beheading people. These people are the ones setting people on fire. These people shot down a Russian plane full of innocent people and bragged about. These people attacked Paris a few days ago and all they did next was make a video telling the French it was their fault and at the same time threatened Washington. What amazed me...AMAZED me...was reading about some people complaining about France's air strikes on Syria. What the hell? What I would love to see is the U.S., England, France and Russia do a combined air strike on these bastards and wipe them all out. If you notice each new ISIS attack is worse than the previous one. Enough is enough boys. What I think Tom is "sprouting" is his increased frustration with these people and I don't blame him. I feel the same way. And I don't want these Syrians here at all. Not one of them. And don't tell me that if we let ten thousand of them in only a couple of them could have ties to ISIS. To me that is one too many. Like I said before if they got to come here send them to Alaska so they can freeze. I've had it with these people and the things they do. They just finished killing 129 people in France. Christmas is next month. There's going to be a lot of families celebrating it with heavy hearts because of these people.
  19. This topic lately has generated a lot of talk in the shoutbox recently so I thought maybe a thread could be made about it for anyone who wanted to come in and chime in on it with any opinion they care to share. How would you stop them? What do you think should be done? Do you agree that allowing 10,000 Syrians in our country in 2016 is a good idea? Do you agree that over half the governors of the U.S. are not going to allow them in their state? Personally I don't trust a single one of them and I would not want them to be allowed to enter New York State. Isn't there enough problems already in our country without wondering if someone we let in is a radical Muslim in disguise? And if they have to come to the United States send them to Alaska. One winter there they'll be begging to go back home.
  20. Well thank you. That's all anyone could ask for.
  21. Will we ever have a that dark theme back? That one we had some months ago was the best one I have ever seen here.
  22. That right there makes me not want to upgrade. I still love my little XP laptop. :)
