  1. Then you did it wrong. Replacing an overlay is a very basic thing.
  2. Anyone that was around at that time and saw what was going on would not argue with you and I am certianly not going to. Munson was exactly what you said - the heart and soul of those great Yankee teams. I count myself lucky that I saw him play. But you must see we are talking about two different things here. I brought up what Jackson said about Rodriguez recently and it really had nothing to do with how he was during his Yankee years. Like him or not, Jackson said things about A-Rod that everyone must have been silently thinking to themselves but for one reason or another did not say it out loud.
  3. Already been attempted but never completed.
  4. Updated to 7-15 ...Despite being an American League fan it was still a pleasure to watch the All Star game although I would have preferred that Justin Verlander have a game like he did against the Yankees instead of the National League. ...Who am I kidding though? The Yankees would get guys on base and leave them there. ...I felt bad for Robinson Cano's family because they were harrassed by some Kansas City fans who must have had too much corn liquor in them to think straight. ...Some people were speculating that Verlander was distracted in the game because he has been seen going out with the gorgeous Kate Upton, which by any way you look at it is just foolish. Although if you think about it if he was preoccupied that's a hell of a good reason for it. ...Natalie Wood's 1981 drowning has been changed from "accidental" to "undetermined" on her death certificate after the case was re-opened last year. This now gives Robert Wagner something else to think about other than reverse mortgages. ...Less than two weeks after Katie Holmes told Tom Cruise to get lost an agreement was reached on their divorce settlement. How's that for quick work? Holmes must have something on Cruise to make him agree so fast and the Scientology big wigs knew it and told Cruise to give her what she wants. ...By the way, what is this Scientology anyway? Exactly who do they worship except the almighty dollar? I have never heard one good thing about them. This is a religion that encourages their members to cut off all contact with friends or family members who are "antagonistic" to Scientology. These people are a cult disguised as a religion. ...There's a movie being made about the life of Janis Joplin because someone figured why not. Already they've screwed it up because they inaccurately cast Nina Arianda in the lead as Joplin. Arianda's not hard on the eyes while Joplin makes Roseanne Barr look like Miss America. ...I had to laugh when I read the story about that woman who was watching NASCAR with a dead man for over a year because that is the only way that I'll ever watch a bunch of rednecks driving around in a circle. ...I'm sure if you asked Lenny Dykstra he'd tell you he's had better weeks. ...For any of you guys out there who have spent any time working in your yard pulling out weeds every time you think you've got them all you find another one. ...It was a special week last week here at Mvpmods in that we had two season mods released. First it was stecropper's 1962 season mod and then the 2012 season mod by Kyleb (among many others). The only problem I have is trying to find time to devote to each mod and so far that's proved to be impossible for me. ...For reasons only they understand, the Yankees told Reggie Jackson to stay away from the team for awhile due to the comments he made about Alex Rodriguez in an S.I. article when he said his steroid use clouded his records. The Yankees were upset with Jackson for stating the obvious which is that A-Rod has turned into the most expensive singles hitter in the game and an unproductive one at that. So basically what we have here is Jackson being penalized for telling the truth. ...I felt sorry for that guy down in Tennessee who filled up his gas tank recently and was hit for an $85,000 charge. That's what you get for filling it with Premium. ...Amazing how so many people are complaining that the U.S. Opening Ceremony outfits were made in China but no one complains that the iPods and iPads are made there too.
  5. These guys were popular for awhile and I really don't know what they are up to now but I have always liked Round and Round by Ratt.
  6. Not a bad one. I'm posting one using an orchestra one today too. Glad you are back! This song is Led Zeppelin's Stairway to Heaven but with no vocals. It's a symphonic version of the song and it's about a ten minute song which can be listened to in one of two ways. You can blast it as loud as you want to hear every cymbal and drum beat perfectly or you can play this song as a perfect background piece while you are writing an e-mail or something. I've listened to this both ways and it sounds great either way. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=rkKScW1Rx0s
  7. It worked for me without messing around with the overlay. I was able to play in NYSEG stadium after I turned off the Cooperstown effect. Whatever you say. Just take your time with the patch. When it is out, it's out.
  8. I understand if they are hard coded and a workaround can't be found. Those things happen and that's just the way it is. Maybe with these minor league stadiums that don't work right they should be replaced and the classic stadium should be put back in only because this NYSEG park is unplayable as it is and if it can't be fixed it should be replaced.
  9. You're right. A brown or tan colored glove should be there instead of the red one that is currently assigned to Martin.
  10. Yankee - Red Sox game. Tense moment...and I make a mistake. Or did I? Check it out right here!
  11. Kyleb, I am not harping on anything nor am I posting this stuff just to find fault in this mod. You talked about a patch and I am just bringing up things that can be addressed. I tried to play a game in some of the minor league parks and I ran into some problems. When I picked Waterfront Park everything was fine. I was able to play. Now for the problems. When I picked Legends Field I saw something and then had something happen. When I started the game after picking Legends Field the screen said it was Waterfront Park. And then the game crashed. I tried it again and the same thing happened. It crashed. I tried to play a game in NYSEG Field and I couldn't do it. Something was wrong with it. Here is the screenshot. Also, the catchers glove for the Yankees is the wrong color. Russell Martin has a red glove while the Boston catcher (not pictured) has a black one.
  12. There are uniform tutorials on this website that give you detailed help on how to make a uniform. So there you go.
  13. I spotted the difference. You gotta have those Yankees looking 100% accurate when they are leaving runners on base, right? Thank you Dennis.
  14. Addressing a few more uniform glitches. Check out these two from the Angels set. On the left this isn't the 1971 home uniform. I believe it is the 1939 Hollywood Stars uniform and on the right it should say 1997 road instead of 1957 road.
  15. Hell of an idea!
  16. Hahahahaahahhaha. Here we go!!!
  17. Def Leppard's Bringin' on the Heartbreak has always been one of my favorites. These guys were very good during the early 80's but were hit by some very bad luck. They are still around today but no where near the samee. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=TiR71VvCYks
  18. This isn't a complaint. It's just something I noticed. The White Sox red Sunday uniforms have a slight inaccuracy. There are red helmets and red belts on the real uniforms while these have black. If you check out the photo of Alexei Ramirez and the screenshot in the game you'll see what I mean. Despite this these uniforms in this game look great.
  19. Great job Kyleb and all of you modders who were hard at work on this. Everyone deserves a bit of thanks here. Let's start with daflyboys, who started that thread the day after New Year's that planted the idea for a Mvp 2012. Thank you to kyleb for saying "why not?" and who organized this. And thank you to everyone else who got on board with kyleb and contributed their talents in the making of this great mod. I request that each of you who download and play this mod to take five seconds out of your day to come in this thread and type a thank you to these modders. How about that?
  20. You're going to love it once you get into it. These guys did a super job. You can bet the house on this. Sit back and watch.
  21. That actually wasn't bad.
  22. All I can say is that I am getting an education from you two guys.
  23. 1962 Continued It continues to fall apart in the seventh for Farrell as Pirate pitcher Vern Law gets into the act as he singles off his counterpart driving in the fourth and final run of the inning. Farrell's day is done as Houston goes to their bullpen. After walking the first batter he faced, reliever Russ Kemmerer had the task of facing Roberto Clemente with the bases loaded. Kemmerer must have had an angel on his shoulder because he was able to retire Clemente on a liner back to him to prevent Pittsburgh from blowing the game wide open. Last of the eighth now and Pittsburgh's trying to get another run but this bad bunt by backup catcher Don Leppert was caught by Houston backstop Hal Smith turned the inning around and the Pirates did not score.
  24. 1962 Continued Houston pitcher Turk Farrell lays down a perfect sacrifice bunt in the third inning that advanced shortstop Bob Lillis to second. Lillis scored moments later on a two run home run by Al Spangler to give the Colt 45's a 2 - 0 lead. Smoky Burgess hits an opposite field double off of Farrell here in the bottom of the fifth and came around to score on a wild pitch to cut the lead to 2 - 1. Al Spangler had a good day for Houston as he reached base twice against Pittsburgh. Here he singles and advances to second on an error by Pirate centerfielder Bill Virdon. Spangler was one of the bright spots for the new Houston franchise that year as he hit .285 in 129 games and scored 51 runs with 35 RBI for a team that finished 64 - 96 which was still good enough for eighth place ahead of the Cubs and Mets. Six innings in the books and we have a close one. Here is where it fell apart for Houston pitcher Turk Farrell. He gave up one run on only four hits in the first six innings but leading off the bottom of the seventh he gave up a lead off triple to Bob Skinner and Skinner scored the tying run on Smoky Burgess' double. Farrell only recorded one out in the seventh inning and gave up four hits and four runs and was eventually charged with the loss.
  25. It is always a pleasure to update this thread because it means that another mod has been released here on this website and this time it is Total Classics 1962 by stecropper. You can download the mod right here. For those of you who do not know who stecropper is he is a member of this community who is heavily involved in Total Classics and probably knows as much about making a total conversion mod as Jim825. If you've played any of the season mods from the 1960's you already know how detailed and accurate stecropper is. And this 1962 mod is no different. The decision to go with baseball cards of the 1962 major league players was a nice touch. You can see some of the cards in the loading screens and they are also used as portraits when a player comes up to bat or in to pitch. The installation of this mod was quick and easy. Just install it over a clean copy of Mvp 2005 and you are all set. One thing I did notice when I read the directions is that you can bypass the Rglass profile because as many of you know already if you create a player named Katie Roy and save it you will have everything unlocked under your own profile and you don't have to use Robert Glass's profile. The music once again is essential to these season mods. The proper music that was around during that time is important to set the mood for the game and again the choices put into the 1962 jukebox fit right in and sound wonderful. According to stecropper he stated that this mod was the first mod made that was synched with the statistics from the 1962 Strat-O-Matic baseball game. What I think he means is that they took the stats from the players in that game and put them in this mod. Hopefully if he comes in here and reads this he can confirm this or not. The only other thing I can say about this mod is that you should download it and install it because there is a lot to love in this game. Have fun with the mod and also don't forget to thank the modders for their work and Trues, the owner of this website for hosting these exciting mods. Video: Pittsburgh's Roy Face retires the final two Colt 45's in the 9th to save the game. Screenshots This staged photo depicting four members of the brand new New York Mets of the National League shows the only time all year that the Mets had anything to jump up and cheer about as they went 40 - 120 in their inaugural season and finished an amazing 60 1/2 games behind the pennant winning Giants. Welcome to Total Classics 1962! This classic overlay included here is in other season mods because of the beauty and detail of it. It tells you anything you need to know at a glance without cluttering up the screen and is a welcome addition to the 1962 season. At bat for the Colt 45's is Bob Aspromonte. A trivia question you can spring on someone is to ask them to name the last player in the major leagues to have played for the Brooklyn Dodgers and the answer would be this man here, who retired in 1971. Hal Smith could not check his swing and was one of Vern Law's five strikeouts on the day.
