Updated to 8-10 ...I went to my first baseball game of the year last night and it turned out to be the wrong night to go. It rained during the game and it got kind of cool after it finished raining. I saw the AAA team of the Pittsburgh Pirates, the Indianapolis Indians play. ...We were almost late for the game because on the way to the game I missed the exit for the ballpark because that was the same time the Yankees were once again giving the game away to the Angels in the bottom of the eighth. ...The San Diego Chicken was at the ballpark last night. Amazing to me that this guy has been doing this since the late 70's. ...Scranton's coming to town in a few weeks. I might try to catch them before the season is done. I figure I may as well see one successful Yankee team this year. ...I know that by just looking at the standings that the Yankees still have a chance to win their division or the wildcard. But my gut feeling just tells me otherwise. ...It just seems to me that when the Yankees play the Angels they are just waiting to lose. You would think it would get these guys mad because of the way they are manhandled by that overrated team, but nothing is ever said. ...My God, I thought I hated Kevin Youkilis, but this guy right here has taken it to a higher level than even I could have. The funniest line for me was his comment about watching Youkilis play, "this guy must smell like an unwashed trucker after a 3 day cross-country trip." Read on, it's a funny piece. Youkilis supporters, you have been warned. And don't give me any flack about this. I didn't write it. Although I agree with it. ...Manny Ramirez is treating National League pitchers as if they are little league pitchers since the trade last week and the Dodgers have already sold over $125,000 worth of Manny jerseys since he's been on the team. I'm quite sure not one penny of that is from the New England area. ...I love the USA Network. The four shows I watch all the time are on it. Monk, Psych, In Plain Sight and Burn Notice. Give that Burn Notice show a chance. It will reel you in. ...I haven't watched the Olympics yet and probably won't. ...R.I.P. Bernie Mac. I was sorry to read about this yesterday when I logged on here. ...I have no interest at all in how Brett Farve is going to do with the Jets this year because I have enough problems hoping that the Raiders win a few games.

It seemed like there were always rumblings about him being traded but it never happened. ...Manny's antics were not funny to me. I don't like the way he plays the game. But when he slapped Kevin Youkilis in the head earlier this season, even I had to laugh. ...Yours truly here hardly ever has anything nice to say about the Red Sox team and organization, but I have to make a huge exception in this case. Ramirez quit on the team and the Red Sox refused to play his games anymore. Good for them. ...Any week that Kyle Farnsworth is traded off of your favorite team automatically has to be a very good week. ...Now watch him be lights out for Detroit. ...And if you think I am sold that the Yankees are going to make the playoffs, think again. People look at me like I am nuts when I say this is a bad hitting team, but I believe it. They get shut down too easy too many times for my liking. ...Mvp 08 gets released this week and it becomes a huge hit right away. It does not surprise me at all. They did a great job. ...Before this mod was released there was a lot of complaining about it. People wanted it right away. But now that it is out, I don't see a lot of the complainers taking five seconds out of their day just to thank the modders for what they did. And that just isn't right. ...99.9% of the people that are on this site and on Eamods are pretty decent people who just want to grab their mods, talk some baseball and have a good time. Most of us are members of both websites. But it takes idiots like the couple we had in here creating multiple accounts and causing trouble to make one or the other site look bad. There's no room for people like that on either site. ...Funny story about seeing a rabbit the other day. If any of you have ever had the chance to see a rabbit, when they see you, they take off and hop away. Well, not this little guy when he saw me coming. I could almost read his mind. When he saw me approaching him and the way I was walking, he just sat there and it was like he was thinking "I got nothing to worry about with this guy, he'll never get near me." ...I wish I could be offered 2 million a year by someone to not come to work like Brett Farve. Of course, I'd say. Where do I sign?

You know, I kind of glance over everyone's dynasties but I never saw this one. This looks great. Have fun man!

Mark, it's not that far of a drive. But the trouble is the timing of it. I get out of work at 4:30 (if I finish on time) and by the time I get home and shower up, it will be past 5 pm. By the time the wife gets home, it will be close to 6 pm. And there is always a long line for popular players like this. Hell, the line for Jim Kaat was unbearable. Gates open at 6 and they only sign for an hour or so. I'd have to be there around five just to stand in line.

Phil Hughes and Chien Ming Wang will be back, Ian Kennedy has been doing well down in AAA, Brian Bruney will be coming back soon and Carl Pavano is on his way back. ...With the acquisition of Nady, does this mean Bobby Abreu's days are numbered? ...I have no doubt that if Joba Chamberlain ever has to give Kevin Youkilis an intentional walk that Youkilis would cry and moan that Chamberlain was throwing at him in that situation also. Youkilis is nothing but a complainer, from sunup to sundown. ...I sure miss having Fuzzone around here, among many others over the years. ...I work near an apartment complex and this week the landscaping people put down mulch there. The odd part about it was that it had a terrible smell to it, kind of like a vinegar smell. Imagine smelling that on a hot summer day when there's no way you can escape from it. And I have no idea why it smelled like that. I've seen mulch put down in many places and it never had an odor. Until now. ...There's nothing like being caught in the rain during a summer shower, provided of course you are near your home so you can go change as soon as it's done. ...NFL training camps opened this week and the Buffalo Bills once again are training at St. John Fisher college, a school not that far from where I live. Yeah, he's done very well in the past two games. That means we should just forget how he mailed it in and quit on the team in April, May, June and half of July.

Updated to 7-13 ...Late today with this. I was out of town over the weekend because I was at my wife's hometown in Binghamton, New York. More on that as I go on. For anyone living there or living near there, I really and truly feel sorry for you. It is the worst place I've ever been to in my life. ...We went to a flea market today down in nearby Conklin, New York and as I looked around at those people there buying other people's garbage, one thing occurred to me over and over again and it was that all those people looked alike. Lot of sisters and brothers marrying each other I'd say. And I saw more ugly women with tattoos there then I care to see ever again. ...Random stuff for sale today that I saw: a broken hockey stick. A rusted and bent computer case. Scratched DVD's. Two rabbits. "One male and one female...at least I think they are," said the guy selling them. And other useful things that you need everyday, like 8 track tapes. ...All I spent was fifty cents. That was the price we had to pay to park. "Got a lot of good stuff today!," said the guy I gave the money to. When we were leaving I saw that same guy and I asked him what row was "all the good stuff" in? He just laughed. ...Gas was $4.09 there. Cheapest I saw was $4.05. I mentioned that in passing to my mother in law and some guy overheard me telling her that and I had to give him directions to where that Exxon station was. ...I did not hear about Bobby Murcer until this morning because for some reason they did not put it on the news down there. Maybe they figured it would cut in with the Nascar report. ...And before I go any further, R.I.P. Mr. Murcer. This award is given to the player who takes up the most time and space on a roster while contributing nothing. ...Speaking of the devil, the Cubs really should be going on a nice little run now that Soriano's sidelined for six weeks. ...It was nice to see Hideki Matsui rise to the occasion by hitting a grand slam on his birthday against the Athletics in Oakland the other night. That must have been pretty special for him. Just for laughs, I looked up Robinson Cano's birthday. It's October 22nd. So that means that the Yankees have to get deep into the post season this year just to see if this guy can copy what Matsui did. Cano can't get a hit in June. Updated to 6-8 ...Well, that was a fast week. The wife comes home tonight (around 10:30 pm) and I got to go to the airport to pick her up. ...I didn't wash a dish all week. I had plastic knives, forks and spoons. I microwaved everything. The only time I used the sink was to get cold water for the dogs. I knew what I was doing. ...I've also made sure the house is very clean, but I left a few things around here and there to give her a reason to come home and point her finger and say "why didn't you do this?" By doing these intentional things, it gives them a sense of purpose when they arrive home and a feeling that "you just can't get along without them, even for a week." Even though this is the furthest from the truth, this needs to be done. This advice is given by me to everyone here. It is foolproof and failsafe. ...I think those "Real Men of Genius" beer commercials are funny. ...Horse racing to me is as exciting as Nascar or the NBA. ...Total Classics 9 has just been released this week. This team can't put a winning streak together to save their lives. They haven't had one this year. Winning streaks are what other teams have, not this current Yankee team. One day the pitching is great and the hitting takes a day off. The next day, the reverse happens. All this adds up is a fourth place team at best.

Updated to 6-1 ...I'm home alone this week while my wife is in Plano, Texas with her family visiting her sister who lives there. I didn't go for one very good reason. These trips out there consist of nothing but shopping and more shopping. I've been there twice with them in the past and that's more than enough for me. ...I was there in 2000 and again in 2005. I never saw three women get in as much shopping in one day as those three did. I had to go a few times "just to get out of the house and see the sights" but when I did, I just saw the sites of a mall. Thank you, not again. ...Finally, a big assist goes to my four little people, my dogs. Someone's got to stay home all alone and have fun and take care of them, wouldn't you agree? So, it's got to be me. I'll stay home, by myself to watch over them. With all the reports I have been reading, he's been throwing well and been having no pain. What a nice name for a book title, don't you all think? ...To this day, I can't watch a Chico and the Man episode on TV without feeling a little bit sad. ...There's obviously some people in this country that have too much time on their hand if they have enough time to complain about the scarf that TV star Rachel Ray was wearing for a Dunkin Donuts commercial. Seems as if they didn't like black and white paisley scarf she had on. Sorry to say, but the same people who have too much time on their hands seem to have a lot of clout also, because they got the ad pulled. That's the big problem with this country. People like this who have nothing to do but complain about a scarf, have the influence to have the ad they don't like pulled off the air. Here's a photo of that ad:
