Eskie01's 1983 Portraits-Part 1
Here is my 1983 Portraits Pack-Part 1. I know that there's no 1983 TC yet, but I just wanted to share the portraits that I've done specifically and authentically for my own 1983 MVP Season. It's far from done but I've done a few uniforms and portraits through the past few years so I thought that I'd at least share these. They might work ok in either a 1982 or 1984 or any misc. ones in between, but I just thought that I'd just throw them out for anybody that might want some. As far as installation goes, just follow my previous instructions in the 1974 Parts 1 & 2, and you'll do ok. Again if there's any questions or problems just let me know.
Take care and enjoy!

Eskie01's 1974 Portraits-Part 2
Here finally is my 1974 Portraits-Part 2. Just as with Part 1, I install the individual portraits in and through my MVP Editor that you can download from here, by first, opening up the editor and go to the team and player that you want to add the portrait. Click on the portrait area where the red arrow is. If there's another portrait already click the delete button after first clicking on the portrait area. Wait until it says on the area in red, "No Portrait Found" and click on it again. Click on "New Picture" and go to where you have your portraits and click on a particular one and then click open and then click "OK" and "she's" in.
The portraits illustrated aren't ALL the portraits included just a sample. If anybody has a question, just check with me and I'll help you.
Enjoy the portraits and Have a joyous Christmas and a wonderful New Year.

1971-72 Yankees Flannel Uniforms
Here is my 1971-72 Yankees Flannel Uniforms. The original home jersey was made by Wilson during 1971-72 which had thinner block numbers than the 1970 Spalding ones. The road jersey was made by Spalding which used block numbers as Bobby Murcer's show. It also had a more slight bluish-gray hue than the 1970 uniform (Wilson) as per Steve Kline's photo (shorter hair) which also used what I call the Yankees Varsity Variant font as pictured above. The 1970 Yankees also had about the same brownish-gray color hue as the 1960's Tigers. The 1971 Thurman Munson jersey (above) had transparent plastic buttons and tried (?) to portray that in mine. I'm just NOT really educated in Paint Shop Pro or Photoshop to do the best with that but I tried to get the same look.
To install, just copy a zip file into the MVP Baseball 2005 home folder and use Total Installer Thingy to put it into the game. If you have any questions, let me know! The zip files will be placed into "a & b" uniform slots.
Enjoy!

1970-71 Detroit Tigers Uniforms
Here is the 1971 Detroit Tigers Uniforms. Again, I got the emblems and original buttons from original uniforms even down to the batting helmet. I even try to get the shade of the uniform templates to match the original photos, of course making sure that there's no red or blue tinge to the photo itself because that would of course throw off the hue of the uniform. I'll get a pack of the 1968-69 Tigers up but the road uniform had a little more brown tinge in the flannel. In 1970, the Tigers got names on their jerseys so with that being said, maybe the flannel had a different gray tinge than the one before.
To install, just copy the zip file into the MVP home folder and use Total Installer Thingy to put it into the game.
If you have any questions, just let me know!

1971 A's Uniforms
Here are my 1971 A's Uniforms...the home, road, alternate, and the home with the "Reggie Jackson 71 All-Star HR helmet", gold over green. BTW, I have to redo the in-game pics for gold over green helmets...I just can't find the in-game pics that I took when I tried it out. When I get 1 or 2, I'll add them to the list. I included photos of the jersey buttons to give an example of what I've been doing when I mentioned that I'm using original buttons. I've gotten most of those from auctions. When I get an original helmet emblem, I'll make up the sets and re-upload them. Most of the original shots were from the 1971 ALCS.
To install them, copy the zips to your home mvp game folder and use Total Installer Thingy to install them into your game.
Enjoy...and again, if anybody has a question, let me know...I WILL answer them for you!

1971 Baltimore Orioles Uniform Sets
Here's my updated Baltimore Orioles uniform sets. They are basically the same as the previous ones up here plus I wanted Jim to take off the individual ones so I can put the 2 polyester 1971 uniforms together plus the all-orange uniform. I did recolor the uniform template to a more authentic look for the postseason road set plus I re-aligned the buttons to look as the originals did on the players. I also redid the catchers' gear to match the photo of Brooks Robinson, Elrod Hendricks & Mark Belanger congratulating the relief pitcher Dick Hall for his save in Game 2 of the 1971 World Series as you see pictured in the screen shots. I watched my highlight dvd of the 71 Series and Etchebarren in Game 4 of the series wore the exact thing as Hendricks did in that game 2 photo.
To install copy the uniform(s) zips into the home MVP2005 folder and use Total Installer Thingy to install them into the game. Remember to back up your original ones just in case.
If you have any questions let me know and enjoy the new sets!

1989 Orioles Uniform Sets
Here is my 1989 Orioles Uniform set. Back some time ago, MVP91 sent me a compliment on my 1970s Orioles uniform sets and asked me to do him up a 1989 version...well here it is with some of the different research that I used. Of course as I did the other uniform sets, I used original buttons and uniform emblems (jersey, cap, & helmet). I also included my new catchers' equipment detail that I was trying to do and shared about in the MVP Forums. I also gave the batting gloves a little more vibrancy. I LOVE Spungo's gloves and his batting gloves, wristbands, etc., Pack. That's why I went to using my 1983 season to do the print-screens instead of the 1971 that I started using because in 71 there were quite a few players that didn't use batting gloves. I wanted to have them on too.
To install just place the individual uniform zip (home, road, and/or alternate) into your home MVP folder and use Total Installer Thingy to install it into your game. It is well advised that you first backup your original game before so if you don't like them or something happens you can still have your original to replace the updated one.
I hope MVP91 sees this post and I hope that others will like it too! Enjoy!

1972 Baltimore Orioles Uniform Sets
Here are my 1972 Baltimore Orioles Uniform Sets. They are quite similar to the 1971 polyester Home and the road uniform that the team wore during the 1971 ALCS & 1971 World Series as well as the all-orange uniform manufactured by the Powers Manufacturing Company. However, the 1972 road uniform is a little different shade of gray as well as the orange & black stripes on the sleeves are reversed compared to the 1971 Postseason's.
As far as the game version goes, compared to the 1971s that I uploaded, I...
1. Resized the bird emblem on the cap to compare more to the original proportion. I attached the original cap with the other photos.
2. As with the new 1971 A's uniforms that I just uploaded, I created more realistic catchers' gear that was close to what Elrod Hendricks & Andy Etchebarren wore during the 1971 World Series that I saw on our 71 WS Highlight Video. I attached a photo from each Game 1 & Game 6 of the 71 Series of Hendricks.
I will be updating my 1971 Orioles sets in the near future.
You can install these the same as any other uniform set. Just copy the zip files into whatever main MVP 2005 folder that you want and use the Total Installer Thingy tool to install each zip into the game.
As always, if you have any questions just send me a message and I'll try to help you.
Enjoy the sets!

1983 Baltimore Orioles Uniform Set
Here is my 1983 Orioles Uniform Set. The screen shot of the home uniform is actually my 1978 home set which everything is the same except for the bird emblem on the cap...it'll be like the 1983 road one. Both uniforms were original done by Rawlings with both jersey fonts being standard block. I also used the original buttons from the Singleton jersey on my repros...with the button holes all vertical except for the top one. I tried my best to get the "jersey material" the same gray color as the originals shown so they would look the same as the original in-game photos in MVP05 itself.
To install, just copy the 2 zip files to your main MVP folder and use the Total Installer Thingy tool to install them into the game...remember to back up your current ones before stalling in case you don't like these.
Next on my agenda, are...redoing my 1972 road uniform set and tackling a request for the 1989 Orioles uniform set. HOPEFULLY after that, I can get away from the Orioles and do another 1970-71 team uniform. After I do a few different teams, I want to add a 1984 left sleeve to my 1983 Orioles uniform set.
If you have any questions please ask and thanks!

1977-78 Baltimore Orioles Uniform Pack
Here's my 1977-78 Baltimore Orioles uniform pack. It's the exact same as the 1975-79 (1973-74 didn't have the orange uniform and they didn't have the white front panel cap) uniforms themselves except for the bird emblem on the cap.
To install, just unzip the uniform pack on your desktop and then copy any of the home, road, or orange alternate uniform zip files to the main MVP Baseball folder that you want and then use Total Install Thingy to install each zip file individually (home, road, or alternate) into your MVP Baseball Season. If you have any questions just send me a note and I'll try to answer your questions.
Enjoy!

1974 Player Portraits-Part 1
Here are some 1974 player portraits. Some could be better so if I can either improve upon the current one or find a better photo of the same player, I'll add it to Part 2 of the 1974 Portraits when I get those organized.
The way that I install them is to go into the MVP editor and make sure that the season file in the editor is pointing to the data folder in the 1974 game folder or wherever any individual wants to use them in the options of the Tools heading in the editor itself. Go to the appropriate player's line and click on the square box under that player and click on add picture and find where you put Dick Green for example and select his portrait. Then click open at the bottom of the screen and then you'll see the editor again with the new photo in the left square and then click ok. The new portrait should appear now in its player's square. If there's a portrait already there, use the delete function to the right of where you see add a new picture. If you have any questions, send me a note and I'll help you with this.
Enjoy the portraits...I'll be adding part 2 of these in the near future.

PS: These samples that you see are just a tip of the iceberg...there's many more in the actual zip file.

1971-72 St. Louis Cardinals Uniforms
Here are my 1971-72 St. Louis Cardinals uniforms. Once again I got the cap, helmet, & jersey emblems and logos from auction sites. In original photographs, it was very hard to tell them apart...they were so close in color. It was kinda tough to get a road template that wasn't too dark but didn't look identical in the game.
To install, copy a zip file into the MVP Baseball 2005 home folder and use Total Installer Thingy to install into the game. They are in the "a & b Cardinals uniform slots".
Enjoy and if you have any questions, let me know!

1973-74 Baltimore Orioles
Here are my 1973-74 Orioles Uniforms. The majority of the uniform is the same as the 1975-81's except it has the 1971 cap & helmet. The home was made by Rawlings and the road by Wilson. BTW, I AM doing other uniform sets other than Orioles & A's, I thought I had the 71-72 Cardinals done but while getting some other in-game pics together I noticed that the helmet color was a little too light so I'll have to fix it. I'm almost done with the 1970-71 Reds too. I plan on redoing the Senators and Red Sox after those fixes.
To install, just copy a zip file into the home folder of MVP Baseball 2005, and then use Total Installer Thingy to install it into the game. They are placed in the "a & b slots".
If you have any questions let me know!

1979-81 Orioles Uniforms
Here is my 1979-81 Baltimore Orioles Uniform Set. For 1982-88 they had a different maker for the road uniform which included a different number font and a little different gray hue to the actual uniform cloth. From 1977-78 had a different cartoon bird. The home uniform was of course done by Rawlings with the regular block numbers and both the road and alternate jersey was done by Wilson with the Wilson Varsity number font. I just put in the 75's in-game pics because everything was the same except the cartoon bird.
To install, just copy a zip file into the MVP Baseball 2005 home folder and use Total Installer Thingy to install into the game. They go into the "a, b, & c" Orioles uniform slots.

1970 Oakland A's Uniforms
Here's the 1970 Oakland A's uniforms. They're basically the same as the 1971 except for the cap & helmet...that's why I only have one uniform in an in-game photo...I wanted to key on the hats. I tried to go into auctions and the like to find the hat emblems...again, as I mentioned in the 71 A's description, as soon as I find an original helmet emblem that will work correctly I'll upload an update.
To install, just copy a zip file to the MVP Baseball 2005 home folder and use Total Installer Thingy to install it into the game. I place these and the 71 A's into the "i, j, & m slots".
If anybody has a question, let me know!

1970-71 Orioles Flannel Uniforms
Here is my 1970-71 Baltimore Orioles Flannel Uniforms. I got my uniform emblems and logos from auction sites from original garments. Besides 1970, the Orioles alternated the home flannel uniform with their newly received polyester one until the All-Star break, which from then on they wore their polyester home. The road flannel lasted a little longer...they wore it until the 1971 postseason when they got a new polyester one. It lasted for 4 games...1 in Oakland in the ALCS and the 3 games in Pittsburgh in the 1971 Fall Classic. They then got ANOTHER one before the 1972 season! I was talking to a guy and he said that their uniform designer must've been as fickle as some women...LOL. The home one was made by Wilson and the road by Spalding, hence the different number font. The front emblem of the home was slightly different from its polyester which was manufactured by Rawlings.
To install just copy a zip file to the MVP Baseball 2005 home folder and use Total Installer Thingy to install into the game. By the way, in a 1970 league they'd be in the "a & b" Orioles uniform placements. In my 1971, they'd be "c & g".
Enjoy and if you have any questions please let me know!

1975 Orioles Uniforms
Here is my 1975 Orioles Uniforms...home, road, & alternate. As I did for the 1971 Orioles alternate uniform, I went to auction sites and Google images for jersey and cap emblems and original buttons. Eventually I will be doing a 1976 set which I'll put the bird emblem on the home/road cap that's currently on the 1975 orange panel and vice-versa. The caps were done by different makers and just like the makers of the jerseys (esp. number fonts), they have their different "quirks". Again, Bruce Genther gave me his approval. I enjoy talking to him through email and talking about different tidbits on Orioles uniforms, etc. Again, Bruce is from Laurel, MD.
To install, just place the zip file(s) into the MVP home folder and use Total Installer Thingy to install.
Enjoy & if any questions let me know!

1979-86 NBC/WGAL-TV 8 Overlays
Here is the 1979-86 NBC Overlays. All you need to do is copy the igonly.big file into your data/frontend folder, but make sure you backup your current file first.
I don't have the nice original backup proof that I had for the 1971 overlay, but I did do the research in the NBC site and a few others, to mention that this version can be used from 1979 to 1986 give or take. If I can find anything like the 83 ALCS or any other games for sure in that time frame that sports the NBC logo, I'll fit them in for a screen shot.
Thanks,

1983 Greg Luzinski
Here is a cyberface of 1983 Greg Luzinski of the 1983 Chicago White Sox.
To install: Go into the models.big file of the season that you want to install the player face using the bigGUI tool to look for an unused number to use for the particular player and change all 3 of the player's files to the id number of the unused face number in your particular season of play. Copy all 3 of the files to the "home" folder of your MVP 2005 season and then use a zip program to zip all 3 files together and re-name it to the id number (ex., c398). Use Total installer thingy to install the face into the game. Go into the editor and change the face number to that particular number that just went into the models.big file.
If you have any questions, shoot me a note and I'll answer them for you.
Eskie01
PS: I forgot to write down where I got it and with the results of my brain tumor, I forgot where I got it, but as Homer reminded below it came from his "HomerClassics". Sorry about that Homer.

Early 70's Facepack
Here are 3 early-70's faces...Pat Kelly, John Lowenstein & Bake McBride.
If it's the Lowenstein face, don't forget to change the "04 Face" selection under appearance to "yes" for your player.
If you have any questions, shoot me a note and I'll answer them for you.

PS: I believe the original faces came with the default game...other than that, I don't know where they came from to give credit.

Late 60's-1971 NBC/local network Overlays
Here is the Late 60's-Early 70's NBC Overlay with the local network logo WGAL TV from Lancaster/Lebanon, PA. My Dad & I watched the Game of the Week, Sunday afternoon Phillies games and eventually Monday Night Baseball which went 1972-75 according to the documentation that I found on the internet. The original baseball pics are from the 1st night World Series game, game 4 of the 1971 World Series, and the 1971 All Star Game as well.
To install...just copy the igonly.big file into your frontend folder but before you do, make sure you backup first in case you don't like it. If you have any question, just shoot me a note!

1971 Oakland Coliseum
Here is an edited version of Dennis James's 1970's Oakland Coliseum. Here is a quote from a message that he sent me when I asked if I could edit his Memorial and Oakland Stadiums, "That's no problem at all. Any work I've ever posted here on MVPMods has always been free for anyone to modify or improve upon. Anything I've ever created here has been to share with the community and for everyone to enjoy.
Best of luck to you,
DENNIS"
All you need to do is to copy the 2 stadium files into the stadiums folder in your MVP game folder, but I'd backup the other 2 in case you don't like these. I took lineups and scores from a particular day of games and applied them to either the daytime or the nighttime applications. The one with Don Mincher as 1Bman is from the early 1971 season before the trade with the Senators and the other has Epstein which is after the trade.
If there are any questions, drop me a note.
Enjoy!
Eskie01
PS: The original pic is from the introduction of the A's players before a 1972 ALCS game with the Tigers but I have also original color photos of A's and the opposition that shows the scoreboards in the background and they have the identical ARCO signs at the ends.
In addition...I added several pics of players from 1971 to show that the scoreboard was consistent with the 1972 ALCS photo here. Jim "Mudcat" Grant only wore this version of the A's uni after coming over from the Pirates in the mid-season 1971, next...Luis Alvarado of the Chisox, you can see the A's wearing the sleeveless jerseys in the background and if you look closely at the White Sox uni you can tell it's flannel by the texture; next Hegan came over from the Brewers for cash and he wouldn't have wore this one in 1972; lastly Ron Klimkowski came over from the Yankees and went back to the Yankees for 1972.

1970-72 Baltimore's Memorial Stadium
Here is an edited version of Dennis James's 1970's Memorial Stadium. His original 1970's Memorial Stadium is almost exactly like the 1979 rendition of the original stadium that I noticed on my vcr recordings of the 1979 ALCS with the Angels and my 1979 WS highlights video.
Best of luck to you,
DENNIS"
The actual Memorial Stadium's scoreboard flipped every so often from these 2 and one that was an ad for the News-American, a newspaper that heavily carried the Orioles. These 2 I think were the most colorful.
All you need to do is to copy the 2 stadium files into the stadiums folder in your MVP game folder, but I'd backup the other 2 in case you don't like these.
If there are any questions, drop me a note.
Enjoy!
