Aug. 4: RHP Luke Bard claimed off waivers from Rays and assigned to Triple-A Scranton/Wilkes-Barre Bard, 31, went 1-1 with a 1.93 ERA in eight relief appearances for the Rays this season. The right-handed pitcher also made 19 appearances (one start) for Triple-A Durham this season, posting a 4.88 ERA without recording a decision. He was designated for assignment on Aug. 1. all I know of this guy is his brother is Dan of the Rockies.

@Yankee4Life the Yankees go to St. Louis, visiting a hot team over the weekend. If they win one game I will be shocked. I’m already putting my Yankee hat in storage since it’s not needed until the phony optimism of spring training next March. ....and they face Hudson tonight and Wainwright Sunday besides Monty tomorrow. Cards take these games 1 and 3. and see what Verlander is doing this year? where is the Yankees stud? oh, I forgot, they don't have one.

@Jim825 yes, a few times recently as this past Tuesday. Stadium doesn't fill, but good college baseball play. Using the entrance on McKeown st next to softball field to the garage (free parking) is easier to enter and exit especially if parking on top. Haven't been to Polar Park as I hate Kelly Square even though I can get to the park via different routes.

'patience is a virtue' but not with this team for me. Seems they had their roll in June and now they have been back to reality - a team they are. Maybe the media shouldn't have posted comparing to the 98 team or 2001 Mariners because I didn't think that they were so. It's me, I guess.

@Jim825 when is this multi-million $$$$ pitcher Cole going to start pitching like he has been paid?? He's terrible for the money. You have to admit it. Same with this Taillion. Terrible, terrible, terrible.

As usual, I turned off the game. Better things to do on this beautiful, hot, afternoon than to watch this creampuff of a pitcher. Also due to Castillo above Cole today.

following in the footsteps of Taillion.. and the Yankees paid Millions for this SO-CALLED ACE. big joke... 6 to zero game is over. no big comeback. castillo is on the mound for Seattle. first a July swoon, and now an august swoon? 3 straight bomb of a game by Cole and 4 of of last 6 games. and this is an ACE??? and now IKF took Yankees out of an inning with his base running and 2 outs. probably 3rd base coach stupid decision.

@Jim825 well, all there is are negatives for this team. Had their month of great baseball in June and now they are back to earth. So much hype given this team to match 1998 team or 2001 Mariners, where is that now - now it will be of the 1978 team blowing 14 game lead.

Headtrip47 - I have installed your roster and portraits (awesome) and I have downloaded reditorii and installed it, but the Cyberfaces do not match. to change the CF ids from KC's master roster to your roster, do you have a list of your roster CF changes to edit and match?

@Jim825 my point was that when a team gives a pitcher a good lead, he should pitch to hold that lead and not give up any runs. Back in my high school days, we had a kangaroo court for many blunders and this was included. Mike King out for season with fractured elbow. What's next??
