  1. Josh Donaldson Takes A Hit Away From Vernon Wells In Wednesday Night's Game
  2. A little skinny for my taste, but gorgeous nonetheless.
  3. SMITH BREAKS TIE WITH PINCH HIT HR IN 8TH, A'S WIN 4-1
  4. Sure did. Anderson only gave up 2 earned runs, the other two came off of errors by Lowrie and Anderson himself. But yeah, I think Jeter started 3 or 4 double plays. Pettitte had some good stuff, could hardly hit him.
  5. Had to change that template real quick. Went down to start the game and noticed both pitchers were hot as well. Should be a good one.
  6. Going 0-4 doesn't qualify getting your name spelled right on the post game recap. At least not for the opposing team.
  7. Thanks, guys, appreciate the good words. That said, if any of you have followed a season of mine, you know it's more about the game than the graphics. I've not been in Photoshop lately as much as I should have, so I wanted to try and polish my skills best I could, and through what avenue other than baseball could possibly be better? Anyway, it's a tight season thus far in the A.L. West. With the good fortune of a 6 game winning streak, I've managed to sneak up within a game of the Angels, but can't seem to get any luck with Texas losing. Playing with the real life rosters (I also control the rosters for all 30 teams) and optimizing lineups throughout the league, Texas is as tough as their real life counterpart. Houston is dancing around .500, surprisingly, and Seattle is down in the cellar at 26-37 @ 11.5 games back. Losing John Jaso to the 60 Day DL (25 days left) has put somewhat of a thorn at the catcher's position. I was forced to bring up left handed hitting Stephen Vogt to fill the void and platoon with the right handed hitting Derrick Norris. As you can see from the stats on the Catcher's Card, neither one are producing much to this point. Jaso was hitting extremely well but went down in late April. With Nakajima going down and Jemile Weeks struggling, I decided to bring up Eric Sogard (8 games), and he has absolutely been tearing it up. Definitely the biggest surprise early in the season. If he continues to play like he is, and barring injury, he'll be a staple at second base (Lowrie at SS) for the rest of the season. Moving on, I'm about to open up a 3 game set against the 33-31 (2.5 GB) Yankees at home, who in the game have all their healthy (and steroid free) counterparts. I'll post lineup cards in a while, and post the recap later tonight after the game. Should be a great series.

  9. Thank you sir! Hit me up for a co op game sometime, hope work and the heat isn't killing you by now.
  10. I'm having so much fun with The Show '13 this year, playing with up to date rosters (transactions updated daily), along with manually playing each game along with the real life schedule, that I've decided to go ahead and post my season from here on out. I just finished the series against the White Sox (June 9th), so I'll go ahead and post the recap today. Games will be updated daily, and the graphics work will be an ongoing part of the presentation as I move along into the year. This will be the first season I've posted since 2009, so I'm trying to up the bar on graphics, presentation, and an overall simulation experience to engross the reader or anyone who wants to follow. As always, I'm sure the presentation will evolve as the season moves along. As of now, I'm at 3rd place (3 GB) in the A.L. West behind The Los Angeles Angels (2 GB) and the 1st place Texas Rangers. I will present rosters, lineups, pitching rotation and relievers, along with updated stats and standings in the coming week. Enjoy and feel free to post at anytime.
  11. Was curious if anyone makes these for themselves. Mine mostly consist of Hoosier Basketball simply because I run a site where a lot of people have asked for them. An iPad Wallpaper However, I've dabbled a bit with some baseball cover photos but I plan on making a few in the near future. Here is one I decided to use -- this pic was taken straight from the TV with standard settings: This is one I am using now, with the TV set to Vivid > Color (Cool) > Sports (Football) This all being said, I do plan on creating baseball cover photos in the same format as the basketball photos -- at least something of my own.
  12. Downloaded some Classic Rosters this morning just see what's out there. Wow, amazing. Historic All Time Rosters Bob Gibson On The Mound At Sportsman Park Lou Brock Laying Down A Bunt 1984 Rosters Ryne Sandberg vs San Diego Padres 1971-1975 Dynasty Teams Reggie Jackson vs Cincinnati Reds
  13. As much as I loved MVP and the High Heat series, I didn't really realize how all the little details could make for a much more realistic baseball experience. Sony (along with a very diverse and excellent slider system) has been listening to the hardcore baseball gamers and improving this already great game into something better each year. To me, it all starts with game play. The slider system gives you realistic game play if you take the time to tweak them to your playing style. The realistic animations, such as player momentum in the infield and outfield, taking angles to the ball, rounding the bags, etc., introduces a timing factor that brings a whole new element to baseball gaming. The ball physics get better and better each year, and I could go on. All that being said, when about the only thing left on a wish list is to be able to sit in the stadium as a fan (True's idea) and watch your friends play, heckle them, hold up signs, etc., you know the game has gone in the right direction. I would have added the "streak across the field" option, but I'd hate to bother Sony with having to slap a rating system on a family oriented game.
  14. Mike, you and I were talking about ball physics the other night. Here is an excellent example of both the ball physics and realistic animations that set The Show apart from any other baseball game on the planet. In the first video against Texas, I was down one run (one out) late in the game with Chris Young at third base. The ball was lofted somewhat in no man's land between second base and shallow center field. Realizing at that split second that Kinsler was more than likely going to make the play, and knowing Young has decent speed, I retreated back to third base to tag up. My point is, here is where the realistic elements kick in: Down one run late in the game Chris Young has decent speed at third base The ball is blooped to shallow right center field, where if Kinsler does make the catch, he is running away from the play With The Show's extremely realistic animations (allowing timing to be a factor), I realized I may have a chance to score because I knew Kinsler's momentum running away from the play would give me a slight edge Knowing the situation, I had to be aggressive on the base paths, as I was running out of innings Second example (vs Seattle): I had a runner on third, ball was scorched to the right side of the infield In a split second (again) I immediately thought it was down the line for extra bases, so I took off for home plate Completely different ball physics obviously, this one was a laser (the diversity in ball physics is phenomenal in this game) As you can see, I was gunned down getting back to the bag on a great snag
  15. Me and Mike played an absolute fantastic game of co op online the other night. When you find someone that plays the game the way you do, it just doesn't get any better.
  16. Same here. The only time I ever saw rain was in Seattle, and very, very rare.
  17. Yeah, once I got the controls down, the game is still as awesome as ever. I use the exact same controls as last year, but I couldn't figure out how to lead off or steal! I was HOLDING the left shoulder button instead of tapping it. Thought it was going to cost me the game before I got it figured out. :)
