Was wondering if some members here would be interested in participating in a weekly, game by game NFL prediction thread. Since we're obviously on a baseball site, there may or may not be a substantial amount of members interested, but being a member here for quite a few years, I know there are some that do follow the NFL season. Anyway, it's just for fun (unless Trues decides otherwise) and the rules are quite simple: 1. I (JoeRudi26) will post the schedule at the beginning of the week 2. Your entry (predictions) must be before the start of the earliest game in the respective week 3. You must underline and bold your predicted winners without predicting the score 4. In the event of a tie, the Monday Night Game(s) will be the deciding factor 5. Most total wins at the end of the season will decide the overall winner Monday Night Game(s) a. underline your predicted winner b. predict your score (for example: Dolphins 27, Bills 10) c. the total of the score for both teams will be added together, in this case the total would be 37 d. the participant closest to the total score will win the tiebreaker -------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Here is the schedule for Week 1: THU, SEP 9 Minnesota at New Orleans SUN, SEP 12 Carolina at NY Giants Atlanta at Pittsburgh Cleveland at Tampa Bay Denver at Jacksonville Indianapolis at Houston Miami at Buffalo Detroit at Chicago Oakland at Tennessee Cincinnati at New England Arizona at St. Louis San Francisco at Seattle Green Bay at Philadelphia Dallas at Washington MON, SEP 13 Baltimore at NY Jets San Diego at Kansas City -------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- (for those that want to participate, just copy the schedule, paste it in the message box and follow the instructions listed above, I will tally and post the scores on Tuesdays following the Monday Night Game)

Thanks for the reply, rade. I'll check it out later tonight when I can finally get away from work. I'll report back to let you know if I got it working.

If you don't mind, how exactly do you go about changing the mapping ratio on your LCD screen? I have a 22" LCD widescreen and have long given up on finding a solution to run MVP on this monitor. Although I've been wrapped up in The Show this season, I have no doubt I'll be firing up MVP for years to come. Thanks!

Man, rick.. Do you guys say this across the pond?: When it rains, it pours?
-
You just can't catch a break, rick. I know the feeling of not being able to get over that hump. At times like this, even .500 looks good.
-
Good luck, rick. Like I said, it's good to see this going again. Hopefully we'll see more here in the next couple of weeks.
-
..and the plot thickens..I love it! Great job, rick, do what you gotta do. Looks like things are starting to get interesting!
-
I feel your pain, rick, that bottom 6th was the killer. I know games like these all too well, you just can't seem to get over that hump. Keep pluggin man, that 10 game winning streak might just be right around the corner.

That's how it's done. At this point you have to look at each series, and not the season as a whole. Good thing is, you still have enough time to get things done. I've been working all winter on a presentation and some ideas for The Show 10. Instead of running a season with realistic rosters, schedule, etc., I'm going to lean more on presentation and storyline. I'm really looking forward to presenting something with next gen graphics. Other than that, I really don't want to give anything away quite yet, I think what I have in mind may turn out to be my best effort so far. Anyway, I've updated my rosters for MVP and will be playing that on my own time. I'm still convinced it will be the best sim out there. Even this year. :drinks:

Wow, Texas at 56-64? I would have loved to have seen that in my dynasty last August. Ichiro, Hamilton and Kinsler are raking, but other than that, they don't look like too much of a threat at the plate, and besides that, Zink looks like he's pitched well for you this year (8-5, 1.97). Good luck rick, and great job on the pitcher matchup board.
-
Good grief, rick, were you mad at the Rays, or just happy to be back playing? 5 under .500 with almost 2 months of baseball left. Keep fighting, man, you can do it.
-
That sucks man, what happened, you run outta beer money? :)
-
You can get it HERE MVP Edit v 03.0 with Team Changer
-
That's great news, rick. As you know, there are a couple of new games coming out (The Show 10 & MLB 2K10), so I really figured you had probably abandoned this one (MVP). I'll definitely check out the both of the new titles, but I'm tweaking my MVP rosters for 2010 just in case. If all else fails, I'll have MVP ready on the back burner. Good luck getting back into this one.
-
rick? Is that you? Good to see you back. As you can see, it's deathly quiet in the dynasty section, it would be great to see you get back on track. Looking forward to it.

ar_key: Since the first concept worked out ok, and the fact that I'm still pretty new at this, I just stayed with the same type of theme. Hope it works.

The same concept:

Thanks man. I think I may be getting the hang of it. As you can see, keeping it simple is key. Simple = right up my alley. :)
-
Cool man, here it is: 1440X900 lol, for the life of me I couldn't figure out how to just attach it
-
Since it's been snowing here all day, I actually had a chance to work with this. For the sake of no experience, I kept it pretty simple. If you want anything changed, added, deleted, just give me a shout. Hope it works! I reduced the size on this one to post it, if you want the original (1440X900) just let me know.

Guys, give me a few days, like I said, I don't have much experience with walls so I'm taking my time to look over some tutorials and such. I'll do these two, and if they turn out ok I may make a few more.

Edit - Sorry, this was posted in the wrong thread.

Sure thing man, I'll give it a shot. I'll post it here in this thread in the next day or so. I'll give it my best.
