  1. Just a reminder, this is a 5 game series. One more loss and I'm out.
  2. I finally got 'em today. Trout homers on the first pitch of the game, but that's all they would get. mwa ha HA! Will post update a bit later.
  3. Please. I need all the help I can get. Seriously though, just getting past the Wild Card game and getting in the playoffs was well worth the season. I go home for 3 games, so maybe, just MAYBE I can turn it around. Highly doubt it, though.
  4. Went down again in Game 2, lost 3-0. C.J. Wilson was tough to hit. Angels lead the series, 2-0.
  5. Just to note from Game 1 - Trout, Trumbo, Hamilton, and Ianetta (2) all went deep for the Angels, while Reddick homered for the A's. Not sure I've seen 6 home runs in a single game all year.
  6. IANETTA HOMERS TWICE, A'S FALL IN GAME 1 Angels Lead Series 1-0
  7. GAME 1, ALDS Oakland (91-71) vs Los Angeles (94-68)
  8. The ball is kind of hard to see here (better in the highlights video), but this is the shot that tied it up in the bottom of the 4th. As it hooked around the fair pole, I was merely feet from being eliminated. I actually thought it was foul until I saw the first base ump give the HR signal.
  9. JOSH DONALDSON HOMERS IN 13th, A'S STAY ALIVE GAME HIGHLIGHTS (Wild Card)
  10. Here's how it's going down. Unfortunately there's only 1 Wild Card team, but no big deal. I have one game, win or go home, vs Toronto today. Trying to put it off as long as I can. I'll be a nervous wreck.
  11. Love it! I do enjoy hearing about other people's seasons and how they are going. Sounds as if the Angels are just as tough in your season as they are mine. They finished 3 games ahead of me (Oakland) and took the West, although I made it in as a Wild Card. Great write up, BTW. Sounds like you're having a blast. Keep us updated!
  12. How's that season going? Did you get to finish? I need details.
  13. Well, I finished the season, got in as a Wild Card team. Will be playing Toronto. Will post matchups later, but this is who's in: Toronto Detroit L.A.A. *Oakland Philadelphia St. Louis Arizona *Atanta
  14. Happy Birthday Mike!
  15. I just played maybe one of the very best games I have ever played vs the Angels tonight. Won 3-2. Will post later. Wow.
  16. And here's how it's winding down.
  17. A's GRITTY, TAKE OUT WILSON IN 5-1 WIN GAME HIGHLIGHTS
  18. I got em this time. Finally beat the Angels 5-1 today. With 4 games left in the season, I'm 1.5 GB in the West, and leading the Wild Card race by 3 games. Sooooo close.
  19. Actually, I haven't seen it yet Sean, but can't wait to. That was one bad ass show.
  20. Not yet. Got busy with work, and am still about 5 games from ending the season. Looks like it may be Wild Card for but me, but there is a slim chance. I'll get back to playing tonight after I get beat by the Angels.
  21. Thanks for the good words oldtimey, just love being able to share the game with us hardcore baseball gamers. Sounds like you got a great one going there too. Please keep us posted!
  22. BTW, Hamilton was walked 3 times, 6 in total from my pitching staff. There is simply no way around this lineup.
  23. WEAVER SOLID, STIFLE A'S A.L. West Standings A.L. Wild Card A.L. East (for anyone interested)
  24. Other than Granderson and someone else (don't remember who it was, couldn't have been anyone of much importance) are on the DL. The Yankees are a GB in the East, and only 2 GB from a Wild Card spot. They've been on a tear this month and don't look to be slowing down. With a solid, healthy roster, they're extremely capable of taking that division. Edit - BTW, it was Phil Hughes on the DL too.
  25. Vuvuzuelas. Now that you mention it, my wife did tell me what they were called at the time. Not hard to imagine they got banned, and as I've said, if soccer fans in said particular arena enjoy it, then good for them. I honestly couldn't even hear the announcers over it, to be honest.
