Thanks guys. You're all welcome. I love the MVP and I feel it's still the best baseball game for PC. NHL 2004 is even more "moddable" as the frontend is full JS/HTML. It has enabled us to do a lot of crazy things. There was also Season 1995-1996 mod released. All years 1995-1999 are now covered. Check that out if you want to play with Wayne Gretzky, Mario Lemieux and other superstars from that era.. Yes indeed. Start it from the Launcher.exe and define the widescreen width. You can also modify the FOV (field of view) to adjust the camera distance to your own liking.

We modify NHL 2004 because it's superior in every single aspect (compared to other PC NHL games). The ai is ridiculously superior.to anything else ever released on PC. NHL 05-09 (PC) are pure crap in comparison. Those newer ones are arcade games, really. It's like comparing Austin Allegro to a Jaguar E-Type or Ferrari Daytona. Interface is html/JS which makes it easily accessible and you can add pretty much everything there. NHL 05-09 have console interfaces which can't be altered. They have almost no statistics at all. Those are the main reasons, really. Best game engine, best interface, best everything.

Hey guys... long time no see. Here's the latest. You can now view all gamestats and full scoring and penalty summaries from every single CPU simmed games as well. Vintage mod has very authentic fighting logic engine.

Yeah... it's not going to die because it's a damn good game... just like MVP2005. Just imagine the possibilities of MVP05 if it had a HTML/JS based interface like NHL04. That's a big part of the NHL04 cult following and longevity... that easy access to the interface has made some incredible mods possible. Also the great game engine plays big part of course.

Thanks for the reply. No... it didn't work. I re-installed MLB 2k11 instead. Too bad... I never had a chance to play 2k12. Was it slightly improved compared to its predecessor?

I've played this for quite a while and I've never managed to hit the ball out the ballpark. I even increased the USER batting power but no cigar. Is it all about just timing... or does the keyboard somehow limit my options? Thanks in advance. PS: Lovin' the 2012 mod.

I can't even fix the freezing by changing the date... dunno what's wrong. Nothing works... not even changing date back to 2011. That p**ssed me off so much that I uninstalled the game and got myself the MVP05 2012 mod. :)

This is exactly why I switched back to XP... too many old games stopped working. Actually I moved back from Vista... it was a piece of garbage. People say W7 is a bit better in this regard though. I never understood people's obsession to install new OS just for the sake of it... of course it's different when you buy a new PC that already has that system installed. XP is still the best gaming system... the only downside is that you can only utilize 3 Megs of RAM.... but all brand new games run great with it.
