  1. Thanks for the edit Dylan. (Cue dramatic music, duh-duh, duh...)
  2. Unless Pittsburgh loses, then I, having picked opposite of everyone else it seems, would be tied with all of you at 9-4 Unless I missed something of course... Maybe Pittsburgh already won and I missed it (Cue dramatic music, duh-duh, duh...) :D
  3. Time changes in about 15 minutes. Kids with cell phones drive me nuts. In their defense though, I never thought I would get one, but I did. It sounds funny saying that though, because I ended up getting one all the way back in 1996. Also, I said I would never get a fancy one that had internet, but here I am with a fairly new phone (got it a few months back), and use the net to check scores and such every day. My phone wont come to the dinner table though. I find it highly disrespectful, and don't like when my wife's former step daughter comes over and and is on hers the entire time. Doesn't matter if we are watching a movie, eating dinner, or playing a game as a family.... Text messages are constant. I don't approve of it, but my wife is okay with it (probably why the kid is that way now that she is a teenager), so she is allowed to do it.
  4. Sun, NOV 7 NY Jets at Detroit Miami at Baltimore New England at Cleveland San Diego at Houston Chicago at Buffalo Arizona at Minnesota Tampa Bay at Atlanta New Orleans at Carolina NY Giants at Seattle Indianapolis at Philadelphia Kansas City at Oakland Dallas at Green Bay Mon, NOV 8 Pittsburgh at Cincinnati 27-24 (51)
  5. This week sucked. I didn't watch a single game today. Luckily the Bears didn't play, so I didn't have to watch them suck either.
  6. Sun, OCT 31 Denver at San Francisco Jacksonville at Dallas Miami at Cincinnati Buffalo at Kansas City Washington at Detroit Carolina at St. Louis Green Bay at NY Jets Tennessee at San Diego Minnesota at New England Tampa Bay at Arizona Seattle at Oakland Pittsburgh at New Orleans MON, NOV 1 Houston at Indianapolis Indy 27 - Houston 24= 51 I get the feeling that this is one of those weeks that I will either get 12 right, or 3 right... No in between...
  7. What gets me is that I have had a pretty solid year so far, yet had I actually picked in week one (wasn't around much that week, and didn't notice the thread til it was to late) I would have had to go 12-4 to equal what DOT's record is for the year... And Dylan is just 1 win behind that... You guys are doing great. Percentage wise, I would be in 3rd right now, so I feel kinda good about that.
  8. Holy crap. I really must not pay attention to who I pick. I really felt I had a below .500 week.
  9. lol I am ok with being wrong. I had just forgotten that I had changed it until you said something...
  10. It's been a horrible week for picks. Heck, I thought I picked the Bengals.... Had to go back and check after I saw what Dylan said... I know Bengals was my original pick, but sometimes my gut tells my brain it's wrong, and I change it... lol Must have been one of those times... :)
  11. Should be no issue there. You let me enter the MNF score late last week. I mean, the game had not yet started at the time you posted it anyway...
  12. Sun, OCT 24 Cincinnati at Atlanta Pittsburgh at Miami Buffalo at Baltimore Jacksonville at Kansas City Cleveland at New Orleans Washington at Chicago San Francisco at Carolina St. Louis at Tampa Bay Philadelphia at Tennessee Arizona at Seattle New England at San Diego Oakland at Denver Minnesota at Green Bay MON, OCT 25 NY Giants at Dallas 27-14=41
  13. Man, I did better than I thought I would. :)
  14. I'll add it in to a separate post so there is no question that I didn't edit the original after the early games are already played. Thanks guys. Here it is: 27-17 = 44
  15. I guess I forgot the Monday night score. Oh well. The way things look at a quick glance, I am having another lousy week anyway.

  19. With the Bears win, I go 10-6. I'll take it. Add that to my 11-5 record last week, and I am surprising myself with how well I have done. I am expecting to crash and burn any day now. lol
  20. I'll take 11-5. I actually felt it was an easy week to pick, so we will see how I do this time around... Tennessee at NY Giants Pittsburgh at Tampa Bay Cincinnati at Carolina Cleveland at Baltimore Dallas at Houston San Francisco at Kansas City Detroit at Minnesota Detroit has looked decent, and Minnesota has looked average at best. Buffalo at New England Atlanta at New Orleans Washington at St. Louis Philadelphia at Jacksonville Oakland at Arizona San Diego at Seattle Indianapolis at Denver NY Jets at Miami MON, SEP 27 Green Bay at Chicago 32-27 (59) Total homer pick, since I expect it to be wrong... lol EDIT: Like JR, I suppose I should clarify. I am picking the Bears to win 32-27
  21. We used to do this back in the day over on Simcentral.net. Since not many people come around there anymore, I am not even sure if they still do it. I actually finished 3rd one year, but for the most part I will usually end up one of the cellar dwellers. SUN, SEP 19 Pittsburgh at Tennessee Miami at Minnesota Arizona at Atlanta Baltimore at Cincinnati Kansas City at Cleveland Chicago at Dallas Philadelphia at Detroit Buffalo at Green Bay Tampa Bay at Carolina Seattle at Denver St. Louis at Oakland Houston at Washington New England at NY Jets Jacksonville at San Diego NY Giants at Indianapolis MON, SEP 20 New Orleans at San Francisco 31-10
  22. Wow. You really are a piece of work. You need to learn how to stop holding grudges as well. You know... Forgive and forget... I mean, how long has it been since I made that comment... One that was justified at that time, by the way... I don't think the person I was defending did anything at all on that day to deserve the treatment he got. If memory serves me, he ended up acting out later on in the thread, but you do too, when people call you out.. But yeah, the day you guys learn to differentiate between dumb people asking stupid questions (like the one from Vikrant above), and some people that are new, and really just don't know... We are all human, and sometimes we make mistakes... You guys tend to lump 80% of these questions into a pile, and talk **** about them all... Then you throw in a few nice comments towards an occasional dumb question, and all of a sudden, you're a saint or something.. I was lucky enough to be one of those guys who was treated right. Granted, I have been around the block a time or two at others sites around the web since I first joined the world of the internet back in 1996... I understand how some people work, and I came here with a different attitude than some of the newer people. Maybe that is why I was one of the "chosen ones" (at least for a while.. Til I ruffled your feathers). I could care less how you treat people who come in here and act like Vikrant was... It's the instant responses that bug me. If a guy comes in and acts like a dick from day one, tear him apart... I mean, we all like to give people a hard time, but there is no need to be a jerk right back. Vikrant came in, got picked on a little bit, and acted like a baby... Fine, have your fun, he now deserves it... But, if a guy comes in and asks one dumb question, because he doesn't know any better, and 5 or 6 people (including 2 or 3 admins) start ripping on him, and treating him like ****, how is he supposed to react? How many potentially good members have been driven away because of how some of the admins treated him. Hell, I was nearly driven away in my first week when one of the admins didn't agree with my stance on steroids, and asked me 'if I was drunk... I mean, how can anyone be that stupid if they aren't drunk'. Now that isn't an exact quote, and Y4L, you may even remember that day, because I think you are one of the ones that came to my defense... In the end, all I am saying is that there is a fine line. Sure, you don't want to give some idiot the idea that he can be like that all the time, but you also don't need to jump down a guys throat over one dumb thing. I am sure my thread will be broken down in quotes, by paragraph, and responded to... Or maybe just ignored all together.. That's fine... This isn't my site to run, you do it however you think Trues would want you to... I really don't go to the forums anymore.. I pretty much just scan the "recent topics" on the home page to see if I see anything interesting or not. I just happened to stumble across this thread today (15 days after the above comment was made). I probably wont come back in any time soon either, so feel free to tear me to shreds for standing up for the few people that deserve it. Wont bother me at all. Have a wonderful day :)
  23. Mordecai "Three Finger" Brown Mordecai Peter Centennial Brown (October 19, 1876 – February 14, 1948), nicknamed "Three Finger" or "Miner", was an American Major League Baseball pitcher at the turn of the 20th century. Due to a farm-machinery accident in his youth, Brown lost parts of two fingers on his right hand and eventually acquired his nickname as a result. Overcoming this handicap and turning it to his advantage, he became one of the elite pitchers of his era. After a spectacular minor league career commencing in Terre Haute of the Three-I League in 1901, Brown came to the majors rather late, at age 26, in 1903, and lasted until 1916 when he was close to 40. Brown's most productive period was when he played for the Chicago Cubs from 1904 until 1912. During this stretch, he won 20 or more games six times and was part of two World Series championships. New York Giants manager John McGraw regarded his own Christy Mathewson and Brown as the two best pitchers in the National League. In fact, Brown often defeated Mathewson in competition, most significantly in the final regular season game of the 1908 season. Brown had a slim career 13-11 edge on Mathewson, with one no-decision in their 25 classic pitching matchups. Brown was elected to the Baseball Hall of Fame in 1949.
