  1. yeah that's a good idea I'll have to look for something, right now Im not to worried about that as much as the uniforms. I think I have 3 out of 122 teams done so I have a long time before this is done

I attached a link to the above post. If anyone has MVP 06, maybe they can rip that sound for you. I have one more file I can try to get you from another site as well.

The uniforms are looking good though. It'll be worth it in the end.

  2. Everything you said here is true. Now look at this from my perspective for a second. Ever since Boston won their championships, their fans have become more and more intolerable. They act like they are better than everyone else and if you dare disagree with them they'll act all offended and they'll run off and tell on you. It's almost like since they finally saw their team win a championship it gave them the right to push people around and find fault in them when you don't agree with them.

Man, wait til our Cubbies win.... You don't like Boston fans, you're really gonna hate us. :D lol I mean, according to most fans of other teams on the MLB site, we are already intolerable.

I mean, we suck, and we still think our history is probably better than any other teams history, other than the Yankees.

  3. Before I forget and post this in this thread I want to say Happy Birthday today to your wife and also to you, even though it is two days too early. You are the kind of person that joins our site and is a pleasure to have around. You're knowledgeable about many things, helpful and are always a pleasure to have around. (And you can't say that about everyone who joins.) My only regret is that you have not been with us since the site started up six years back.

As far as working on your mod, you got to take a break from it every so often. Jim825 has often said this in the forums and in the shoutbox. Sometimes you need a few days away just to get yourself wanting to go back in there again. I always bring up the example of what Hory did when he created his 1994 mod. It took him 18 months to do because he took his time and he made sure everything was just to his liking. And if you've ever played the 1994 season mod you'll see that he was successful in making one of the best season mods out there. So, take your time.

Exactly right. It all depends on how you look at things. And I'll be the first to admit there is too much Yankee-Red Sox crap talked about in here and that it gets overblown at times. Also those two teams are covered way too much in the National media too, but that's how it always has been.

Thank you for the birthday wishes, and kind words. It's greatly appreciated.

As far as the mod goes, some of it is very fun, and I can keep on going. Some of it gets old real fast. I want to keep doing the fun stuff, but I know from experience that:

A ) If I do all the fun stuff first, then I have to deal with all of the boring stuff at the same time, towards the end, and that ends up meaning cutting corners.

B ) There is an order to some of the stuff that needs done, and to really do it right, it helps to do it in that order. Otherwise, you may end up going back and having to redo some things later.

And last, at least you know there is a reason for all of the Red Sox/Yankees coverage, and the rivalry... When you have two top notch franchises, with so much great tradition, and so many great players (plus the most money to spend)... Your bound to have them be the most popular teams, and most covered..

Add to that the fact they are both in the same division, and you get the hated rivalry. As much as I don't care much for either team, and get tired of the coverage, you have to appreciate it all.

  4. Thanks for the plug Y4L. I basically took a week off, and did very little during that stretch. I was getting a little burnt out on modding. Felt like playing it more than finishing it. Got back on track last night though. Wife's birthday is today, and mine on Tuesday, so I am not sure how much time I will have to spend on it (especially today).

Oh, and you can say bad things about the Red Sox, you just can't be a Yankee fan, and say bad things about the Red Sox. Look at things from the outside, and you will see, it goes both ways though ;)

  5. We have mlb08 and mlb09 on PS2. IMO, it's not worth playing on that console. We did just trade in the 360 and maybe 10 games for $200, and the PS3 and MLB10 cost us $300 (plus some PS2 games for my son). For me, I'm just tired of fooling around with 2k. If 2k10 is great, then it also plays on the PS3. I don;t play too many other video games, so it's an easy choice for me.

I enjoyed 09 on the PS2, and it's fairly cheap compared to, not only current Gen games, but what you would have paid 5 years ago for the same thing.

  6. Total Classics are great, it's kind of become this games bread and butter, but it's nice to see some other people working on full conversion mods. I mean, we have at least 3 people other than Jim working on something, and I think it's great.

One things for sure, and man I outta know, there is a lot of work to putting something together like this. So far, I am loving every minute of mine, but man, some of this stuff can get pretty tedious...

Here's hoping you guys keep this sucker going, and make it happen. Sounds like the makings of a great mod.

  7. yeah pm me your aim and ill try to help you out, not right now though but maybe tomorrow, but right now im not sure if we are going to do rosters andys way (team stats) or the other way (player stats)

Maybe I mis-read, but I thought the team stats thing was just going to be for the Freshmen, since you don't have stats for them yet.

  8. Make sure you log in on the home page (bottom left hand corner), and not the forums. Unless something has changed in the past year, logging in on the forums will not let you download anything.

  9. ...And one week from today is Valentine's Day. My contempt for this holiday is long and deep. I don't like "holidays" invented by American retail salesman with the sole intent of taking your money once again with the excuse of buying something special for your wife or girlfriend. They conveniently forget that Christmas was seven weeks in the past and there are some people still paying for it. And yes, if I don't buy something for her next week I will be hit with the sad face and hurtful look. I know when I'm beat.

...Remember for those of you who are going to be ordering out for pizza for the game, order early. Enjoy!

On the pizza part... I learned that the hard way 2 weeks ago... And that was just the NFC/AFC championship weekend.

As for Valentines day. We usually keep it simple. Maybe dinner. Maybe some flowers. I have always known my wife isn't huge on Valentines day, but she flat out told me last night that she doesn't like gifts (giving or receiving), and that I don't have to bother this year. Thank God. I feel the same way as you do Y4L, and thankfully, so does my lady.

  10. Then unfortunately man, I really don't know what to tell you. You could try downloading the April 14th version (version 1.0) , but I doubt it would work as it's the same macro, and has less features.

That's the one I have used before. The other one (2.0) I had D/L but never unzipped it, or tried it. Tried them both earlier today though, and both failed.

Another alternative you could try is downloading the Microsoft Excel Viewer. I do not know if it supports macros, however.

Tried the viewer, but it will not let me do anything but look at it.

I used your home run calculator you made that one time, to calculate home run percentages, and it used to work too. Don't have it anymore, so I can't try it, but it was done as an excel spreadsheet too.

Just bugs me when I KNOW it worked before. How the heck else did I use it, if I have never had Microsoft Office installed?

Oh well, it isn't your problem. I know they work great, I was just either really lucky before, or unlucky now.

    Thanks for the suggestions.

  11. Good point Andy. I should note emath, everyone else who uses Open Office the spreadsheet components of my programs have never worked.

    Sorry to disappoint.

I know it worked before, because I made some schedules before. I couldn't remember right at first, but found the 3 files from when I first tried it.

    This really bugs me.

    Oh well.

  12. Dylan, I have always used Open office instead Microsoft office, and I know this worked for me when you first did it. Now I can't get it to work at all. I keep getting an error.

    Clip-36.jpg

Maybe I am mistaken, but I swear it worked for me before. You have any idea if it should work? Or do you know if what may be causing the issue pictured above?

  13. Just a note for anyone in here that is interested in creating their own uniforms for MVP or has questions about them, post your questions here in this thread. This is Spungo's thread and over the years he has made uniforms for every single major league team and also the minor leagues too.

The thing is, if you have played MVP before you probably have already seen his work. Check out for example the MVP 2008 and 2007 mod. That's his stuff. Also check out the 2009 mod for MVP 2004 by piratesmvp04.

What stands out in his work can be summed up in three words: Attention to detail. He won't just make a uniform once and then be done with it. Do the buttons look wrong in one uniform? He'll fix it. He'll keep on tweaking these uniforms until he's satisfied and the end result is what you see in the game, a uniform that looks just as good as the ones you see if you are watching a game on a high definition TV.

Only the best modders here have this kind of attitude towards their work. Look at the four top stadium guys (paulw, Big O, Sean O and Pirate) and you'll see that they have the same approach to their work. Look at Hory. It took him 18 months to create the 1994 mod. Attention to detail. And Jim825. Every time he thinks a total conversion mod is completed he finds something else to put in or something else to tinker with. That's what I think spungo's attitude is towards his work. You may be satisfied with his work but he has to be satisfied first.

So if any of you guys want to learn how to make your uniforms or make your existing uniforms better there's no other place to go on this site than right here.

Every single one of those guys kick *** Y4L, and it's great to see most of them still plugging away, and making great stuff for this wonderful game.

  14. Well, while I am waiting for my copy to come, I cheated a lil bit. I was excited to try it out.

    I really like it.

My only issue is I am not to happy with the rosters (though they aren't bad), and it plays almost TO real. I like more of a arcade style of game (though I new from the description going in that it was more true to life). This was fun though, and I did win my first game 1-0 on a late goal (Actually, I think I may have scored a second goal a minute or so later, but I may be confusing the game I played on PS2 earlier in the day).

Hell, the fist game I played, I goofed up on the controller select screen, and never did select one. Ended up watching a period of CPU vs CPU... It was almost like watching the real thing. The graphics are far superior (obviously) to the PS2, and the game play looks real.

Anyone that enjoys hockey should probably dig this one out of your closet, or find a copy.

  15. From one of the sellers numerous negative feedbacks.

"He did not include everything in the package that he said he would!"

Date: April 6, 2006 Rated by Buyer: Leslie E.

Seller Response: "BUYER EMAILS ME SAYING HE ONLY GOT SEALED SLEEVES. THAT IS EXACTLY WHAT THE DESCRIPTION SAID HE WOULD GET. THIS IS AN UNFAIR FEEDBACK. IF YOU WANT SOMETHING FOR FREE YOU CAME TO THE WRONG PERSON." Date: April 7, 2006

I think that is what this is. Nothing but sleeves... Are you serious? If so, what a loser...

EDIT: I canceled my order, and sent an email asking for details. If it is actually a game, I will get it, but if not....

  16. I saw that a few minutes ago. Maybe I am just paranoid, but this made me start to think...

BRAND NEW 2 factory sealed sleeves with registration key only.

If it is brand new, why am I only getting factory sealed sleeves? Where is my box, and my manual? Plus, it doesn't say anywhere, anything about the game discs, just two sleeves, and the key.

EDIT: Ahh, I see I am not the only one thinking that...

EDIT #2: I went ahead and took the risk for the price, but it seems a little off to me.

I can't even find a place to contact them on Amazon...

  17. I just bought this off amazon for $5.

Lucky find. I found one copy in EBAY stores or whatever, but I didn't get it for whatever reason. Honestly, there was a reason, but I can't remember what it was... And this was only about 24 hours ago...

Silly Blackhawks lost tonight. I am blaming it on the fact I couldn't find the game televised anywhere, so I didn't watch it.

I actually just played NHL 2k10 (on PS2, so it's nothing special, but all I can get for the PS2), and it isn't bad for my style of play. I just lost 2-1 in OT in my first game. Hossa scored in the first couple of minutes, but then I got shut out the rest of the way.

Lovin' this Blackhawks team though. If I can find a copy of 04, I am will be giving this a try as well.

EDIT: Ahh, a quick search of Ebay, and I remember my reason. The seller listed it as game only (no original case, or instructions as far as I can tell), and lists it as only "acceptable" condition. The 6 negative feed backs received in the past 6 months (with no reply with explanation from the seller) doesn't help either.

  18. Yeah, I have an 08 mod with some of my favorite rock songs, and an all time mod (still unfinished, because I am lazy ;) ) with a bunch of classic baseball songs. Some of the titles run over on the space provided, but that isn't really an issue.

  19. With all the files being removed from some of the bigger modders, people will now feel less need to come here, and things are only gonna get worse. What a sad day.

What's worse is how some of these mods seem to be found only here, and now they are gone. No offense to EAmods, but most of the stuff here is not there, and even if it is, it is a nightmare trying to find it. Mods have little or no descriptions, so even if you see something interesting, you have no idea if it is something you would want...

Most of this stuff is gonna be lost forever...
