I'm curious to see how this turns out. I used to play R.B.I. baseball for NES and would keep hand written stats so I could know how my players were doing. What a long way we have come...lol

That statement was from lifo80050917 who is just making trades to my end of season roster and re-releasing it on his own. He didn't adjust the ratings at all, but I did on every single MLB and MILB in the same roster. And those ratings are based entirely off of a statically based rating system that I have found to be incredibly accurate when playing a franchise using my sliders. To call them "horrible" is a sorrily uneducated and unappreciative comment...especially when not one other person has ever released a final roster with ratings included for MLB2k12 besides myself. These kinds of comments are why I am stepping away from roster editing. I have gone back to doing it only for my own franchise but probably wont release anything in 2014, and you can see what you get as an alternative. Wudl's ratings are very good too, but he has never released a final version due to the enormous amount of work this kind of thing takes. I spent my entire summer and a 2 week vacation on my last roster just so the community would have a final completed version with ratings included to play with. Most are extremely thankful, but if you don't like one or two ratings you are more than welcome to take 10 mins to change them in your game. I would love it if I only had to spend 10 mins vs. 4 months to have a complete and updated roster. I don't think you meant to be so offensive, but I would suggest looking into things before you make those kinds of comments in the future. No hard feelings but trying to justify it doesn't make it any better.

Question/suggestion For Rosters Going Forward
BSU-FAN replied to gotribematt's topic in Mod Requests
Creating a schedule using the editor is a very long and tedious process. It has to be done game by game. So...this involves taking the time to put in each games info (picking home and away teams, start time, date, and game sequence) for all 2,430 regular season MLB games played in one year. And if you don't do the sequence part correctly it will cause crashes. Which roster are you using that has problems after year 1? My BSUFAN2013UltimateRoster V2 has no problems going forward with total number of games or crashes unless you are modifying something on your own. I have simmed many franchises years into the future using all different teams and have yet to see it crash or have issues with total games played. I hope this helps. -
Ya. I figure I may have a better shot at more people come spring..lol

I haven't tested the online component of Mlb 2k12 for quite sometime... but a while ago I was able to play some fellow MVPMODS friends online and the game-play was actually very smooth and playable. We also attempted to start an online season and a few of us had actually completed games successfully. Shortly after that was the date glitch and the 2k online servers went down for months and months killing our online season. Well recently I have noticed that 2k seems to have all the online servers working well again and I want to test out another online season if I can finds others that are interested. I want to start small and do an 8 team 20 game season with a 4 team playoff with 5 games series'. I have it set up to be a fantasy draft since the only roster you can use is the very out dated default "online roster" that 2k has uploaded to their servers. I am looking for 7 other people that can dedicate some time to playing this through and can also be flexible enough to work with others to set up mutually convenient game times. Those who have strong internet connections are preferable since all games will be played live online with other users. The nice part is that it allows you to play games out of order so you can play the games on your schedule with whoever is available at that time. If you are interested in joining this "Online Season" please message me or post a response to this thread. I'm not too sure what kind of interest there is for this but if it works well 2K allows up to 30 teams and even 162 game season(though that would be next to impossible to do with so many conflicting schedules) but we could expand the teams and season length if all goes as planned. I have already created this online season in 2K and will give the password out to the first 7 people that contact me and can meet the basic requirements listed above. I am a Braves fan so I have chosen to control Atlanta in this season...but all other teams are still available.

That's not at all what we are saying. I understand that you were only speaking your opinion. The part that is a bit confusing to me is you are claiming you were " Just trying to help ! . It helps to hear people that tested the work to be honest about it GOOD OR BAD because it could help improve the work ." But you posted the non constructive comments of my work in another modders roster feed? I have asked for feedback on my roster since early October and this was the first I have heard from you(actually the first negative comment out of many). You made no attempt to ask me how I came up with ratings or even checked to see the legitimacy of it in action. In my current franchise Byrd is batting .256 with 5 Hr's, 20 RBI's, and 1 SB through 65 games. According to those numbers he wont even reach what he actually did in 2013. If you want to continue to see people like Wudl83 and myself put this kind of effort into something we do for free...you may want to think about what you are saying before you type it. We are all free to an opinion...but there is a community here that believes in expressing it in constructive ways. I apologize to Wudl83 because we have hi-jacked his thread now and that is not right either. His work is very very good, and while many have suggested that we work together on a roster I find co-authoring very difficult with the method I use in editing. Anyway, thanks again for the support from MVPmods.com and the support of the community that appreciates and helps encourage the hard work that goes on with very little appreciation. Happy Holidays to all!!! MercyLord there is no hard feelings...just don't expect some of us not to jump to defend ourselves or scold those that take a wrong approach at helping.

Glad you got it fixed and thanks for the feedback. I always want to know if there are any crashing issues with my roster. I have tested and retested this roster with all 30 teams by simming years ahead and have yet to find one single crash. So far, when someone has reported a crash; it has ended up having something to do with other mods they are using. I can say with some certainty that this roster is crash free, but there are so many variables, statistically speaking in a franchise; that there is always a chance the game does something weird to one person but not anyone else.

My rating system is 100% statistical based. "Horrible" is such a funny word to use. You are the 1st person to have any negative comment on the rating system and i have had well over 1000 downloads. Me and Wudl83 both agree that you shouldn't pay attention to overall ratings as much as the individual ratings. 2K puts more value on certain ratings and speedy outfielders have some of the most overrated overalls out there. Also.. Byrd had very solid year in 2013...just saying. Thanks for the feedback but i would appreciate it if you were more constructive with your comments. And thanks Jim

I have looked into this and have not seen it happen on my end. I am guessing this may have something to do with some other mod you may have downloaded but I am not positive of that. I will continue to investigate and let you know if I find anything out. Thanks to everyone for the positive feedback. I have been busy playing a franchise(the best I have ever experienced) and also working on the 2014 schedule. Just a reminder since I have had a few problems regarding the re-release of this roster: If you want to edit this roster and release it to the community I only ask that you put "BSU" somewhere in the .ros file name when you release it publicly. This is only to give my favorite college some recognition. I think this is an easy and reasonable request considering the amount of time and effort that went into this project. I also want to say thanks to MVPMODS for supporting the modders the way that they do. It really makes the modders feel appreciated and valued; which helps keep them motivated to continue to make great mods. Thanks again MVPMODS!

You can use the editor to make the schedule match that of the 2014 MLB schedule but a franchise will always start in 2012. While the date swapper does change the date it causes all kinds of other problems and crashes. I have been testing a few ideas out but have yet to come up with anything stable and crash free.
-
I also want to send a huge thanks the other modders for helping make this game what it is. I am just glad I can help in any way. I am seriously considering it. I have already started working on the 2014 schedule just so I can import it into my franchise when my season is done. I am curious to see what kind of interest there would be for a full 2k14 mod but it would take a team of people to make it successful.

I have seen the Astros make it in...and even make it to the AL championship game. Nothing to worry about there Astro fans Scotty billy released the original version of my roster compatible with his faces and your portraits earlier in this thread...but I didn't end up using that as my master copy when editing the schedule because I found to many skin tone issues and cyberfaces that still needed work or replaced ones that I liked more. I may at some point change the portrait numbers to match up with your portrait pack ( or you could make your portrait pack match my roster ) but I have actually grown fond of taking the portrait files completely out. In game this just leaves a 3d model of the cyberface. I myself go through each team as I get ready to play them in my franchise and find the players that still have generic cyberfaces or faces that don't resemble the actual player, and then I usually download scottybilly's faces and use Ty's editor to match up with the face I want. He has created so many player faces that even if he hasn't created that exact player there is bound to be one that resembles the player. This will slowly but surely get rid of all the "bad" cyberfaces leaving you a franchise full of true to life looking players in the correct team hat, even if you are years into your franchise. This is just a suggestion to those they may want to try it. You install and load a slider the same way you do a roster.
-
I attached my personal sliders in the download window for this roster. You can select it if you click click here to "Download" the roster. It's the .rar labled BSUFAN2013 at the top.

Just re-posted it now. Wanted to test it through a few more times. Still no crashes on my end and everyone is playing 162 games. I even switched out the minor league schedule to the old one so they are playing the correct amount of games as well.
-
Good news!!!!!!!! After hours of trouble shooting I fixed the issue and will re-release the roster. I was even able to leave in the 2013 schedule in and leave the Astros in the A.L. I have tested it through 2016 numerous times and every team plays 162 games every year now(one year there was a tie breaking game for a wild card and those 2 teams played 163). From playing around with this I now know how the game generates the next years schedule. It actually uses the embedded 2010 and 2011 schedules by default. It appears after 3 seasons the game starts auto-generating a schedule that has no issues with game numbers. The problem was that the 2010 and 2011 schedules have apparently been edited and didn't have the correct data along with other issues. What I did was swapped out the 2010 and 2011 schedules from my NoFakeNames5 rosters(which worked flawlessly) and imported them into this roster. The only remaining issue is that the Astros will play a NL schedule after year one but will stay in the AL West. I am 100% ok with this because that was even the case with my original release. I was hoping when reaching the 2014 season in the game (when the game starts generating it own schedules) it would schedule the Astros in the AL but that still wasn't the case. But... if someone has the knowledge and time to edit the 2010 and 2011 schedules correctly for the future years it would be possible to set-up to at least be correct for the first 3 season of a franchise. Like I said though this isn't a problem for me especially since I don't plan on using the Astros in my franchise. If you do, another option would be to put the Astros back into the NL and just play it that way. I'm very releaved that I found a solultion to this. Now I really can start playing my franchise. I would love to see people posting some franchise and game results using this roster/slider combo. I have been having some amazingly diverse and realistic games while playing with this set up. I also use a unique batting view along with being very patient at the plate. That is truly the secret to realistic games. Thanks again everyone for the help. Enjoy.

For the first season I usually play with cpu trades turned off. After my first season I usually turn them back on. This keeps all rosters in tact for the entire first season. If there is any trades made in real life that I want in game I just turn the "force trade" option on and since you control all 30 teams you can make any trades you want.
-
I play my franchises controlling all 30 teams as well just switching the other 29 I don't want to use to automate all tasks as well. Maybe this is why it isn't crashing for us... Just an idea. I have never seen it crash in sim or a game on my system using or testing this roster.
-
Which team were you using? I have simmed to and through the second season multiple times and I have yet to experience any crashes at all...not sure what would be causing the crash but I will try to look into it. Was it my roster that crashed or the one posted above by ScottyBilly that you tried using? Also a big thank you to ScottyBilly for updating the roster to match the most current portrait pack and all of his updated faces. Nice job! If you don't mind I will probably re-post my roster with all of your changes included. I will be sure to give you credit for the changes you made. Thanks everyone for the kind words of support and appreciation.

Finally it is here!!!!!!!!!!! It's better late than never. This is a full years worth of editing into one massive roster update. I want to give a massive thanks to WundaBreadz for his efforts early in this project. While I have edited and changed every player on this roster myself, I do know he spent many hours on things like the schedule and I don't want his efforts to go unnoticed here. Without him this roster wouldn't exist. Also a big thanks to everyone in the community for the support and awesome mods that keep me motivated to do this. While this will probably be my final roster it has been worth the endless hours of editing to finally start a franchise I plan on playing for years to come. I also have attached my very own difficulty slider that I believe goes perfectly with the rating system. For the best results with this slider you will need to be patient at the plate like a real hitter. Wait for you opportunity and work the counts. They will throw balls and walk you. V2 Fixes the 2nd and 3rd year schedule problem in franchise mode. See support topic for more info. Here is a list of what is included in this roster. Updated ALL player ratings in EVERY organization!!!!!!!!!!!! This includes minor leagues as well. This means there are stat based accurate ratings on over 2,250 players! All rosters and transactions are current as of 10/27/13 (Non-playoff teams' rosters are as they were on the final day of the regular season) I have updated most if not all major contract extensions to date as well. Updated batting orders and pitching rotations as of 10/27/13 Hundreds of batting stances and pitching motions have been added in or updated. Updated 2013 Schedule with the Astros in the American league. There are no crashes with this roster and you can play/sim multiple seasons. I have thoroughly tested it! Added in hundreds of prospects with correct likenesses and tendencies. This includes pitch repertoires and player tendencies based on real life scouting reports. Updated all manger and staff changes to the beginning of the 2013 season. As mentioned at Operation Sports I changed anticipation rating to 0 on all players to make game run more smoothly. I have also noticed more realistic and varied reactions from fielders now as well. Also changed all catcher ratings for "Blocking the plate" to 99. This was also discussed at Operation Sports and it makes the catcher stand between the runner and the plate now if the ball arrives early. Creating a much more realistic interaction from the runner and the catcher I too have found this to be a nice little improvement on overall gameplay. Updated all "Team" stats from the 2012 season. (This doesn't mean all individual players..just the entire teams' stats) Updated many generic player faces for prospects to look like their real life counterparts. This is also fully compatible with the cyber-face pack released by Wudl83 and is also compatible with most if not all cyber-faces released on MVPmods.com to date(This doesn't include ScottyBillys cyber-face packs since his were made for Wudl83's roster.) Many many more little updates like correct player gear such as mitt colors or batting gloves. I spent a long time on little details everywhere to make the game just that much more realistic. Here is what isn't in this roster: This roster is not fully compatible with any portrait packs released to date. While it may have many that do match up with Raidersbball's pack there will be many others on the wrong players. this is something I will leave up to the community to fix if they so desire. I myself actually play with my portrait files taken out of the game so it just shows a 3D player head instead of the players portrait. Something I would suggest to you to try out. While I have updated many cyberfaces... This roster still has many duplicate or generic cyberfaces. This again is something I will leave up to the community to improve upon if they so desire. (I would love for someone to update the Redsox players with their playoff beards...just an idea ) While I made an attempt I was only able to input the individual 2012 stats for 5 teams. This just was way to long of a process and would have delayed this project much longer. However the first 5 teams alphabetically do have a stat line labeled "12" with those players' correct and actual stats from the 2012 season. A magical rating system that will make everyone happy. While I used an unbiased and stat based rating system, I know that there will still be those of you that don't agree with my ratings. To those of you that don't agree..don't use this rosters. It's an easy fix. *To install extract to one of the following locations: For WinXP users: C:Documents and SettingsUserNameApplication Data2K SportsMajor League Baseball 2K12Saves For Vista and Windows 7 users: C:UsersUserNameAppDataRoaming2K SportsMajor League Baseball 2K12Saves This roster is available for anyone to openly edit and re-release under one condition! You must put BSU somewhere in your rosters file name when releasing it publicly. This will be ensure my favorite team BSU will be represented for years to come(even if it is a college football team). For the hours and hours of time put into this project I don't believe this is too much to ask. Thanks and enjoy! -

Still plugging along. This has been the longest time I have ever spent on a roster so I hope I can finish before it's too late The ratings are what is taking me so dang long!!!!!! I just finished rating the 16th MLB organization in the same amount of days. It takes me about 3 to 4 hours to edit and update one entire organization mostly focusing more time on ratings for MLB and AAA and making sure AA, and and A are still on the correct rosters. Along with that I follow along each day updating transactions so not to get behind on any of those. I really really am trying to have this finished before September call ups or else my job gets even harder . But either way this will get finished 100% before the end of the regular season or else... I should have been finished by now but I had a few out of town business trips that kept me away for much longer than expected.

Opps..Wrong thread. thanks.

Thanks. I'm not exactly sure what you mean by "some guys will start with 150 games"? Here is a pic of what it showed up like with these rosters after simming on full season. Wunderbreadz put the stat line for 2012 as "12" so you could still differentiate between the two. The line with the 12 are his sctual stats from 2012. The 2012 stats are from the simmed season. As you can see the totals for his career are correctly adding up even with the additional year added in via the editor. This will help with accurate stat/record keeping moving forward in a franchise and will also show up on the overlays while playing games; showing you last years stats rather than 2011's. Along with that you can download Vlad's "2k12 Franchise date swapper" tool here; and while it will change your franchise date to anything you want, it does cause the schedule to disappear. So until something is fixed with it then I am happy with the 12 and 2012 stats lines knowing that 2012 is 2013. I hope I didn't confuse everyone...lol
