Micah Owings (SP) has contact ratings of 64 & 74 with power of 91 & 83. KG, if he's that good I'll put in my everyday lineup. Whoa! that's better than Adam Dunn!
-
I just checked your new 6.2 roster and see you still have Fukudome with an 86 contact rating against righties. Fukudome with 343 AB against righties is hitting a whopping .259--and how does that translate into 86 for contact?

I just looked in UR 8.1 and he's listed with trajectory of 1-7 for his sinker. Seems like they don't know what you know, at least not yet. It will be interesting to see what UR has for him in the next edition. I need a new pair of glasses, been playing too much baseball, so I'll skip that JPEG thing.
-
MVPEdit says trajectory of 2-8 is not recommended for that pitch, which is what got me interested. Now, the question I have for you is how exactly do you know his sinker moves 2-8? I have never seen that trajectory for any sinker and just asking...
-
Great contribution to the thread. Congratulations on bringing your wisdom into the conversation. What do you think this thread is for? Just to say great job or also to bring up errors? Does Brandon Webb really throw a sinker with trajectory of left 2-8 :?:

KG, By the way, how come you didn't jump in to answer my question about Brandon Webb? It is just right above my post on Taveras. Three-year splits? OK, let's take a quick look at Hafner and A-Rod. Hafner: 2005-2007 had 68 homers against righties in 948 AB comes out to frequency of 13.94. A-Rod during same period had 109 homers against righties in 1338 AB with frequency of 12.28. Slugging numbers are also better for A-Rod. Now we can take a look at your ratings: A-Rod against righties has power of 91 same as Hafner and Hafner has Home Run rating of 11 while A-Rod has 10.
-
Well, sure is a shocker since he only played 97 games in 2007. Taveras is in no way an 87 contact against righties. What did he do without 2007? And, do you always use three-year splits?
-
Here is another winner: You have Willy Taveras of the Rockies with contact of 70 against lefties and, give me a drum roll, contact of 87 against righties!!! Look at his stats and splits and please tell me where you get this guy with contact over even 80 against righties: http://sports.espn.go.com/mlb/players/splits?playerId=5895

KG, You have Brandon Webb's sinker breaking left 2-8 (4-10 in MVPEdit) and is that correct?
-
Well, so far his "tools" are kind of lost, strikes out quite regularly, gets caught trying to steal, batting average is terrible. Are you going to change his weight to 235 pounds?
-
KG, You have Saltalamacchia at 195 pounds and both ESPN and MLB site have him at 235 pounds. Why is this guy rated awesome? He is not a good fielder or good hitter, not even hitting his weight as of today, and he is 23 years old.
-
I don't have any problem with KG's 5.2 Plus roster using Reboot version.
-
In the 5.2 roster, you have Shelley Duncan hitting to the opposite field against both lefties and righties: 20, 25, 55. Isn't Duncan a pull hitter?

Yes, and someone said all would be fine. I sent the author, Ty Wiggins, an e-mail days ago and not received a reply. Considering I donated for this program, I did expect to hear from the author even if all he could say is I don't know. Microsoft says the program is 16-bit and DOS-based and that's the reason it won't work in Vista 64-bit. I know it works in Vista 32-bit Ultimate, so I will either stay in x64 Vista Ultimate without the program or go back to Vista 32-bit Ultimate.
-
I am using Vista 64-bit Ultimate and can't install the program. I get this error message: "The application has failed to start because its side-by-side configuration is incorrect. Please see the application event log for more detail." The two requirements are installed, so what can I do to get this program installed? I extracted all the files to Documents, and when I click on MVP Editor the message above is what I get.

What version do you have of Vista, 32 or 64-bit?

I figured out how to get the Yankee games in just their folder without the other teams by using the old BSE, which gives me the options.
-
When you say after finishing the game, is that at the point where you select quit instead of Box Score? According to the readme, you are supposed to minimize after choosing Quit. When I do as instructed, I don't get any options because the BSE runs so fast and automatically puts the box score in a folder it named 2007, which is the year of my dynasty. Instead of having my team's folder along with folders for every other team I play against, is there a way to have it automatically put only my Yankee box scores in the folder?
-
If you want to field, leave fielding on manual and proceed as follows: Go into your controller configuration that is in My MVP/ My MVP Options on the screen before choosing to load a dynasty. Delete all the button commands for running, and that should force the CPU to move your runners automatically. You have a choice to change Defensive and Offensive button commands, but you need only delete the offensive buttons for running. You delete the buttons by double-clicking on the button command and choosing delete.

For you guys having a problem installing MVP 07, go to http://www.eamods.com/index.php and download and install MVP 07 Reboot using TiT. Just create a folder in Program Files like MVP 07, install TiT into that folder and use TiT to install The Reboot 07 version. Rios, if your runners don't advance it may be because you don't have auto-base running configured. Otherwise, you have to advance runners yourself. You can do auto-base running by deleting all the running options in your Controller configuration file within MVP options for your game pad.

Considering the kind of year Travis Hafner had in 2007, the question is if he should still be rated Awesome? And if his power ratings should be decreased?
-
Joba's fastball from what I've seen so far is mostly 98-99 mph. I haven't seen him throw a curve or change up yet, and I don't think he has so far as a reliever. I did hear the announcers say he has a quality curve and change up, and pretty sure they said he hasn't thrown either yet (as a reliever).
-
Why does the new 4.1 version download as 4.0 and roster is named 4.0?
-
I absolutely agree! You can go nuts trying to raise and lower ratings based on a partial season.
-
If having a good year boosts the rating, then those players having a bad year should have their rating adjusted as well. Personally, I don't believe in adjusting a rating based on a partial season, even one season for that matter. Look at Jorge Posada, want to make him awesome with much higher contact numbers?
