Potential Problem With 2K's Minor League Rosters
scottybilly replied to Hollywood70's topic in MLB 2K12
Dont forget that alot of those fake names (200+) are actually for real players, still active and retired. convert the retired players to whomever you wish. Some of those fake name players may be rookies/prospects that 2k cant legally add to their roster yet either. You can identify a real player with a fake name by mm/dd/yy, or just mm/dd with incorrect year listed, birthplace, height and/or weight, batting/throwing hand, position, jersey number, player rating, or the 1st initials of first and last name. Those are the criteria ive always used to identify a real player. Use the player search feature under frivolties/birthday at baseball-reference.com -
Use the one posted in the 2k10 download section here. Its pretty impressive. Just use modtool to import the textures 0, 1, and 3 over the textures of a current cyberface, preferably the face of an asian player bearing some resemblance to Darvish. Gotta use Blender to get texture #2 to be the same size as the 2k12 cyberface you chose and have Darvish's long hair as well.

Any cyberface mod of a player from MLB 2K10 and 2K11 can easily overwrite the cyberface of a player in this game. Just use the mod tool to export textures 0, 1, and 3 of any previous cyberface, then import those textures over the textures of the current 2k12 face. There is a size issue with texture 2 that can only be corrected with Blender it seems. Oh yeah, and you will need the 2k12 decompress tool over at moddingway to decompress the 2k12 cyberface before you can open it with the mod tool. Youre welcome :give_rose:

How about a whiffle ball with actual aero dynamics? That would be sweet!

I cant find a good base cyberface to do that one. The facial hair is simple enough though. Still teachin myself Photoshop. Too bad there isnt a way to change hair and eyes and headshape though. I really dont want to have to use Blender too. So far I have a decent Brandon Crawford, an update for B. Belt and Sandoval with dif. facial hair, Vogelsong, E. Whiteside, J. Lopez. I'm Currently workin on C. Hensley, a Theriot update, a Zito with mustache. DetroitStyle, can you import the Lincecum, Wilson, and Romo from 2k11 somehow? I see you transferred most of yours from 2k11 already. Thanks

Is it just me, or are their fewer players in general in this game? Fake and real.

Awesome job. Now if only 2k gave us a larger variety of baseball bat options besides color.

Nice job. I see Baltimore will have a Camden Yards anniversary patch on their uniforms as well.

Glad to hear that you will be posting roster updates again this season. I have a 2012 roster (franchise file) based off your final roster update from last season for 2k11. It has every major/ and minor transaction as well as the major int'l FA signings. I can email it to you if you want to use it for a starting point and maybe cut down on the number of updates that you need to post.

Ive been teaching myself Photoshop for the last couple of months and have managed to crack out a few decent cyberfaces on 2k11, so I may have a go at cyberfaces for 2k12. I also figured out how to mod equipment, uniforms, and stadium ads, but I am thoroughly impressed by the work that the notable modders have done, so I wont try to compete. lol Also I have a 2012 current roster file on mlb2k11 that I update everyday since the end of last season. Its based off of BSU-FANs final roster update for 2k11, with a few equipment changes(Giants) and CAPs for the more notable int'l free agent signings. I'm happy to share this as a base for anybody that will be posting roster updates throughout the season. I don't expect 2k sports to have accurate rosters anyways

probably 2-3 months after initial release just like last year.
