  1. Remember jason heyward...the slump is coming :-P
  2. Still getting freezes in Season mode after 16 games. This time it froze when using the schedule updater as well. Not sure what's causing it...
  3. Just wanted to recommend taking a closer look at Quintin Berry (Tigers). He's on fire this year batting .290 and has a high OBP. He's also 14/14 in stolen bases. If it weren't for Trout and Harper he'd be in the running for ROY.

My very first mod! I'll do a larger portrait pack later on but this is just a test to see if any improvements need to be made. Use the TiT to install the portrait. It's #0482

  6. NVM, I figured out how to use NFSH tool and looked at Dennis's portrait. So now I have a guide to go by.

    Text Edit

Yes, but the caveat is that we don't know how. It can be done in NBA 2K and with Redditor...however it doesn't translate well to MLB. I fooled around with a hex editor last year and found a way to change the names in a roster but everytime I tried to launch the game it would crash.
  8. I've got everything down when making portraits. I've used the portrait maker, found the correct sizes and file types to save them as, and have successfully imported them into the game. However, coming from 2K the photoshop process is quite different. In 2K, when you edit a portrait in photoshop it will look exactly the same in game. When I did this for MVP the face ended up looking extremely thin and distorted. It wasn't until I stretched it out a ridiculous amount that it showed up just o.k. in game. I was wondering what the trick is in aligning the portrait on the 256x256 canvas? Also, it would help a bunch if DennisJames or someone just tossed a raw .bmp my way that they used to put into the game so I can see how a good alignment looks (such as Dennis's Ichiro). Thanks.
  9. I noticed that the Marlins default Home/Away uniforms and the Rays default Home/Away uniforms are old and incorrect. You notice this when using the edit player screen. Doesn't really matter in game as you can change the uniforms but I was wondering if this could be corrected? Also, are the schedules supposed to trick the game into thinking it's the 2012 season or would that cause a crash in season mode? I ask because the rosters (default and daflyboys) have the correct birthdays for players but the game recognizes it as 2005 still. Thus players are much much younger than the real 2012 season. Is it possible to edit birthdays to retract 7 years? Thus instead of Porcello being born in 1988 you could change his birthday to 1981 which would show him as being 23 in game? If it is possible, I'd be willing to help to do so...
  10. Sure, I'll give it a try. I'll see if I can pull a small pack together and we'll see how it turns out...
  11. I don't have the original .dds files anymore. Use the mod tool and just export them from the .iff. If you want to know the numbers check out the Modding guide Pena did which lists the numbers. Be sure to look at the replies in that thread as it contains a few updates.
  12. So I've been pretty frustrated with 2K this year and last. The only thing really keeping me playing is the modding which I was starting to lose interest in since I couldn't even play the game with all the bugs. I picked up MVP the other day and said, meh what the hell why not. Why not indeed.... I've been tinkering with it for a bit now, both vanilla and TC12. PHENOMENAL! I played a very little bit of MVP back in the day and remember downloading a few mods. I remember two things: TC94 (Took over one summer of mine) and Krawitham Radio (still the best soundtracks in a game). Anyway, although the game is clearly outdated, I've found a lot of fun to be had using it as a text-sim (i.e. OOTP or Baseball Mogul) with gameplay coming second. I've been simming tons of seasons (with vanilla MVP) and tried out the progression mod and it looks great! I got tired of all the budget issues, free agent problems, and stat issues with 2K so I'm pleasantly surprised to see the old dog looking much better! Lastly, if this doesn't turn out to be a honeymoon period with MVP I'd really like to get into modding for it. I'm going to spend most of the day tomorrow reading up on the FAQ and getting used to the different editors and tools. I'd also love to help with any new patches for the TC12 mod. So let me know if there are any interesting projects worth taking up. In the meantime this is me trying to mod MVP:
  13. Using 4.5B (non reliever) I got a crash in season mode about 15 games in. Well, not a crash but it froze. Also, I'm way way way late to the party with MVP but ages are out of whack. Is this something that can be fixed in MVPEdit or is it a specific limitation of the game. I just "lol's" at Porcello being 16. Edit: I should probably mention this was done in the 12 TC mod and I was using the Tigers. When starting the season mode I selected "yes" to the use default rosters option. Not sure if that matters or not...

  16. Isn't theo epstein jewish? That makes the church excuse even more bizarre...
  17. I saw your stadium mod (good job btw) and I want to know one thing, where did you get this?
  18. I've posted this before, but if you only have one roster, the game will always overwrite it. You need to have two rosters and need to rename the one with modifications. I have two; one named Roster that always gets overwritten by updates, and one named FranchiseRoster that has all my mods applied to it. That should do the trick for ya. The only other thing you need to do is load it up when the game starts because it will load 'roster' by default.
  19. No, the color cant be changed unless you can find the hex number for it, if it even has one.

  22. I find the hardest thing to mod are the sides of beards. You can get the front of a beard just right by grabbing a high quality shot, but the sides of beards are hard to line up to look good.
