  1. Apposite to Kccitystar releasing the Mariners' unis I completed the Mariners a few moments ago. The new BETA version will go online within a few minutes. The Mariners get the first three 5-stars prospects with Hultzen, Walker and Zunino As always I corrected a few typos and made the transactions that happened since my last update. Any wishes regarding which team to pick up next? First one wins. And another question. Do you think I should continue editing whole franchises first and then switch to another or should I first only do the 40 man rosters and include some top prospects and leave the rest of the minor leaguers with unreal players and update minor leaguers later? It is all about what you prefer.
  2. Sorry I read over it by accident. With my version of Reditor I can't edit the managers. But I think it is possible with the Guru version? Maybe I buy it later. I first want to keep up track with the players since the players are the ones you play with. But later I will look into coaches as well. One thing after another. :)
  3. That's complete BS in my opinion. Very bad job by 2k sports... Here you can see a table of pitchers using the curve including the % of use: - Starters http://www.fangraphs...ers=0&sort=11,d - Relievers http://www.fangraphs...lter=&players=0 Maybe someone wants to test it ingame. I gonna leave it as it is I think. I gonna go on with editing the Mariners. You could be right and that could be the explanation why 2k assigned pitches to pitchers they do not throw in reality. I do not remember any special names but I remember that I was editing pitchers in the last few weeks that had gotten pitches by 2k which I have never seen them throwing in reality. That would really be bad programming... Maybe I should assign at least three pitches to every pitcher? Don't know - would be no biggie since most already have at least 3.
  4. Hm I thought that not the pitch count itself had an effect but the % of thrown pitches? But I do not know, nobody of us has an indepth-look into the game-engine. Honestly I do not remember if I threw more strikes or more balls. No idea to be honest. Didn't pay attention because I didn't know that this could have an effect. But when it happens on Xbox, too, then this should be the final proof that it is caused by 2k's engine and not by me. I also think that it would not make much sense if this was intended to work this way. When you can set up certain percentages then every pitch percentage should count the same, shouldn't it? Why should a FB pct of 45 work in another way than a CB pct of 45? As far as it seems to me I can say that CBs are somehow rated stricter than other pitches regarding getting yellow or red. I do not understand why a slider with a lower pct should get back to green quicker than a CB with a higher usage pct? I do not understand this. To be honest I did not notice this flaw before, too. And I also played a sh...load of games before getting to the roster edits. But like you I wonder if we simply didn't realize it and didn't throw enough CBs. That also could be a reason why you noticed it with Scheppers, Lindblom and Nathan. Those three are all RPs and besides closers (Nathan being one) the most RPs are only used against batters that have the same batting side like the pitchers throwing arm. That means a right handed RP is mainly used against right handed batters. But the CB is mostly used against opposite batting batters. So RPs do not use the CB too often. Maybe that is why we didn't really see the issue before? But I definately would call it a flaw. This is too strange to be meant intended. 1. Did you have the problems with Darvish using my roster or only using the original 2k roster? Did the pitches stay red all the time or get back to yellow/green? 2. No problem. ;)
  5. What the heck is going on...I don't know why but I simply thought of testing my roster another time. I took Nathan one more time. First 4 pitches were all CBs, CB got yellow. Then I threw a FB, CB stayed yellow. Then I threw another CB and CB turned red (5 of 6 pitches were CBs). Then I did not throw any more CBs. After pitch 22 the CB turned yellow and after pitch 29 it turned even green. Why is it working now but wasn't working before? This thing gets stranger and stranger... In a test scenario before I had thrown over 30 pitches and the CB was still red. Why does it yellow at 22 and green at 29 now? Maybe I upset the apple cart and I was hysterical too early and all is working (maybe a little bit sloppy). Tomorrow I gonna finish the Mariners franchise and release the next beta.
  6. I am currently testing the roster of the end of July. I have Nathan in for the Rangers. I threw 4 Curveballs to start the game. The CB got yellow. Meanwhile I am at the 15 pitch mark and have not thrown a Curveball since. In the mean time the Slider and Fastball both were yellow and both went back to green. But the curveball doesn't. It stays yellow. 23 pitches and it goes green again. So the last working roster must have been released somewhere between July and October.
  7. No clue. I downloaded all latest official roster versions they have on 2k share from the one of 29th of Oct to the one of 2nd of Oct to test it and every version I tested had this flaw.
  8. I can not edit every pitcher from a new...the problem does not only affect Darvish, it affects EVERY pitcher who has a curveball. Darvish has no past seasons since last year was his first in the majors.
  9. I did some further testing and now it seems that after some pitches every pitcher seems to be affected as long as he has a CB and you throw it often enough. Strange thing: I tested Wainwright and got his Curve red in the 1st inning and supersimmed the game until the 4th and now his pitch was green again.
  10. I don't think that BSU-Fan can suggest anything on that since he used the first roster 2k released as a base (AFAIK) and I used the last (since there are many new players already ingame that I had not to create then). What I realized is that the curveball goes back from yellow to green as long as you start throwing other pitches while the CB is yellow. But when it is red you won't ever be able to get it back to yellow or green. I tested David Robertson (Yankees) one moment ago and he got the same problem. Joel Peralta (Tampa) shows the red CB, too. I tested also Phil Hughes (Yankees) same problem with his knuckler. It seems that a bunch of pitchers is affected and if I do not find a workaround I am done. Sorry. But I don't want to put so much work into a project that can't be enjoyed to the fullest. You got the bug with the cutoff-man not throwing, the terrible use of the bullpen which are old known problems, and now the CBs staying red and many other completely illogical things. I am really upset right now. I don't want to play a game where you can't throw Curves anymore. I wasn't aware of this bug since I was only using BSU-Fan's roster all the time. And he based his roster of a very early or even the first version of 2k's roster where the bug wasn't happening.
  11. That's not your fault, Sabugo. No need to be sorry. But I really wonder what the heck 2k was doing with their rosters. Why do the curveballs work fine in the early roster updates and why don't they work fine in the later updates? And why are only certain pitchers affected while others are not? And why only the curveballs and no other pitches? Like I said it is clearly not my fault (unlike the typos I did make ). I can not understand something like that. Don't they test anything before releasing it? This game could be so good... So damn strange...and especially silly!
  12. I tried to fix the problem with copying the new data from my roster and pasting it via Reditor into the first offical 2k roster (where the problem didn't occur). But it crashes. Damn.
  13. The strange thing is that only certain pitchers are affected by this bug. I tried out Affeldt in my roster (which was based on the latest 2k roster) and his Curve didn't have this error.
  14. I tested Scheppers and Lindblom and their CBs got red and didn't turn yellow/green again. After that I looked into the pitch percentages and they were fine. Next I took Sean Burnett and Ernesto Frieri (Angels) and tested both. I threw Changeups and Sliders with Frieri and Changeups with Burnett until those pitches got red (happened quite fast, no high use of those pitches for both in reality and I put in those percentages into the game) and after throwing other pitches the CB was still staying red. But after Sean Burnett's 22nd pitch the Changeup turned yellow again and after 31 pitches green. Then I threw another changeup. It got yellow. After pitch 38 the changeup got green again. And after Frieri's 27th pitch the Slider and Changeup turned yellow again, too. So I expect something quite similar to Sean Burnett. To put it in a nutshell it seems to be a problem of how the game calculates the pitches being green/yellow/red. E.g. Sean Burnett has a Changeup pct. of 11% (1 pitch out of 10 he throws a Change). He uses his Sinker 63% (6 pitches out of 10 he throws a Sinker) and his Slider 26% (3 pitches out of 10 he throws a Slider). So when you throw the Changeup at the beginning of Burnett's stint (and I think this counts analog for all the other pitchers) 3 or 4 times out of 5 you have usage of his changeup that is way higher than in reality and that is because it gets red so fast. And when you have thrown it 3 or 4 times it still was used (when you calculate it) over 11% of the time, even when you have thrown 15 pitches overall (15 pitches overall divided by 4 Changeups means that every 4th pitch was a Changeup --> but only 1 pitch out of 10 should be a changeup compared to the percentage of use). I can't exactly tell why the Changeup got yellow after 22 pitches. But as far as I do not make any mistakes after 22 pitches the usage of the Changeup (we have thrown it 4 times) drops below 20%, And after 31 pitches the 4 times used changeup is nearly at 11% again. So I think this must be somehow a "flaw" (I wouldn't even call it flaw because it's only maths) caused by the game and not by me. But regardind Curveballs there must be another flaw. I do not know what causes it. When Curveballs are involved they stay yellow or red all the time Curveballs seem to be different. Why? I don't know. I threw 3 CBs with Scheppers --> red. I threw 3 Changeups with Scheppers --> both Change and CB red. Next I threw a FB --> CB stays red, Change turns green??? I also altered the % of usage for the Rangers BP-CB-throwers and the speed, I changed the "slot" of their pitches in the editor. No chance. EDIT: I downloaded the latest official 2k roster and one that was released miday through the season. The problem regarding Curveballs and relievers did already exist (I tested Lindblom and Nathan with both rosters). So it is clearly a problem caused by 2k's game engine or their last roster update which I used as a baseroster and I will not be able to fix this problem. Damn. I never realized this flaw. This is so ugly. But in the very first roster (I did not try any other rosters) the problem did not exist. I tried Affeldt, Juan Abreu (then CL of the Astros), Nathan and after their CBs turned red they turned yellow and green again. Got to find a way to work around that somehow. Man, 2k you suckers. Thanks, I think I somehow forgot to change the Braves' numbers. Will do it in my next update.
  15. I am not at home now, maybe it was a typo for the % of CBs Gonna check this out tomorrow morning. But I never saw something happen like that.
  16. When those problems can't be erased I do not think that I want to risk bringing the schedule in my roster.
  17. Ok then maybe it is caused by the fact that Darvish mixes up his pitches so much and that the game can't really deal with that. Maybe it is not programmed for that. I think I had something like that happen with another pitcher. Perhaps I gonna tweak Darvish's pitches a little bit. It's not too difficult. I gonna quote BSU-Fan for this: After that you can load my roster ingame. Maybe I should give the install description along with my roster in the Readme.
  18. I got a little present for the weekend for you. I finished the Rangers franchise a few minutes ago (contracts, service time for MLB and 40 man roster, edited ratings for 40 man roster and some top prospects + all other minor leaguers have real names, real positions and real skin tones as far as possible). Will be only within a few minutes.
  19. Yap I get the error as well.
  20. Yeah, Ubaldo really likes to throw balls. Regarding Darvish: did his pitches get yellow and green again after they were red? There was this problem with certain pitchers in the 2k original roster where the pitches got red and then stayed red all game long for some pitchers. I remember Darvish being one and e.g. Jarrod Parker another one. If they stayed red for Darvish I gonna workaround this. The other possibility would be that the game engine causes his pitches to get red quickly. Darvish is a pitcher who mixes pitches very very much. But as I said you should get different results like me. One game a slugfest, the other game only a few hits n runs. Key is to stay patient at the plate. But that is the biggest problem for me... Thanks for your feedback!
  21. What I learned from testing: - editing too many players ingame causes the "bug" - editing too many names of players in Ty's editor causes the "bug" - doing transactions or lineup changes ingame does not cause the "bug" - editing players in Ty's editor without changing their names does not cause the "bug" - everything in Reditor does not cause the "bug" So I know what I have to do from now on!
  22. I tested it out and you were right, sask3m. When you edit "too many" (no clue how many exactly) players ingame and then open Reditor you get empty lines. The problem is that when you reach this particular number not only one name is affected. So it can be that you edit some names ingame, save it and then you open Reditor, you see the empty lines, you correct it, save it and they show up ingame again. But when you edit new names ingame then not only those new names are affected, but also those names, that have been empty before. So you get accumulation after accumulation and that is not funny since that means that every time you safe something ingame you have to correct all names using an editor. I think I won't edit anything ingame from now on and hope working only with Reditor and Ty's editor helps.
  23. Strange...Maybe I will do now all edits in reditor only although I like the interface of Ty's editor more to be honest.
  24. Maybe they have done it but did it crash? And what are the benefits of it? E.g. schedules?
  25. It seems that when I only work in Reditor the problem does not occur. But when I start editing names and so on ingame or in Ty's editor and then try to edit things in Reditor again it screws up. @Sabugo: Thank you! Feel free to adjust the sliders to your likings. I had a slugfest yesterday, too. Played the Rockies vs. the Pirates and I bombed Wandy Rodriguez out of Coors Field. He was pulled after 1.2 innings...Won the game 11-5 on 17 hits. Then today played another game with the Rockies against the Dodgers. Couldn't hit anything against Greinke and ended up scoring 2 runs on 4 hits the whole game lol.
