Would it be possible to change the Airflow batting helmet model to the new(er) carbon-fiber Rawlings S100 the MLB adopted this year? If so, is anyone with the modeling skill willing to take on the challenge?

It's rare that the person who buys something of great value to the owner treats it as well as the original owner did. That's kind of how I feel things have gone since Kush disbanded and development was passed to its parent, VC. And it's not as if VC didn't try to give us a better and better game each year - it did. But I don't feel as though the game was treated with the same levels of responsibility and passion as it may have been should the original Kush team decided to continue working on its creations. I often wonder if any members of development team at VC are embarrassed by the buggy products they've taken part in creating. I know 2KSports/Take-Two doesn't care... Publishers and parent companies are pretty much just bean counters. And with the nearly endless influx of Rockstar-generated revenue, all the 2K division has to do is break even.

Launch the game, log into 2KShare, and it's there in the Downloads... Roster 2012-10-29. -
Using Beyondo and changing the date to 9/30/12 (as I have been since mid-October) lets me launch and play. I was also able to log into 2K Share, launch Today mode, and download and sync the Living Roster crap.

KC, if you need a frame of reference for some, you may want to take a look at the stadium mods Micropterus58 did for MLB2K10. He did 5 MiLB parks, and they were all nice. His Dr. Pepper stadium definitely stood out among them.

Not to sound like a "Negative-Nancy," but I don't think it's a big deal the game shows the present date - it did so throughout the season, and even did so during the post-season upon downloading the Living Roster and allowing the game to synchronize. The 2012 season is over, so the date shown doesn't really matter at all. Now, if I could launch the game without having to change my system's date and play a patched, bug-free game, that would be something to get excited about. Mercy. While many of us may share your hope, I think 2KGames/2KSports (or perhaps Visual Concepts) has shown it likely has every intention to completely abandon PC development of 2KSports titles. Even the NBA2K series is showing signs of abandonment with the 2K13 PC version lacking numerous features the console versions received. Whether the gradual decline in sales numbers for sports games released for PC is a direct result of generally bad games, poor post-launch product support, awful or a complete lack of direct PC marketing, or a general lack of PC-specific interest in sports games as a whole is debatable. I believe PC-specific interest is there, but game publishing companies seem to be overrun with "bean-counter" administrators, who, upon seeing any decline in sales, explore harsh cut-backs and/or cancellation instead of seeking solutions to the cause(s) of sales decline. Fact: it's often far easier (cheaper) to cancel something than it is to fix it. I believe PC gamers view gaming titles with a greater level of scrutiny (in general) than console gamers. When a PC game shows shortcomings, PC gamers rarely sugarcoat their reports about them, and a game's success potential can waver severely. Basic market research has shown that each person a company pleases will tell only one other person about that experience. However, for each person a company displeases, that person will tell as many as ten others about the disappointing experience. PC gamers expect their higher-performing hardware to deliver a better overall gaming experience than a console can provide. While 2K has never done anything to specifically promote the PC versions of their titles, other companies have begun to increasingly tout the increased level of detail and greater resolution capabilities of the PC versions of their cross-platform titles, with some of them offering PC-only features/extras. As a result of ignoring trends and expectations, any failure of a 2KSports title on the PC lies entirely with 2KSports itself. 2KGames' PC titles are very successful overall, yet 2KSports' PC releases are not.

It seems to be a lazy copy/paste (no surprise there) of the contest rules from the last 3 years. Even when the game was available on PC (and Wii for that matter), only 360 and PS3 entries were eligible.

I suppose you could use Ty's Roster Editor to open a roster and view the portrait and cyberface ID numbers assigned to each player.

Technically, it depends on the roster selection made when prompted to select either "Use current roster" or "Use default roster" when you begin the franchise. Selecting the "current" roster will use whatever roster is loaded at the time, be it the Living Roster, one of the rosters 2K released during the season, or a user-created custom roster (such as BSUFan's NoFakeNames). Selecting "default" roster will use the roster that was included in the game when it was first released last March. You can use any roster you choose to by simply loading that roster (Nav Menu>Options>Load/Save>Load>%RosterFile%) before starting the Franchise game (also applies to My Player games) and selecting "Use current roster" when prompted.

And there's the cause -- weak integrated graphics. Using the in-game benchmark, my AMD Fusion laptop (quad-core A8-3500M w/ integrated 6620G) can put up 50+ fps at the screen's native 1366x768 resolution all day long, but only because I customized the detail settings. I suggest you do the same. Start by turning Depth of Field and Anti-Aliasing (MSAA) off. Particle Effects showed no impact on performance for me, so you may be able to leave it on. Try it both On and Off, but only after additional adjustments. All remaining settings should be medium or low, with one exception: Anisotropic Filtering (AF). My integrated graphics is a bit more powerful than your Intel graphics, so I can actually use medium AF and still get solid performance. You may actually want to turn it off so the game defaults to Tri-linear filtering. Just run the benchmark after each adjustment (some will require exiting the game and restarting) and try to get it to put up figures in the 50+ range steadily. If it somehow can't manage to break 50fps no matter how low you set the detail levels, then you'll have to consider lowering the resolution to a level below the screen's native resolution.

I agree with everything you've said, and I honestly wish I could stop at 6 complaints. I had more than 30 of my own in the "Feedback (for future patch)" thread on 2K's forum before I gave up listing problems I found within this game.

I see 2K's latest official roster is still the 4-13 one... That's pretty pathetic.

You don't need to be given the Sac bunt goal in order to actually bunt. You control your player, so use your own discretion and bunt when you feel you should. Try performing a bunt when there's a runner on-base and less-than 2 outs, but only when you have goals like Don't strike out, Move the runner(s) over, or Get ahead in the count. Don't do it when you have goals like Get a base-hit, Drive in the run(s), or other goals which require hits/getting on base unless you wish to waste the opportunity to get the goal's points.

I haven't experienced that problem with my F310, but my desktop is running Vista-64, not Win7. My F310 has been in X-input mode since purchased, and has functioned without issue. I never installed the Logitech profile software, though. Programmable software like that isn't necessary unless a game doesn't natively support controllers.

Like I said, I've seen it shown, but I can't remember where... I played 2k10, but I didn't play 2k11, so it had to have appeared somewhere within 2k12. And I know I saw it and actually tried to get one of my My Player characters to perform it, but it didn't work. I, of course, assumed that it just didn't freaking work, like a lot of other things in this game. It might be a control one can only find while on-base in My Player. I went into one of my My Player careers to see if it was shown in the controls there, but it wasn't. I'd play a game and check controls while at-bat and on-base, but I've grown so frustrated by bugs and annoyances in this damned game that I haven't been able to bring myself to play at all for about a week now. I only fire-up 2k12 to check for roster updates, which have been non-existent for weeks now (barring the two which 2K pulled soon after posting them). I simply prefer to play something I actually enjoy. Not that I mean to complain... I've just grown tired of this game's inconsistencies and actual bugs. Hopefully, a patch will do away with those things and make this a game I can enjoy. -
Running Over/into Catcher On Logitech Dual Analog?

I know I've seen this particular control within the game at least once before under the Base-running controls, but it's nowhere to be found when I navigate to Control Setup from the Home screen. Strangely, it could be a mode-specific control. What I mean is, that particular control option may only be found within certain game modes, like My Player, Franchise, or maybe both. (I just checked MP mode -- it wasn't shown there while I was at-bat.) Regardless of it being mode-specific or not, it would have to be either button B or button Y on Xbox-styled controllers because A and X are already mapped to Select Runner and Slide, respectively. So, "Run-over Catcher" would have to be button 3 (B on Xbox) or button 4 (Y on Xbox) on older Logitech (and Saitek) controllers. If you want to view one for reference, there are MLB2K12 manuals available. Unfortunately, they're all console manuals. Apparently there is no PC manual, but the Xbox-360 is the closest one to a potential PC manual. You can find them here: http://2ksports.com/manual/mlb2k12/ You'll note that nowhere within any of those manuals is the control "Run-over Catcher" found... Yeah, it's strange, because I have seen it within the game before. I just don't know where... Also, you can just navigate to Options > My Controller > Control Setup and view all the controls for hitting, pitching, fielding, and base-running by cycling the right/left triggers... Doing so would have shown you which button controls Wall Climb.
