Anyone Going To Post A Mlb2K12 Franchise This Year?
RazberyBandit replied to Griz891's topic in Franchises
One guy is doing it on 2K's forum for his Orioles franchise. https://www.2ksports.com/forums/showthread.php?t=318966 It's actually been pretty good so far. -
My Mlb 2K12 Stuck In Career Mode In Game 20 Of Season Two
RazberyBandit replied to chachi's topic in Support
Utilizado Google Translate. Lo siento si no es perfecto español. Hola. Esto puede suceder cuando se complete toda la llamada a los objetivos antes de completar el juego número 20. Si juega 20 partidos y luego añadir puntos de habilidad para completar los objetivos, que debería funcionar correctamente y promover a las Grandes Ligas. -
deafvader: No. This mod doesn't contain a Home uniform for the Tigers. It only has the Away and Batting Practice (both Home & Away) uniforms. Just remember that in order to actually enjoy all the modded uniforms DS provides here, you will have to follow the instructions for importing the Color.txt file into your Roster(s). DS Please have a look at my comments in the "Uniform Correction Thread" in regard to Phillies (and Nationals) socks appearing a little on the 'pink' side.

LOL. Fielding bugs are hilarious sometimes. I saw a great one, but forgot to record it as a replay. I had runners on 1st and 2nd and nailed a sharp grounder up the middle. The runners broke and the 2nd-baseman dove and got the ball. He quick-flipped it to the SS to try and start a double-play, but the SS stopped just short of the bag and stood there, holding the ball, apparently amazed the 2nd-baseman made the stop and threw him the ball... Everyone was safe. I stopped and just laughed for a solid minute watching the SS turn his head from side-to-side in the replay. I really wish I had saved that one... Lemme attach a couple good ones I did save here. Unzip them, pop 'em into your MLB2K12 Saves folder, and use the Load function to view them. Saved Replays.rar

DS, it could just be me since I do suffer from some red/green colorblind deficiency, but the Phillies' socks look a little on the 'pinkish' side of the proper shade of the red/burgundy that is Team Color 1. I just downloaded Version 15 of your unis, and it contains no Phillies uniforms, so you haven't modified theirs. This could be just a small detail that you've missed, or perhaps a change in the Color.txt (which I have imported using Ty's) in your efforts to correct another team's uniform caused an adverse effect on the Phillies' socks. To see the socks, edit a player wearing High or High Stirrup pants, such as Pence, Blanton, or Pierre. If they're wearing proper Team Color 1 shoes, it's easy to see a difference between the shoes and socks. Of course, as I said, it could just be me. (And it's a minor detail...) [Edit: Seems there may be a similar situation with the Nationals unis, which is a team you've updated.] And if I may disagree with mvp23, I actually think the Angel's red needs to be a bit brighter so it's more of a red-orange color.

Any No Fake Name Rosters Out There Yet?

I understand that view very well, bigperm, I mean bigworm. =) It's actually a part of the internal debate I had within myself upon posting the official Opening Day roster. The full impact of that upload didn't hit me until after I had done it. As I explained afterward, I got to thinking about how such an upload could be seen as support for piracy, inadvertently or otherwise. That's an unfortunate reality, and it's not a view I at all anticipated might be aimed in my direction. While player-created or modified rosters may have their beginnings as an official one, they're never a perfect copy of the original. For me, that's the heart of the issue -- the posting of the original, official rosters. Official 2K rosters are only supposed to be available through the game's 2K Share function. I'm fairly certain that anyone can plainly see 2K's logic behind that method is in itself completely flawed. In the end, a file is just a file, and any file can easily be copied and shared through other means. Still, I have some regrets about posting one. I'm not saying no one should be able to upload rosters. What kind of mod-site user/supporter would I be if I did that? Talk about an exercise in futility... LOL What I'm suggesting is that perhaps the site may wish to leave official ones alone from now on, and instead only allow the truly creative roster editors/creators/modifiers (such as BSU-Fan) to work their magic and post their work. [Edit: Looks like 2K has another new Roster... 2K Share shows a 4/13/2012 roster.]

As I explained above, I've changed my viewpoint regarding the upload of official rosters here. I wish a site admin would step in and pass an official ruling on it, though. You say you purchased it online, so contact the vendor from whom you purchased it and get the key, or follow these steps if you purchased it from Amazon or Steam. If it was purchased at Amazon, game keys are stored in your account's "Your games and software library" sub-section of the "Digital Content" section. Access it by logging in and viewing "Your Account" then scrolling down to the "Digital Content" section and clicking "Your games and software library." A new page will open and show you all your games and their CD-Keys. If it was purchased through Steam, Right-Click MLB2K12 on your Games List and select "View game CD key" to see it. Neither Gamersgate nor Gamefly/Direct2drive has MLB 2K12 for the PC, and the only other "download" source other than Amazon and Steam I'm aware of is Gamestop. (I don't remember Gamestop's key-retrieval method--been 4 years since I used it--but I know they have one similar to Amazon's.) If you didn't get it from one of these three vendors, where did you get it?

Update: deafvader, I've added this bug to my running list on 2K's forum in their "Feedback Thread (For Future Patch)" thread. It's my #30 complaint on the 2nd page of my list, post #345 here: https://www.2ksports.com/forums/showpost.php?p=3644118&postcount=345 My first list, post 306, reached the forum's 10K character list: https://www.2ksports.com/forums/showpost.php?p=3642482&postcount=306 If you read over them, you'll see I've got quite a few minor and a few major issues listed. So does a user named "kevdood" on the very first page of that thread. Honestly, with all the valid complaints found within that thread, it truly amazes me how this game managed to get beyond an internal alpha or beta testing stage. I mean, who the Hell was testing it, 4-year-olds?

I'm half-tempted to start a Franchise on my laptop and sim all the games up to Draft day just to see what happens when the draft takes place... And you know what? I will do that, but not today. Perhaps tonight or tomorrow. I'll let you know what happens when I do, though.

Hey. No offense taken. I apologize if the remarks in my post conveyed any sense of hostility. I was a bit blunt and less-than-tactful in some parts, so I'm sorry for that. I share your hope that 2K gets up off its butt and churns out a truly amazing baseball game. Unfortunately, if we baseball-loving consumers keep buying whatever they're selling because 2K's got the only shop in town, all we'll have is hope...empty hope. Getting back to the primary topic--2K's support. Call them back and talk to someone else. You might even want to immediately ask them to escalate you to a higher level of support right away. Explain to them that you were able to play through the entire Spring Training and half the regular season up until the Draft without issue. Hell. Direct them here to see my testimony that this game runs perfectly fine on a $500 Gateway laptop. The key argument I would probably make if I were you is that the game runs beautifully, but with one exception--a single event--the Draft in Franchise mode. Again explain how many baseball games you played in your Franchise game. Again tell them everything worked great until the Draft took place. Tell them you believe the Draft event triggered the crash. Ask them if there could be a potential bug...that perhaps whatever special functions or resources the game calls upon for that specific event might be causing the crash. Don't argue with whomever you speak, but don't back down, either. Be firm, but cooperative. If I dare speculate, I wouldn't doubt that a crash during the draft event could be related to the fact that the game has to generate X amount of players specifically for it. There just might be an issue with the player/name generator coding in the game. How something like that could make it past an alpha stage test is beyond me...

Minor leagues start the same time as MLB, Mcoll. And yeah Straw, most minor-leaguers are fake, but the data for some of these fake players actually matches up with, or very closely to, some real-life players. (As mcoll mentioned.) In the game, Triple-A teams will have many real players, all of which played at least one game in the MLB the year before. Double-A might have a very small handful of real players, but Single-A will have none at all. That's just how it is since 2K's license with the MLB requires a player to have played at the MLB level the previous year in order to be included in the game. Take a real-life player like Kevin Frandsen. Maybe you've heard of him? He's played at the MLB level before, and he's playing for the Lehigh Valley Iron Pigs (Phillies Triple-A) this year. But, because he didn't play a single game at the MLB level last year, he can't be in the game. The same thing applies to several other current, real-life minor league players.

Well, I just had a sicker game than before and you're absolutely correct, but it only applies after the game is over. While a game is being played, the box score has no limitations. After a game is done and you go back to look at the Box Score on the Schedule screen, the problems you've cited will occur. I had a 19-RBI game, and during the game the Box Score worked fine. After the game I went back and checked the Box Score again, and it was indeed capped at 15-RBIs. I only scored 7 times, though. Getting another at-bat and scoring would have required some luck, but we also would have needed to be the road team, not the home team.

I'm with you, Rick. I don't think it's hardware-related, either. Many people have complained about in-game special events, such as the Draft, getting called-up or having a Clutch Moment in My Player, moving onto a new season in Franchise, and other such events causing the game to crash. To make things worse, sometimes that crash totally corrupts the save-game file. As for the hardware-related advice I offered, I was trying to help you ensure your system is not at fault with absolute certainty. Take or leave it. And the Phenom 9100e is actually a 4-year old CPU model. Your PC might be 3-years old, but the CPU in it was originally released a full 4 years ago.
-
I meant what specific Role type did you choose during player creation. All-Around, Contact, Speedster, Slugger, Team Leader, Clutch, Utility...
-
Hmm... 9100e huh? I think those were low-power mobile chip derivatives as far as the overall design is concerned. It is a pretty weak CPU, but I don't believe it incapable of handling 2K's games. It's more powerful than the crap MS threw inside the Xbox... LOL Interesting to see DirectX 11 version... What video card did you add to that system? I ask because if there's a DX11-capable card in it, you may still need to install the Microsoft Platform Update for Vista to actually get DX11 capabilities. (Edit: had comment about needing SP2 first, but re-read above and saw you have it.) And DX crashed during a DirectSound test? Are you using on-board audio? If so, do you know what audio chipset it is? I ask because I'd definitely recommend looking for an audio driver update if the system can't pass a basic DXDiag DirectSound test. (Most on-board audio is one of several Realtek HD Audio processor models, and they use a unified driver.) You can try to find drivers at Gateway's support site (if you know the system's model number) here: http://support.gatew...ct/default.aspx Unfortunately, it's possible the system is old enough to no longer be supported. If that's the case, we might have to go directly to chip manufacturers (like Realtek, Broadcom, VIA, CMedia, etc.) to get device driver updates. P.S. These are the kinds of things a REAL tech support agent should talk to people about... LOL

LMFAO @ 2K Tech Support. The tech who told you that was completely full of ****. He (or his co-workers) found a bullshit excuse to make a repeatable game crash your fault rather than admit the game has some bugs which can cause both game crashes AND system crashes. For the record, this game runs smooth as butter on my freaking laptop. It's a Gateway NV55S22 with a 1.6GHz AMD A8-3500M Llano Fusion APU in it, the 6620G built-in GPU, and 6GB RAM. I can manage 80+ FPS in the Benchmark using medium settings. (Med Settings = AA Off, High Shaders, Med EVERYTHING else, Particles On, DoF off) At the same settings with 4x AA on, my lappy can put up 50+ FPS figures in that benchmark all day long. (Monitor = 1366x768) The only time I see any performance-related slow downs is when a ball's hit foul or along the foul lines, and during hit-related transitions, such as from Pitching to Fielding, or Hitting to Running. And FFS... The GHz race ENDED with the Pentium 4! Unless someone is actually using a single-core CPU, any dual-core in the 2GHz range and up can handle this game, including low-power MOBILE CPUs and APUs. (Like my laptop's, obviously...) Rick, for the sake of argument, post your system's specs. Edit. You're not the only one experiencing game crashes. Have a look at this thread on 2K's forum: https://www.2ksports.com/forums/showthread.php?t=318952

Box Scores handled my team's 26-0 spanking of its opposition just fine. Here's a peak... I had a 'mammoth' My Player game. Every time I came up, there were runners on, and I didn't fail to bring 'em home. I parked two 3-run bombs and a Grand Slam that game. Two of the opposing pitchers saw their ERAs hit 20+ LOL Now, I did have 15 RBIs and did score 7 runs, so I don't know if it'll go beyond that for individuals. I know it works fine for team totals at the bottom of the box score, though. So, I'd have to guess you actually did better than I did to get more than 15 RBIs and 7 runs scored, so congrats on that! P.S. How the Hell Wuertz managed to convince the scorer to give him a Save when we were leading by 26 runs, I'll never know.

And there is no 4/12 roster... The most recent is 4/10. Ain't that right Nachos? =)
-
I've thought about things since I posted 2K's 4/3/2012 opening day roster. I realized that by uploading an official roster here, I was actually allowing anyone who pirated the game to find an official update to it. Hell... Maybe that's why it has over 500 downloads. I had good intentions w/ that upload because 2K Share behaved a little 'wonky' for some people for about a day or so. But, I've not seen a single complaint about 2K Share since. So while I'm not outright accusing anyone of piracy, I'm not about to inadvertently support it. Not again, anyway. And I would hope no one else will, either. The PC version is pretty damn cheap -- $20 at Amazon. So, my advice is to actual MLB2K12 owners who need the update is to get the new roster on their own. If you don't know how to login and use 2K Share, here's how: Start the game > open the Nav Menu > select Features > Online Options > Login > enter your acct info or create a new acct if 1st time. (If using a gamepad, you can login by hitting Button1/ButtonX on your controller.) Once you login, you'll be taken back to the "Home" screen. Re-open the Nav Menu > select Features > 2K Share > Download. Once you do so, you'll be taken to the Official Roster list. Highlight the roster you want and hit Enter or Button2/ButtonA on the controller to download it. Select "Create New" and enter a name for the roster. I suggest using a name that contains the release date. (ie. Roster 04102012) Once you've downloaded the roster, exit 2K Share and go back into the Nav Menu or "Home" screen. (You still have to load the roster to use/view it.) Open the Nav Menu > Options > Load/Save > Load > Confirm the message about losing unsaved crap > find the roster filename on the list and select it > wait for confirmation and confirm > exit the menu and go back to the "Home" screen. Congrats. You're now using the newest roster.

Nice. 2K's Tech Support number... Time to start crank-calling! LOL Hopefully things get sorted out.

Great American Ball Park Right Center Field Distance Marker
RazberyBandit replied to mmcf157's topic in Support
I noticed it, but I've no idea how to fix it. I don't even know if it can be fixed.
