When you play MLB Today games (not Franchise games, but the actual games scheduled for the real world), do they make ANY difference in anything? I see when the game is over the little spinning hard disc and it says saving results, etc.

I suppose PC users should be happy to get ANY patch. But there are so many things screwed up in the PC version, that they could do better than just minor tweaks. Obviously the priority is going to be gaming systems. What smokes me is these fixes are being done ON COMPUTERS and then implemented on the game systems.

I figured out the strike zone thing for the majors. But what is weird is when you play minor league games the strike zone is tiny for ALL hitters. Althought strike calls seem to be more generous. I have experienced some VERY questionable ball-strike calls by the umps. Mainly when I am pitching. When I am batting the calls seem to be pretty accurate.

X2. Getting to REALLY hate those colored balls. No idea what the colors mean. And they often block the view of the actual ball being thrown.

Agree 100%. It's hit and miss (pardon the pun) at best. And even if you are lucky enough to get in a game with someone, the lag kills any enjoyment. Best to stay with offline play. It must be some kind of secret fraternity that actually uses 2K12 on a regular basis online. No idea what the secret handshake is.

LOL...I also got a horrible review. I think I am ranked 50,000th

The sliders don't seem to do much within a specific level of play. What level of play are you using? People have had luck with going to a more difficult level of play and then adjusting the sliders down. I am using the easiest gameplay level and my home runs vary depending on how good the pitcher from the opposing team is. I recently played Toronto and was VERY frustrated that I couldn't even get a base hit. I'm still learning with this game With MVP05/08 I was able to whack balls all over the place at will. What my major frustration is are the colored "helper" balls that come at you when you're trying to get a hit. A lot of times they completely cover the real baseball and I end up swinging and missing. :(

Very frustrating.. I am playing AAA games as the Charlotte Knights and the computer seems to want to play the games for me. And every time the cimputer plays, he LOSES. Is there some way to PREVENT the computer from playing the games automatically? I even tried jumping ahead and playing games before they are scheduled, and the comp STILL plays my games.

<standing up waving my hands wildly> That would be me using a single core CPU. Good ol' Pentium 4 3.8Ghz. Game has been 100% stable for me, although my cooling fan on my weak 400 watt power supply runs constantly at high speed while playing the game. So it must really suck down some power.

I know this would be an unpopular suggestion, but has anyone experiencing these problems tried a full uninstall and then re-install of the game WITHOUT any mods at all? I think that is the only way to establish if it is something in the game or a mod. But I think too many of us aren't experiencing this for it to be something in the basic game. I supposed it could be hardware-related, but the variation in hardware is going to make that hard to nail down.

Thanks Raz. Instructions were perfect. :good:

And the correct answer is (next time ask a Sox fan )... Chicago White Sox Authentic 1972 Turn Back The Clock Home Performance 59FIFTY On-Field Cap Ta-da!!! :yahoo:

Okay, I have a player created but I have no idea how to put him on a team. I want him on a minor league team, but thanks to a next-to-useless manual from 2K sports, I have no idea how to get him playng. Can anyone walk me through the process? Thanks in advance. Crites

Raz: My power supply fan is just underpowered. It's only a 450 watt unit so it comes on pretty often, even when just using the web. I am using a HP XW4200 Workstation as my comp and it is a cheapie ;)

Well with the infrequency of home runs in my games (at Rookie level with no alterations), I don't think I want to make it more challenging.
-
Just curious, but how many big league players consistently throw over 100 for any length of time? Not too many I think. :)

Hmmmm...are the drivers for the video card up-to-date? Also sounds like an overheating problem. Check your fan on the video card as well as the power supply to make sure they are working properly. Also try using other games that are graphics-intensive. My power supply fan runs constant when I am playing 2K12.

Didn't know about that switching thing between keyboard and controller. That was probably my problem. But now that I've been using the keyboard, I don't feel the urge to go back to the controller. :D

Sounds good. As long as you were able to order it, that's all that counts. Let us know how you like it and if you have any questions feel free to ask on here. Lots of knowledgeable guys that can help you out. It seems like we are discovering new things every day about this game. :)

See Bangus answer. I don't know if Amazon USA restricts shipping to Canada, I don't see why they would. Here is the list at Amazon of sellers of the DVD. And there IS one that ships international. So you are all set. http://www.amazon.co...8&condition=new

Will: I am VERY happy with the performance of the keyboard vs the Logitech Rumblepad. Pitching is especially better as I can take my time with locating the ball where I want it. It is very precise and I can get strike outs with it that I couldn't get with the controller. Batting is also a lot easier, although I haven't perfected the "pull back and then swing" method yet. Of course, I couldn't do that with the Logitech either. So no biggie. I have fielding and running set on auto control. I had it that way with the controller too.

I still haven't tried setting it at Pro and then lowering the settings. Maybe today I'll get the chance today and try it.
-
Just an update...I've been playing Franchise for a couple of weeks with zero lockups. However, I am using keyboard as a controller.
-
Hmmmm...I suspected something like that was true. I might try moving to Pro and then downgrading from there a little bit. I can't get a hit to save my life at the pre-set Pro level. On yeah....on the minor league access...I figured out how to find it. From the Home screen you click on Franchise and then the Esc (Escape) key. It's in the bottom left hand corner. But it's "blurred out" and you can't access it. Maybe when the regular season starts you can play it...I dunno.

Yesterday was my first grand slam of the game. It was pretty cool. But I have the settings back to Rookie. Seems like the more I futzed with the sliders, the worse I made things. Bandit: I will see if pressing #4 does anything. But I am not using a controller, I am using a keyboard. So that equates to Right Shift. We shall see ^_^
