Thanks Hollywood. I tried doing some adjusting, but I made things worse instead of better. You would think by the fourth incarnation of this game, SOMEBODY would have figured out that we need more than the flimsy, worthless manual that is provided. I would be more than happy with a pdf file that explained what and how the sliders and other stuff works. BTW...can you also tell me how to access the minor league games. That seems to have disappeared from my choices ever since I started a franchise.

I've been trying to do slider adjustments to reduce the number of errors for both the AI and myself. So far nothing has changed. WAY too many dropped balls and poor throws by the AI contolling my fielders. What should be easy pop flys and throws to first base are ending up being dropped ball and bad throw errors. I see these same complaints on the 2K12 forum too. Also lots of complaints about cheating when playing online, although even getting a game going seems next to impossible. I check how many players are there and it shows 100, but when you hit "2" there is nobody showing. This has to be one of the worst-implemented online gaming system in existence.

Okay, something else occurred to me. What happens in the regular season games? Do I still have to use my budget to buy inside edge reports?
-
I've been using the Rookie setting to get used to the game. But good grief...so many errors! Think I am gonna have to go with Custom and do some adjusting. Just wondered if anyone was using the included slider settings like Pro without changing anything.

Excellent! Looks really great. Thank you :good:

Thanks for that info guys. At least I know it isn't the game goofing up. Strange that it comes and goes, though.

In Franchise mode...sometimes I start a game and the batting box and pitching box are clear instead of having red and blue square indicators in them. It's happened to me three times so far. Not a big deal, since I usually decide where I am going to throw the pitch. But it is a bit strange that the game can't make up it's mind to show them or not.

LOL...the DVD version of the game may become a collectors item, since there are so few of them being sold.
-
I ordered the hard copy of the DVD from Amazon and it arrived pretty quickly. Walmart still doesn't have it. Not sure they ever will. Their PC game area is a total mess. It's obvious they are catering to the console folks.

Oops...sorry about that. I deleted that from my original post.

Thanks pal. It should help me in the future with installing mods and stuff. :)

Just an update on this missing folder thingie. I am using Windows XP Pro 32 bit. There IS NO "Users" folder in that system. Where the 2k Sports info is located outside of the Program Files folder is at: C:Documents and SettingsCritesApplication Data2K SportsMajor League Baseball 2K12 In that location are two folders, Cache and Saves. In the Saves folder are Roster files as well as many other essential files to 2K12. So anyone NOT using Windows 7 (and maybe Vista, not sure) and still using Windows XP, that's where the 2K12 stuff is located.

I was invited to play an exhibition game. I THINK what you do is go into the section you want to play in (Beginner for me) and then see who is there and invite (or be invited) to play. Not sure though and not sure how to invite someone. And each section pretty much has it's own restrictions on gameplay. There is a custom section and you may be able to play there with classic settings. I just don't know. The manual is SOOOOO informative on online play it is just amazing.

Really, all I need is a roster update every year and I'd be happy. As has been stated, MVP 05 is still being modded today. But the graphics aren't anywhere near 2K12, and new stadiums like the new Yankee stadium are still missing. Interest is shrinking in MVP 05 and that's why I moved to 2K12. Much of MVP 05 is pretty open to mods. We can't even change in-game music in 2K12, and unless someone comes up with a program that can read the music, it will remain the same...hideous. MVP 05 had and has a huge following because it was well done and readily available. People are still hunting around for 2K12 in computer and game stores and AREN'T finding it. I got mine from Amazon. Like it or not (and I DON'T!), games are moving to the console. And you can't really mod console games. So 2K12 may pass into oblivion very quickly after this year.

"Wait 'till next year" Sorry....couldn't resist.

Tried my first online game vs a human. Not very good. For some reason my keyboard controls were NOT working. I could pause the game and go into options and I checked and all the settings were correct. ButI I couldn't swing a bat at all. I don't know if it was because of something my opponent selected or because I failed to select something. Also, although I have a high speed DSL connection, when the ball was pitched to me, it had a very erratic movement. Not a slideshow, but not smooth like offline play. All in all a pretty disappointing experience. I'm glad I didn't buy this game to play online.

Geez do I ever agree with Strawberry18! The "music", and I use that term VERY loosely, is God-awful. Since we don't seem to have a program that can chage it (yet), the only option seems to be to turn off the music that plays during the menu and play a CD of your own. I had a pretty nice old school music selection when I was playing MVP 2005/08, but unfortunately it was on the EA Mods forum and that is gone. I will just have to do a search for baseball songs and try and remember what I had and burn another CD and post the files on this forum. :D

Just did as you instructed. Found the .fxg file in the same location as I described above: C:Documents and SettingsCritesApplication Data2K SportsMajor League Baseball 2K12Saves. It was in the "Saves" folder.

Thanks. I'll try that today and let you know what happens.

Actually, I have switched to keyboard controls and like it a lot better. Lots more control over pitching and hitting. Still haven't figured out how to get the pinch hitter thing working yet. But I will. :fool:

Thanks Dylan! It worked. Gave you one for answering ym question. :good:

I did a search but couldn't find anything specific on how to add reputation points. Can anyone help me? I have a couple of folks that have been very helpful at tech questions and suggestions and I'd like to acknowledge their efforts.

Hollywood: I went through this before in another thread. I am using Win XP Pro. There is no "Users" folder. As a matter of fact, there is no Users folder ANYWHERE in my C: drive. After doing an extensive search, I located what I think is the equivalent to a Users folder. It is at C:Documents and SettingsCritesApplication Data2K SportsMajor League Baseball 2K12. In that location are two folders, Cache and Saves. This is the only folder I have found relating to 2K Sports that isn't located in the game location. When I do a reinstall I make sure to choose "Delete EVERYTHING", including any saves and preferences. Since I have been having these controller issues, I haven't even started any Franchises or My Player things. Now that I am using the keyboard as a controller, I guess I can start doing Franchises and other features. I really AM happy with the keyboard controller. It is VERY precise for pitching and gives a more "relaxed" and "precise" gameplay. B)
