  1. They came back on about 9AM. Whew!!! :yahoo:
  2. Well I am on the fourth install and this time I am NOT using a gamepad at all. Took me a while to get used to using the keyboard, but at least I don't have the settings changing on me. I made sure to save the game exactly the way I wanted it and it seems to be stable now. The keyboard is no big deal as I use auto fielding and and I can actually be a lot more precise with my pitching.
  3. I have re-installed this game 3 times to try and keep the settings "normal". And for some reason they keep changing to what I DON'T want and I can't change them back. 1. I want my pitching to stay in simple mode and it keeps changing to the more advanced and difficult mode where you have to spin the joystick into weird manuvers to make a pitch. Anyone know how to change it back to simple mode? I tried pressing button 4 on the controller and it says it will install the default settings, but it stays at the advanced mode. (Logitech Rumblepad. And please don't tell me to buy another controller. Not gonna happen.) 2. I want auto fielding and auto throwing enabled and no matter what I do I can't get it turned on. I have it turned on for player 2, but I can't find where I can enable it for player 1, which is what I am logged in as. Every time I try and enable it it shows "Player 2" above the selections. How to I get to thensetting for player 1?
  4. Got up this morning and wanted to play a quick game. Tried to sign on to the server and continually got the message "server unavailable please try again later". Anyone else experience server problems? This doesn't bode well for when the season actually starts. I hope they get things sorted out soon.

    A Few Questions

Well I did a search in the MLB 2K12 folder and a full search of the hard drive and NOTHING showed up with .ros as a suffix. I have hidden folders set as showing.

    A Few Questions

LOL....well that explains the missing folder. I am using Win XP Pro.
  7. Thanks Hollywood. I am pretty good with MVP 05/08, but this is a brand new animal for me. :D
  8. Well I figured it out. There is NOTHING in the config menu that explains it. What I had to do was hit the down POV first and then hit the #5 button. That brought up the hitter selection. To say the manual info is minimal is to make an understatement.

    A Few Questions

I went in and clicked on show hidden folders. Still doesn't show. I also did a search for a file or folder called "Users". Nothing. Perhaps because I haven't saved a game yet the folders Users doesn't exist?
  10. I looked all through the manual and I don't see any description of how to bring in a pinch hitter while batting. Also no way to bring in a pinch runner or to change someone in the outfield during gameplay. I'm using a Logitech Rumblepad.
  11. Never heard of it. What sport does it simulate? :o

    A Few Questions

I just got my copy of MLB2K12 today. I been playing it on my buddy's computer up till now. I have a few questions... #1 Are ALL the files for this game located in C:Program Files2k SportsMajor League Baseball 2K12 or are they stored in other locations? There is a mod from DetroitStyle that says "To install, just place the .ROS file in your C:Users%UserName%AppDataRoaming2K SportsMajor League Baseball 2K12Saves". I also created a username, but I can't find it anywhere in the 2K12 location. I have no such location.
  13. My point about The Show not being compatible with previous incarantions of Playstation is the fact ALL consoles have compatibility issues and "built-in obsolescence". That's HOW console manufacturers make money. I am playing computer games that were used back when Windows 95 was first introduced. MVP 2005 is SEVEN years old and still going strong. I simply reported on the negative feedback that was received on Amazon.com. I don't know what skill level users of the Playstation 3 were or if they even read the instructions. As to PC costs, I am using two USED PCs and a third one I built myself. I don't think I have 1K in ALL THREE of them. And they all play these baseball games just fine. :D
  14. After playing 2K12 and MVP05/08, I can't see how a console game can be superior in baseball subjects. And Sony is into what...their THIRD incarnation of the Playstation? And from what I read The Show is NOT compatible with PS2. Checking the negative reviews of The Show on Amazon, the most common compaint is Sony made it WAY too hard to hit the ball, and online play is boring because nobody gets any hits. Every game ends up being a one run affair. Plus it costs $60 and the cost of a PS3 ($230-$250). No thanks.
  15. Thanks guys! That's what I needed to know. :good:
  16. This is my first year switching to MLB2K from MVP2005/08. So my questions are... 1. Does 2K sports update the rosters periodically or is it something only done by modders? 2. If done by modders, how difficult is it to do? Do you just drop the info into a certain file or what?
  17. Last time I checked The Show was not available for the PC and ONLY available for the Playstation. With the economy the way it is the wife would hit the roof if I bought a console game system for ONE game.
  18. What's amazing is MVP 2005 is still alive and being worked on. Granted, the ball parks are dated, but people are still producing updated rosters and faces and even uniforms. As long as I can get updated rosters, etc for MLB 2K12, I really won't mind much if they discontinue producing new releases of the game. From what I have heard from others, MLB 2K12 wasn't exactly a revolutionary change from 2K11. I mean when 2K sports has to feature new audio tracks as a new feature, you gotta know things are pretty much the same. As to the console games...I'll pass on ALL of them. I been burned too many times when they "upgrade" to a new game system that is incompatible with the old ones.
  19. I was checking out some of the forums about 2K Sports. Seems this may be the last year for MLB2K. 2K Sports isn't renewing their license with MLB to make the game. That freaking figures. I finally find a game that is as good as or better than MVP2005/2008 and they stop making it. http://www.operationsports.com/news/458824/take-two-interactive-suggests-mlb-exclusivity-may-end-when-2012-deal-expires/?page=3 The only possible good news is if EA Sports picks up the lcense. But I wouldn't bet on that either. If they do, it would most likely only be for X-Box and Playstation. Doubtful they would kake it for the PC.
  20. I like it a lot. I like it better than MVP 2005/2008, which is saying a lot. Unfortunately, this is the last year for the game. 2K isn't renewing their license with MLB for the game. Bummer

    Pitcher Batting

Thanks for that info cody. ;)
  22. Here's the one I have. Only mine is all black: http://www.logitech.com/en-us/gaming/controllers/devices/wireless-gamepad-f710
  23. DOH!!!! You're right!!!! Found #9 and #10. Two buttons I don't think I've EVER used. Thanks peterosefan!!! :good:
  24. I don't see how. I only have one rumblepad and there is no button 10 on my Logitech Rumblepad. It's either the keyboard and Rumblepad or nothing. I'm thinking there must be an alternative to what peterosefan described.

    Pitcher Batting

In the National League there is no designated hitter for the pitcher rule. Only in the American League. If you pinch hit the pitcher in the National League, he is out of the game. In real life this makes for an interesting World Series. American League pitchers never get any batting experience, but in the World Series they have to take their at bats. They may have changed this rule recently for World Series games...not sure. Also not sure how it works in interleague games during the regular season. I assume they use whatever rule the home team league uses.
