I really would have liked to be present at the meeting where someone said: 'Let's promote our drink around baseball by saying this is something extra'. Second: Dear Carlos, I know we were supposed to get you 7 years ago, so it's not like we didn't see the injuries coming. But hey, if that 5 hour crap is so good, and really is an extra, use the damn thing and get back on the field!

To what do you attribute the loss of velocity? His velocity was a weapon that he knew how to use. At times he seems lost without it. It's like he is surprised when throws a fastball and it barely tops 90. Drive certainly comes into question, but I really do not like the fact that someone decided that his body needed a change because it might break down. Well, guess what, his brand new body just broke, he was placed on the 15-day DL with right knee inflamation. Healthy or not, his overweight body worked for him and he did not have any major issues with it or with his performance until some genious decided that he should be 'fit'.

Both valid points. I kind of liked him, but that stunt he pulled his last year was really really stupid.

Well, they were all important parts of world series winning teams, so they should get some form of recognition. Plaques sound nice, it's not too much and they'll get their place in history. Just out of curiosity, what do you hate the most about Jorge?

Do you think he's old enough for the Yankees to sign or trade for? I bet Cashman is depressed right now because there aren't enough players over 40 on the roster. Give a guy like Jason Giambi credit. He's 43 and still playing and helping out the Indians.

Apparently pitch framing is a skill that the Yankees consider very important. It's one of the reasons they allowed Chris Stewart to play for that many games last season.

I agree, I like Cervelli but there's always something in the way of him turning into a productive player for the Yankees. With the surplus of catchers in the minors, it wouldn't be a bad idea to trade him for some infield help.
