  1. For me the pillow is always part of the setup. The game will start at midnight, portuguese time, and for week days that's what usually happens. Something tells me that tomorrow morning's training session will be hard...
  2. I read that this morning and I have to say that I agree 100%
  3. Beltran has started slowly, but Soriano to me is just doing what he always does, swinging at ridiculous pitches. Today he swung at a pitch in the dirt with men on 2nd and 3rd. That's just what he does, and we'll have to live with it.
  4. At this point, I'm not sure that there was a lot to inherit. So, 4 games into the season and where is Tex? That's right folks, the DL.
  5. I'm all for realism and accuarcy, but come on, it's spring training, you should be fine without it, or at least until someone gets that done.
  6. I can't decide if I love Solarte because he got Nunez kicked off the team, or because he's actually serviceable.
  7. Nothing is ever enough, is it?
  8. Well that didn't take long. He's probably just waiting for Grady Sizemore.
  9. NO NO NO! We lost a game! Blow everything up! Fire Ellsbury, put CC on a fast-food diet, retire Jeter!!! Teixeira had two hits in the first game of the season? Is he allright, is he sick?!
  10. Nunez DFA'd!!!!!!!!
  11. And yet, the Yankees won't hire us to run the show
  12. Well, let me share some of my thoughts on the Yankees this season. What I hope happens: - Jeter comes back and hits well and doesn't struggle too much in field. - Ellsbury produces as he is expected. - Sabathia pitches effectively with less speed on his fastball. - Teixeira comes back from his injury and actually hits better than .250 - Soriano K's only twice each game, homering every now and then. - Tanaka is as good as advertised and dominates from the start. - Nunez stays in Triple A or is traded for someone, or something. At this point, a pack of baseball cards is enough. - The young bullpen holds its own, Robertson shuts the door like Mariano, Betances turns into a shutdown reliever in the 8th inning (which is where Phil Hughes possibly belonged), and Thornton doesn't suck too bad. What will probably happen: - Jeter will struggle, because let's face it he is 39 and playing shortsop, and will probably spend time on the DL at some point. - Ellsbury will probably spend time on the DL at some point. - Sabathia will be good at times and at others will struggle because he will be for better or worse, pitching with a different body and that kind of change takes time and is not always successful. He may spend time on the DL at some point. - Teixeira will struggle coming back from injury and will hit into the shift way too many times, and will probably spend time on the DL at some point. - Soriano will K way more often than we'd like, while hitting the occasional home run. - Tanaka will be good. He wil also be facing better hitters and run into more trouble than ever before. Growing pains ahead. - Nunez plays way way more than he should. - The young bullpen will work at times, then it won't and the Yankees go on a spending spree for overpriced and over the hill relievers. - Brian Roberts will probably spend time on the DL at some point. So, that's it.
  13. The Chihuahuas? How manly of them!
  14. Thank you for your wisdom Y4L. I really thought it had gotten more relaxed recently. I wasn't aware of that fact with YES Network. I watched games on ESPN America, both home and away, and I never noticed that.
  15. It is a long standing practice of the Yankees, though it is not set in stone. Some players over the years have gone against this policy and worn facial hair to their liking. I believe in more recent decades it became more of a tradition instead of a rule. As for tattoos, if you remember as recently as 2011, the Yankees had the misfortune of having AJ Burnett pitching for them every 5 days, and his tattoos were very visible, so I am not exactly sure of what the policy regarding that is. Like I said, nowadays I believe it is more a tradition, embraced by most of the new Yankees, than an actual rule. That being said - and I am by no means criticizing your valuable work - If you were going for accuarcy you should have removed the beards, though I completely understand why you didn't. PS: If the Yankees were actually worried about PR they should have cut A-Rod years ago.
  16. The uniforms are excellent, like always. I just can't get over the fact that a team would name themselves 'Rubber Ducks'. Is it just me that finds this funny?
  17. Nice work, but I think there are a little too many beards in there. The Yankees are generally not allowed to have facial hair.
  18. That's one of the things I don't like in 2k games, the pitching. Seems a bit random to me.
  19. No PC version: http://extramustard.si.com/2014/03/12/rbi-baseball-14-screenshots/?eref=sihp
  20. Awesome mods man, excellent job
  21. Same here. What could have been...
  22. LOL!!! Yes, I meant Jackson. Sorry for the confusion guys. I just searched 'Reggie Willams' on baseball-reference.com Turns out there were actually two guys named Reggie Williams who played in the majors. The first is the one in the card above, and the second played 88 games in the MLB in 4 seasons. I'm still wondering why I wrote Williams instead of Jackson. I had just watched some Reggie videos on youtube.
  23. Lou Gehrig, Thurman Munson, Reggie Williams, Paul O'Neill! I can just keep going on...
  24. I have many from soccer players, some through my dad, some signed in person by the players. I guess getting an autograph from a baseball player is on my bucket list, along with visiting Yankee Stadium and calling A-Rod ugly to his face.
  25. I might just do the same.
