x2. Don't know anything about modding but if there's anything I can do to help, just ask. Making this happen would definitely bring some new life to 2K12.

Just played a game with your rosters and slider set. A little too many hits but it was only one game, and I can always adjust the sliders. So, I played Yankees vs Rays and beat them 8-3. I got 16 hits and they got 10. It was also a Sac-fly fest with two for each team. Sabathia was pitching for me and while I struggled a bit with control in the first few innings I got to work around it and one gave up one walk and 7 hits over 7.1 with 5 K's. At one point I retired 9 in a row. Brett Gardner went 3-4 with a double. Matt Diaz hit a double down the line and hit 2-4. Cano hit 3-5 with a 3-run homer to left. Youkilis homered to leadoff the 5th and welcome Hernandez into the game, after a 4 run 4th inning chased Hellickson, who was pitching pretty well until that, out of the game. Jeter struck out 3 times, so I figured I'd give Nunez a try and he singled. For TB, Jennings stole 2nd two times, but we all know Chris Stewart sucks behind the plate. 79% strikes for TB and 68 for the NYY but I wasn't really being patient, just wanted to try the rosters. I chased a bunch that I shoudln't have. 7K's for Tampa and 6 for the Yankees. All in all, the gameplay is good and as realistic as I think this game can be, except for the hitting but like I said, it was only one game. I'll have to play some more to give you better feedback. Still, excellent work!

Thanks man, will give it a try soon.

Random Thoughts On A Sunday Morning Updated To 11-24
sabugo replied to Yankee4Life's topic in Left Field (Off-Topic)
Something similar to the 'War of the Tomato' happens in Spain, in Buñol near Valencia. I think this one is bigger though. Didn't know about that one in Chile. And I don't think that would be the best place for A-Rod. Tomatoes are too soft. And I changed my opinion on whether women should or could be in the same field as men after Ronda Rousey's performance last night. I mean, any brave men out there willing to fight her? One tough lady for sure. If that other woman wants to face those big dudes, let her have it. Oh, you're not the only country with dumb people in charge of transportation. Just this week here in Portugal, a guy was forcibly removed from the train he was travelling in because he refused to pay for a ticket for his dog. Even the rules do state that dogs have to pay a regular ticket, I don't think it was necessary to have 5 cops manhandling the guy and terrifying the poor dog and everybody else who was watching this. Check it out if want, it's all on youtube. While Hughes' injury might be a blessing, I'm not so sure about Grandy's broken arm. K's or not, his homers will be missed. All in all, I think the Yankees' 2013 season has the potential to be a spectacular fail. I only hope I'm wrong. Burnett was actually decent last year. And that makes me sad in some sort of way. But I still feel for the Pirates fans. Last year was probably a fluke and he's probably due to keep sucking like he always has. Doesn't a bloody violate some kind of health code? I've been away from this topic for quite some time but I just want to say that the notion of Nick Swisher whining about being booed in the Yankee Stadium is just plain stupid. Dude...you just set some kind of record for bad performance, nobody did what you have done, ever! What did you expect??! (Sorry, I just had to say this) -
So far, no. People keep hoping that 2k will change their minds and come out with a PC version but I woudln't hold my breath.

I get it, and thank you for the explanation. The schedule and Houston to AL is something that is bound to give trouble to whoever tries to do it. From what I've read around here, parts of the database are hard-coded, not text or number based values in a database. Those include schedules and division assignaments. Other stuff that I've read and I'm sure you read too, is that roster crashes are happening mainly due to not enough or too many players in a given team. With all the time you've put into this I'm guessing you've researched and tried different methods too. It might be that when you updated one team, it somehow messed with other team's minimum available hitters or pitchers and it caused the game to crash upon loading. I'm thinking the best thing is as you go along and update each team you make a backup and lock it in a swiss bank vault, otherwise, like you said, you run the risk of ruining all your work. I really think this is a great project. Anyway, I'm just trying to help by sharing a few thoughts. I really don't have much of how modding in 2k12 works, but if there's anything I can help with, just shoot.
-
I don't know how to do that either, but it's a shame that you can't merge your efforts. I'm not sure if any of the editors has an import or export function or how do they work for that matter, but I'm guessing that would be something that you'd need to work together. The better case scenario would be a merger between both of your rosters AND being able to move Houston to the AL along with correct schedules. But this is just me dreaming and I have zero knowledge of MLB2k12 patching.

Just came across this while reading the shoutbox: http://www.spiritstranslation.com/2012_update.html
-
x2. Why don't you guys work on this together? You have what seems to be a great system to rate players and create rosters, and he seems to be working on stuff like schedules, etc. Just a suggestion :good:
-
My thoughts exactly. Phil Hughes too.
-
I know that set. Last year I think they worked a little better, but they're good. I recently tried hetfield426's set and they seemed to produce more realistic results in terms of gameplay. Also dependes on whether you use total contral vs classic pitching/hitting. I use both on classic. And I always adjust the sliders a bit too.
-
Maybe if you tinker with the sliders a little bit the results will become more realistic. What slider set are you using?
-
Looks pretty realistic to me. I think it's also important to check how it plays, in order to better adjust the sliders. But great work so far. Looking forward to see it.

Awesome again! -
Agree. Can't we all just agree on: A) Pete Rose is a lying SOB who did in fact burn a lot of bridges, and shouldn't be surprised when people just don't like him for that. Pete Rose was a great player, despite the fact that he was not a very good person or teammate. C) Pete Rose screwed himself out of the HOF beacuse he gambled on his own team. Wheter he always bet on his team to win is besides the point. He just messed with the truth of the results when he decided it was alright to gamble on his teams. D) Pete Rose will eventually be inducted in the HOF, it's just a matter of 50 years going by and not being anybody alive from his time to say: 'Hey, I knew this guy, he was a dumbass'. E) Pete Rose's career will ALWAYS be mentioned with an asterisk.

Pretty great work, as usual. -
Licensing issues maybe? And since it covers the Korean league, they didn't even bother to translate the game to english. Huge mistake in my opinion, the game would be much more popular with an english mod or version. As it is, since I don't understand korean, I'm not going to waste my time downloading it. I'm not sure I'd even know how to install the game properly or navigate through the menus, etc.
-
Even if it was just a simple translation instead of a full mod, I'd be fine with that. Where can one even get this? Any koreans out there willing to shed some light on this?
-
I said yes, and I'll tell you why: I don't think the gambling stuff should be a measure on how great of a player he was. I do however think the Hall of Fame should be reserved for those who played the game cleanly, or at least within the acceptable parameters of society at a given time, and excelled on the field. Is he a liar? Yes Was he a great player? Yes Did his gambling and lying affect the game or what happened on the field? As much as we want to, we will never know. His career will always and forever be mentioned with an asterisk. But the fact is, he is the all-time hits leader, and that alone should get him in.
