  1. Maybe if you tinker with the sliders a little bit the results will become more realistic. What slider set are you using?
  2. Looks pretty realistic to me. I think it's also important to check how it plays, in order to better adjust the sliders. But great work so far. Looking forward to see it.
  3. Agree. Can't we all just agree on: A) Pete Rose is a lying SOB who did in fact burn a lot of bridges, and shouldn't be surprised when people just don't like him for that. Pete Rose was a great player, despite the fact that he was not a very good person or teammate. C) Pete Rose screwed himself out of the HOF beacuse he gambled on his own team. Wheter he always bet on his team to win is besides the point. He just messed with the truth of the results when he decided it was alright to gamble on his teams. D) Pete Rose will eventually be inducted in the HOF, it's just a matter of 50 years going by and not being anybody alive from his time to say: 'Hey, I knew this guy, he was a dumbass'. E) Pete Rose's career will ALWAYS be mentioned with an asterisk.
  4. Pretty great work, as usual.
  5. Licensing issues maybe? And since it covers the Korean league, they didn't even bother to translate the game to english. Huge mistake in my opinion, the game would be much more popular with an english mod or version. As it is, since I don't understand korean, I'm not going to waste my time downloading it. I'm not sure I'd even know how to install the game properly or navigate through the menus, etc.
  6. Even if it was just a simple translation instead of a full mod, I'd be fine with that. Where can one even get this? Any koreans out there willing to shed some light on this?
  7. I said yes, and I'll tell you why: I don't think the gambling stuff should be a measure on how great of a player he was. I do however think the Hall of Fame should be reserved for those who played the game cleanly, or at least within the acceptable parameters of society at a given time, and excelled on the field. Is he a liar? Yes Was he a great player? Yes Did his gambling and lying affect the game or what happened on the field? As much as we want to, we will never know. His career will always and forever be mentioned with an asterisk. But the fact is, he is the all-time hits leader, and that alone should get him in.
  8. Sounds like an awesome project :)
  9. Looks good :)
  10. Since english is not my first language I guess I misused the word 'culture'. I'm not blaming the internet, I'm just saying that this trend has grown with the internet. Anyway, we're deviating from the point. These modders have done great work and should be rewarded for it.
  11. Exactly! You just don't expect to walk in the grocery store, pick up some oranges and leave! Nowadays everybody has that 'I can find this for free somewhere' mentality. Nothing is ever for free. I mentioned it as an 'internet thing' because I recently read that something close to 60% of all the software being used by domestic users around the world is pirated or unlicensed.
  12. I meant it's just an internet thing. You log on, download whatever you want and don't think twice about who's done the work, or put it there.
  13. So what you're saying is that the problem is not the buying part, just a cultural thing of taking stuff for free and not caring about who's done the work? I'd have to agree with that...
  14. Me, a lot of times I just forget to post my feedback. I download stuff, go to the game to try it and I completely forget to come back here to leave my opinion. I'll try to change this, for your guys' sake. You should definitely get something out of your modding skills. I've always felt that modders would become great assets to companies like EA or 2KSports. I've only tried modding in other games and I know how hard and time consuming it can be. I even wonder if you guys ever get to play the game or just mod it for fun. Anyway, some years ago, I think it was in an NHL game, a group of modders got together and made a complete overhaul of the graphic part of the game and added some other stuff to improve gameplay. They then put it for sale on the web, and it was quite cheap, like 10 bucks or so. They also offered continued support and updates on their work, exclusively for those who bought it. I didn't buy it, but from what I saw, it was money well spent for those who did. Might be a path to follow.
  15. I respect Prince Harry for going to the field, like he is supposed to, setting an example by showing that the ones who start wars should be the ones to fight it. Nevertheless his presence there might be in millitary terms, counterproductive and or dangerous to everyone who happens to be around him. Man, I've never been in a flight THAT boring...Weird things happen on the sky! That poor child...We have a similar case in Portugal with a much publicized relationship between a soccer player and a singer-actress-dumb as a rock-socialite-(insert random followed by the media job here) who named their two baby girls some absolutely insanely ridiculous names. Which are supposed to be a merger between his and her names. The sad thing is that the guy who made that video was expecting this sort of reaction and he got exactly what he wanted, only double. And for one lousy video people get killed. And the situation in Mexico isn't much better either. My hope goes out to all the decent people in Mexico. The Yankees have a serious case of too much time spent playing themselves on computer games. They get this weird idea that because of their high power ratings in games they can smash at will during real life games. I wonder if Angelina Jolie reverses the whole idea of a guy having multiple wives. Pretty soon she's going to have get a second or third husband, because Brad Pitt must be going nuts trying to raise 27 kids - with possibly more on the way - and still find the time to look good, make movies and keep up with all she does.
  16. I get your point Y4L. I agree that too much replay is a bad thing. And of course, nobody in any sport ever loses because of ONE blown call. Like any good coach will tell you: 'Play well enough and the referees won't matter'. I haven't followed baseball for that long, but yes, games between the Yankees and Red Sox for example take way too long. My question is: Is there anything that can be done to shorten the time a game can last? Using replays to argue balls and strikes is just unnecessary. That part of the game is one where I think the human element makes the game what it is. But in other parts of the game, to me that would be a valuable thing, since in the end, the right call would be held. Questionable calls of 'Out' or 'Safe' at a base don't happen that often that it would slow the game that much. Also, putting a limit on how many calls can be questioned would be absolutely necessary. And yes, I also dislike the expanded playoffs. And too much interleague play also annoys me. For example, I understand when it's Yankees and the Mets, for its rivalry value, but some of the matchups are totally devoid of interest. Here in Europe, where football is king(soccer to you guys) it's been long discussed using technology to help the referees. Wheter it is at the goal line or judging an offside, horrible calls have been made throughout history and even made teams miss World Cups or lose Champions League semi-finals. But then again, different sports. Just to show you guys why I'm more in favor of using replays.
  17. Why don't you like replay? For me, as long as it's done in an efficient and quick way, I'm all for it. In the end, the truth holds up and we wouldn't have all the next-day controversy we have now with blown calls. And that's something I could definitely live without.
  18. The guys over at YES Network were saying the day after this happend that most of the umpires are in favor of expanding the use of replays.
  19. Could have, should have... Tex was the only one in a position to make an assessment on what to do. I read the same story about his sore calf. The problem to me is that there is technology available in order to sort these kind of situations out and it isn't being used.
  20. Through basketball, me and my dad got to know plenty of mormons. Also, even here in my small portuguese city we have mormons, spreading their word around. They have their quirks just like every other religion, but in general they're a peaceful and interesting bunch, who make babies by the dozen. Sign me up for that! Take baseball games for example. Even in MVP 05, pitch counts weren't all that visible or important to the game itself. In 2k12 it's basically the only thing that affects a pitcher's stamina.
  21. Holy crap, my dad told me that story about the woman in the restaurant. Just to show how amazingly stupid that woman is, I can just say that even Portuguese newspapers ran that story. The beginning of the football season depresses me because it's a sign that the baseball season is coming to an end soon. Also, I'm not that big of a football fan. What really annoys me is that I only have one channel that broadcasts baseball, and come this time of the year, it's football all day long. College football, pro football, canadian football... Damn you ESPN America. I wonder how that Boston College task force conducted that study... And the Detroit PD gets the Laziest PD in the world award for 2012. Swisher has been worrying me ever since I told Y4L that he was a valuable part of the NYY and that the Yankees should re-sign him. On the other hand A-Rod has been hitting a little bit better. Note to self: Keep my mouth shut regarding Yankee's hitters and let the universe unfold as it should. 18-wheeler drivers amaze me too. Specially because there never seems to be enough space in wherever they're trying to park their vehicles and in the end, they're almost always perfectly parked. I never understood the logic behind pitch counts. To me, it would make more sense if managers put a restriction on how many sliders, or curveballs or whatever. Since different pitches put different pressures on different muscles and ligaments and so on, throwing 100 fastballs definitely shouldn't be the same thing as throwing 100 curveballs. And a combination of both would be different as well. Then again, I know very little about the practical part of this game, so be free to teach me more about this.
  22. Thinking about it, you might be right. The Yankees have been surprisingly out of the big spending in the past couple of years. And they did announce last year that in the future they will be paying more attention to how they spend their money. A bunch of other teams have been spending a whole lot more than the Yankees. Still, they will forever be known as the team that outspends everyone. I don't think A-Rod is the source of the Yankees' problems. Like I've said before, maybe I just expect way too much of him every time he comes to the plate because I know that he has/had the capacity to do great things. I'm not a hater by any means.
  23. Clemens is like a bad cold, he keeps coming back. I'm guessing Jamie Moyer inspired him. Way to go LL Cool J, now that's walking the walk. I've been 3 days away and when I came back this trade had happened. I agree with most of your analysis. Poor James Loney. He was probably getting ready for the playoffs with the Dodgers and now he's going to play for a team that's crashing and burning. Every team needs a Nick Punto. There are days in which I'd rather have a Nick Punto than Alex Rodriguez. (I know, I keep complaining about him. For some reason the guy just annoys me) Maybe Magic Johnson can do that for me someday. Magic Johnson is really going all out for the Dodgers huh? I wonder when he'll realize that the Yankees own the monopoly of outspending everyone in baseball. I'm a bit disappointed because Melky Cabrera and Bartolo Colon are two guys who I thought were better than this. I have lost all the respect I had for Melky. Instead of stopping with the stupidity and accepting that he had been caught he just piled it on. And I was actually rooting Bartolo after what he did last year for the Yankees. Besides having played for the Yankees, I'm sure there are a lot more things that Clemens and these two share in common. I'm guessing they all like burgers, hot women and fast cars, but that wasn't really why they doped. I believe it would be far more interesting to investigate with who they associate outside their baseball organizations, because most of the times dopers get their supplies from people outside their teams. My sport doesn't even have any kind of testing at any level, even professionally, so believe me, I know what it is like to fight (literally) unfairly. In my case, most of the times I really try not to care, because in this very specific sport technique tends to overwhelm strenght. But in general, cheaters should be banned if not for life at least until the end of their careers, whenever that might be.
